The MySims games were a spin-off series of the Sims that came out between 2007-2010. They were a more casual approach to the life sim genre, and had a ton of charm- but why don't they make them anymore?

Mysims was my animal crossing. I remember almost crying in shambles after the lights went out before I was able to save my game save. That's how much I was attached to it

OMG FINALLY SOMEONE BRINGS THIS UP! I love these games so much. I replay MySims Agents (my favorite) all the time. (Edit: I totally understand your frustration at the ending. They orginally planned a sequel but it was never able to be made sadly.)

My Sims Kingdom was my entire childhood, I remember being so young that I could barely read and just being absolutely obsessed with all of the critters, lore, animation. Literally everything about the game just gives me joy.

Same for me! That was the first My Sims game I’d ever played. I played all the others later on. I particularly loved how Cuteopia and Spokane were polar opposites.
I often wondered why no one cosplayed up as the characters. I mean, My Sims isn’t quite as well known by as many people like The Sims, but there is certainly a small amount of fans that still love the spin off games.
It really should come back! I feel like it could be a cute animal crossing like sandbox. Especially with the customization, and if they expand it… it would just be awesome.
Animal crossing's success should be a big green flag for EA to bring it back but gathered more for a wider audience

kingdom and agents on wii were the absolute pinnacle of the series tbh (for me agents is like babys first rpg). i would soooo love them to come back esp agents that was gonna get a sequel that got cancelled bc im so upset about the ending still to this day. i think kingdom is def my fav tho i spent hours just decorating my own island and playing pretend in on it as a kid lol

i personally do feel like story driven stories with costumization is actually EXACTLY what we need! it was exhausting to play acnh when there was no story left, which was really really quickly!

MySims Agents has always been one of my favorite Wii games EVER and I still think about what a tragedy it is that they never made a sequel. I absolutely loved the progression of the story, exploring all of the different settings, and interacting with all the characters in a way that impacts the plot. Even the mini games, which I normally hate, were pretty enjoyable and balanced to me. But you’re right, the ending is so horrible and the fans deserved so much more😭
In mysims og, if you become best friends with the townies, you will unlock special blueprints for the regular townies and the special outfits for the retail sims. I would always try to become besties with Jenny for her rocket ship bed and Roxie for the bee outfit.
Would LOVE to see you review the DS versions of these games! They are so nostalgic, I poured hours and hours into them- it's so interesting to see how different the Wii games are in comparison to DS (kingdom and agents were the best ones- loads of great mini games and I used to get irrationally angry at the racquet ball one bc I sucked)
Yes yes yes, i've played the ds versions when i was younger and i actually didnt know the wii versions were so different. But i havent had a ds in years and i miss them soooo much, the mini games were the absolute best

i remember mysims agents was the first video game i actually completed lol no other game could keep my attention like that!! i was so heartbroken when it ended on a cliffhanger and they never made the sequel
They can't. They sacked the ENTIRE team who have partial ownership rights to that specific IP. I want it back SO MUCH but I also know the team who created it is VERY gone. (I had friends working for EA when it was a Thing.)

I love MySims so much, really wish they got to make the MySims Agents 2 they were planning to finish the story.
After all these years, I'm still holding onto hope for an Agents sequel, I sunk an ungodly amount of time into that game.
Mysims Agents was iconic on another level. The music, the character stories, the missions... Just 10/10
I had the DS version of the first MySims, and it truly was a whole other game! The MC had just moved to a town and the mayor needed their help making the place regain its appeal. Through mini-games and interactions with characters and tourists, we could unlock new buildings and zones (including an island with a casino, a forest, a mountain, a beach, etc.). Decorating was nothing like the Wii version, but we could decorate and craft furniture by choosing the item from a list of objects in editing mode. Also, we could still personalize furniture (patterns and colours) in the furniture store.
I loved MySims on the wii, had it on the DS as well I think and I'm pretty sure it was like... a completely different game? Gino made cakes, you couldnt build your own furniture, like from what I remember the DS MySims was just a whole other game haha

Can't speak for the original, but I had MySims Kingdom DS and it was an *entirely* different game from MySims Kingdom Wii. (It was also kind of disappointing--I feel like it should have been longer than it was).
Omg the nostalgia~ Used to spend my summers playing the My Sims, I was so disappointed when the My Sims Agents ended on a cliffhanger but then I’d just play them all over again 😂

God I loved my sims agents so much this sent me. As a kid I replayed that game the whole way through a couple times. Totally fair about the ending. For me I really liked the world design, and the heavy story was my jam.
I actually love dispatch texts, it's wild to think with all the agents combinations and sending them on even missions they would hate would have dialog... I hope someone manages to grab them all someday!

My sims Agents on the DS was my absolute favorite, though I never beat it. I feel like the story was completely different from the one on the wii, cause none of that storyline was familiar at all 😂

This is so cathartic for me. I couldn’t for the life of me remember what this game was called. I had it on the family computer, I played it when I was like 5. I have vivid memories of switching from this, to an ISpy haunted house game, to a cat game I can’t remember the name of but I know the music was just cats meowing. Now I just gotta figure out what the cat game was called

I think this type of game would take off pretty good on the switch :) i remember these a lot more fondly than the actual sims lol and it seems the way the gameplay is and how the dialogue even is formatted that i think nintendo has drawn a lot of inspo from
not even gonna lie ive been going through the hardest break-up of all time and one thing that has been getting me thru is playing this game again. it’s such a good distraction and nostalgia does wonders.

Yes!! These games were my childhood too! I so wish they would start making mysims games again. Something deep down is telling me they would do just as well, if not better, than animal crossing if they played their cards right. I personally think focusing on the characters they already have and developing their storylines would have been a better move than mysims party or skyheroes (even though I love those games too).

i received my sims party on DS as a gift as a kid, and it was my JAM! i worked sooo hard at those minigames with my DS lite's slightly messed up touch-screen
MySims could be SO MUCH if only the company cared the slightest bit of what the community asks. It could be bigger than AC if they add the right elements and mix things from the og mysims and kingdom. Or have the questy side of kingdom as dlc for example.
I really wish they'd give it a shot. Mysims has the character and style a lot of cozy games miss imo (but maybe that's my nonstalgia talking lol).

I played Kingdom so much!! I had the original MySims too but my disc was bugged and froze at a certain point so I never got to finish it. So glad to see someone talking about it!

As much as I don't understand how you could not love mysims agent, I've got to agree on the ending.
My sister and I finished it 100% bc we absolutely loved it and even then it was tedious. We finished the story before finishing all the side quests so we ended up letting our game play doing nothing, waiting for the pop ups lmao. And then we got the end wich left us wanting for a sequel. There was talk of one where you would go into the nightmare crown, that would have been awesome.
Overall i dont think the lack of sandboxing justifies such a harsh critic on the story and stuff but to each their own as you said 😢
liss i gotta be honest. i LOVE your long videos about different games like this, and im not usually someone who likes to branch out with videos i watch. tbh i'll watch anything and everything you upload. you have such a great personality and are super entertaining to watch! ok enough of that i just wanna say that these games look so cute and i had never even heard of them before besides from when Kay played the original my sims. they look so cute and i think ill give them a try now! or hopefully they bring back my sims in a remastered version :,)

I've only every played mysims on the DS, I don't remember much aside from decorating the house but I know I had a lot of fun playing it :') this really unlocked some memories for me omg

I wasn’t a child when I played these, but they were games I played just after I had my first child. It was a chill game to play on our Wii during baby naps. They kept me playing Sims games when I couldn’t play the main Sims series.
Before that, release the Alice IP back to American Mcgee, because they're not going to do anything with it, or if they do decide to do something with it, will only trample and sully the legacy Mcgee made. Still super scummy of them to tell Mcgee they'd consider giving him a shot at making a new Alice game if he had a working game document and drummed enough interest, which he did with the community after 10 long years, only for EA to spit in his, and the community's, face 😡
Second this!!!! They wouldn’t let him buy it back or let him continue it on. It’s unfortunate because McGee doesn’t want to make games anymore and even if EA gave him back the IP, he wouldn’t do anything. He’s so burnt out

I LOVED THIS SERIES! I especially remember customizing my personal island in mysims kingdom for HOURS! I also used to build gates around sims I didn’t like so they couldn’t roam freely 😂

i love the my sims series, especially my sims agents! played everything on my ds because me and my friends could play at each others house next to each other or on bus rides etc. ! Later on i played MySims and Kingdom on my Wii, so i actually need to play Agents for the Wii asap 🙏🏼
Here are some moments that filled my chest with strong nostalgia from when I played *Wii My Sims Agents.*
34:48 The fun and never frustratingly challenging cog puzzles.
34:58 Hearing the clue discovery notes was so satisfying, like the slow build up of anticipation.
35:46 I was actually invested in hearing about their side stories.
36:00 Hearing that quick ring is on par with those guitar riffs that just sounds pleasing to the ears.
36:10 This one just like the other puzzles was so interesting and fun to me back then.
37:31 The customizable floors were so satisfying and fun which left me wanting more floors to decorate.
38:05 This one I remember struggling with sometimes but it was never to the point of being annoying and unlikeable.
44:59 I remember thinking that the dispatch missions would end the story including what happened with the portal and Evelyn but was greatly disappointed when that didn’t happen.
Thank you so much for unlocking this mega nostalgia bomb inside of me! I've spend days on mySims Wii and it was honestly one of my favorite childhood memories.

ohh gooood i remember this series…it tugs at my heart so bad…i have my own wii u, and before that i had a wii, but since my step sister had the actual game and not me, i can’t play it bc it’s not mine. she introduced me to this game back when i was at least 8 or so, maybe 9, and i’ve loved it ever since. this was such a time for me, back in the earlier 2000s (i’m a 2006 baby).

i literally just played through all of mysims on pc. i loved it and wanted to experience the magic again. as a kid, i played the original, kingdom, agents, party, and racing. my favorites are tied between the original and kingdom :)
Oh the point of the friend meter in MS 1 is if you max them out you get a unique blueprint for new furniture. Like one of the sport bros gives you a soccer couch, one of the cutey townees gives you the blueprint for a tulip bed made of actual tulip essencs- not blocks.

I was thinking about My sims kingdom a few weeks ago and I only could remember and articulate the vibes as a somewhat animal crossing building game with a bunch of lands like spooky land and there was a princess. (the pigs and other round animals are maybe the best part of the game and the beeping sound of the pickaxe/ metal detector haunts my dreams)
MySims Agents is unironically in my top 5 games of all time ❤ It was the very first game I ever bought with my own money when I was like 10 years old. It was on sale at my local toy store and it just captivated me, it looked so cool. Somehow I was able to convince my mom that I was really sure I wanted it (mind you, I didnt even have a Wii at this point yet, it was due for pick up the next week😂) So glad she allowed 10 year old me to spend those 10 euros on this game, it was one of the most magical gaming experiences Ive ever had and still replay it regularly with fondness ☺️
