Heavy rain and hail hit the Colombian capital Bogota.
This Saturday, April 20, Bogotá experienced heavy rain and hail at the height of the crisis due to water shortages. Several images and videos shared by users on social media capture the scale of this climate phenomenon.
Residents of several localities in the national capital witnessed hail and heavy rain around midday and part of the day this Saturday.
These events led to flooding on several main avenues of the capital.
According to the District Institute for Risk and Climate Change Management of Bogota, the heaviest rainfall occurred in cities such as Usaquen and Suba, north of Bogota.
And in the areas of Engativa and Chapinero, precipitation of varying intensity was recorded.
