Here's some trivia for you: When Blitzkrieg retired he gave his gear to a young Jack Evans who did wrestle under that moniker for a while. Scotty Riggs (aka Scotty Anton) was in ECW as RVD's best friend that turned on him & was the one that RVD debuted the Van Terminator against.

Fun fact: Blitzkrieg was actually a California guy whose first WCW appearance was in a dark match teaming with Super Dragon (yes, PWG Super Dragon.) You can find the full tag match on CZcams.
You're right, Eric Bischoff's booking style was very similar to Tony Khan's where he would often put on "dream matches" with little or no build. Which is why it's ironic hearing him bash AEW to get attention now.

To address the DDP thing: I've seen a number of people criticize his run in retrospect, but as someone who was watching WCW at the time, he was more than deserving of his main event spot and title run.
    1. He main evented the 2nd-highest drawing WCW PPV of all-time, Bash at the Beach 1998. Granted, a lot of the success had to do with Dennis Rodman and Karl Malone, but it's still a credit to his name. Road Wild 1998, which he also main evented, was the 9th highest-drawing WCW PPV.
    2. His match with Goldberg was Goldberg's best match ever, his matches with Randy Savage were some of Savage's best matches in WCW, his match with Raven was Raven's best singles match in WCW. DDP wasn't a Chris Benoit-level worker, but he was more than capable of putting on great matches and getting the best out of his opponents.
    3. He was massively over. Even when he debuted in WWE as the stalker in 2001 (three years past his peak overness), he STILL got a massive reaction when he took off the mask.
Yes, he was friends with Eric Bischoff and Scott Hall, but he spent the better part of the 90's paying his dues, wrestling in the opening matches and jobbing to Marc Mero. He wasn't randomly given a main event spot because of his connections, he's someone who worked hard for six years in WCW before finally being given a chance to wrestle bigger-name talent.

Always thought blitzkrieg was gonna be a much bigger deal than he was, always thought he was very talented
