Lyrics:
Never win first place, I don't support the team
I can't take direction, and my socks are never
clean
Teachers dated me, my parents hated me
I was always in a fight cuz I can't do nothin'
right
Everyday I fight a war against the mirror
I can't take the person starin' back at me
I'm a hazard to myself
Don't let me get me
I'm my own worst enemy
Its bad when you annoy yourself
So irritating
Don't wanna be my friend no more
I wanna be somebody else" - Hudba

Still feel this in my soul
Just heard this song while working in a mall and was looking for the song for an hour
When I was a teenager, I felt like P!nk was one of the few people who understood
P!nk once said that when she was a teenager, music saved her life (or smth like that) but modern music can't do that. And I totally agree. When P!nk was younger, her music was about teenage problems which can be related to every teenager. Then she started singing about society, about love and relationships. And modern songs are just about big asses.
+Kate Templeton Not all of them, and P!nk's music is also modern. I think music speaks to people in different ways. But P!nk was very very important to me when I was growing up, alongside Fall Out Boy, Tokio Hotel and BFMV
Lemon Vermillion Well, I agree, not all of them. But the biggest part. P!nk helped me when I was having difficult times as a teenager. And so did Eminem, Evanescence, Linkin Park and some other. But I don't see any of modern singers helping kids to get through their problems.
+Kate Templeton I agree that it seems that way but since we're past our angsty teenage days I think it's hard to tell
Lemon Vermillion well yeah, maybe.
Who's listening to this song in 2025 after the war?
It’s eerie how its meaning deepens now. 🥺
americans would not have been able to cope with the post-9/11 depression if it wasn't for this woman's angsty pop-rock music.
thank you, p!nk.
Pink is jewish
Pink's been screaming "be yourself and be different" since day one and way before it was even cool
After Madonna :)
Primadonna Queen yeah (:
Ieuan Morgan stop being rude
+Glenn Purdy They just said it. P!nk did it
Lovely Cat Exactly! Pink did that! The others just said it
"Every day I fight a war against the mirror"
"I'm my worst enemy"
So fucking true!
She's also a superstar because she's ugly and not paid to sing the songs somebody else wrote for her, right?

I was bullied really bad in middle school and high school… my mom bought me this CD, because she knew I really liked Pink, and thought it would be a good listen for me. She was right.
That year, Pink played at the Rose Garden on my 12th birthday, and my mom got me front row tickets. My mom got her attention and told her it was my birthday, and she sung “happy birthday” to me. I’ll never forget that moment. I was so truly happy that my favorite artist actually did that for me. It made me a pink fan for life. Oh, and I got awesome bragging rights!! Thank you Pink! I love you and your music.
This made me cry🥲
Your mom sounds like she really cared
You have a good mom

Used to and still cry singing along to this song. I was a teenager then but I'm nearly 40 now. Society hasn't changed. It's still cruel.

Rewatching a clip from 13 years ago, I understand that it is better than 80% of modern clips. It’s the same with music, listening to old rock songs of this type. I understand that they are better than most modern tracks :D

she's so much more beautiful than Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, etc. because she doesn't try as hard to be "pretty" she's just true to herself and it comes across very real and honest. This is the song EVERY teenager should be made to listen to when they're going through changes and facing peer pressure and all that!

Amarra Fusco Don't ever let anyone tell you that you are not good enough. School doesn't last forever. I am a lot older now and those *rseh*les who were nasty to me are not so flash now. If they do not want to be your friend then don't even acknowledge them and walk away. There are other people worthy of your friendship that you probably haven't even found yet because those who are nasty are distracting you.

She never sold out to the system she is her own person and does it her way, that's what I admire about her.
I disagree - she embraces LGTB+ community to get albums sold. Own person? She tried to be TLC member but because it didn't get well, she decided to be Britney Spears with this album. Then she tried to be a rock star with pop songs. Although she screams "I am original" all the time, it doesn't mean she is original.

I think so many of us can relate to this song so much... everyone around us always seems successful and happy, with great jobs, relatioships, social life, etc., always sharing pictures of themselves on vacation or otherwise having fun on Facebook, and it feels like we're the only ones miserable. It's probably in large part an illusion, and the people who show off and try to give the impression that they have a great life are just as miserable deep down, but it's hard to convince yourself of that...
