What a great footballer & a great captain. No one attacked the football like Kelly did. He was also voted the AFL Players Association's Most Courageous Player in 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 2000 as voted by his peers, A LEGEND.
It's awesome that footballers from country towns and the regions are always a good laugh, great characters and can tell a good story. Kelly is no exception

I will say love watching the show. Is good to look at players of the past each week which is from my era growing up. But does not that say something of how popular this show is that people love seeing players of the past ? Compared to todays footy which is so boring and the coaches ... my god they have no idea. Is like every team these days needs about 8 coaches approx and they still cant get it right. To all young people today am telling you now the game was so much better back in 80' & 90's era. But last 10 years approx has been boring. I cant bring myself to go see a game anymore. Back during 80's & 90's was more attacking, kicking long and forward line players that drew people to the game to watch such as Ablett snr, Dunstall, Lockett, Modra, Carey, etc. They led to the ball for midfielders to kick too. I would go and watch games that my team I support was playing in as was so good back then, as was faster and more direct. Todays footy is kick backwards, sideways, hold up play to slow it down, if is possible as game is slow already, which is why the game is so low scoring which is BORING !! I cant get todays game that the players in defence and midfield, short pass, short pass, short pass, then they bomb it to the forward line. OMG why they do that ? They dont seem to have a forward leading to the ball anymore. Tha game the way it it is ugly and not worth watching. Problem is the coaches dictate players to much these days and dont let players play their natural skills. And I am over the seeing games where both whole teams are following the ball, is too congested that way it looks like the way the football might have been played over 100 years ago. I loved footy when I was young as was so much better to watch. My sons now do not have much interest even one of my sons said not long ago the game is too slow now so is not interested in it. But I could be wrong considering the footy during 1930's era seemed to have been hgiher scoring than todays slow crap footy from what I have seen on past results. But yeah todays players are so much fitter and athletic that the past players lol. BRING BACK FOOTY THE WAY IT WAS PLAYED IN PAST PLEASE !!
