Sim autonomy is so terrible that whenever they make a pack where the gameplay involves doing things with other Sims, you already know it's not going to work.

"Smart Sims" they claimed for The Sims 4 and yet they are arguably even dumber then the sims in The Sims 3 which The Sims 3 came out in 2009

@@barbarbar3084 I think with Growing Together, SimDa App by Little mSam (a mod) and Wicked Whims you have the content from Lovestruck. We already have an attraction system mod that works incredibly well in my opinion, I dont need giving away 40 dollars in this expansion pack

I think EA's biggest issue with the romance pack is that whatever they do is never going to be as fun as Wicked Whims 😂

It's baffling to me how stuff packs and game packs feel so much more fleshed out than expansion packs.
Especially recently the smaller packs have been totally way more worth the money. Werewolves went in depth with a better version of the vampires system, crystal creations had a very fleshed out skill system and paranormal stuff had so much gameplay for a stuff pack. It’s like we traded expansion packs being good for the other two
The funny thing is, in the older Sims 4 eras it was the opposite. Expansion packs were rather good while game and stuff packs (Outdoor Retreat and Luxury Party) were horrendous. Now the tables have turned
I imagine because it focuses on one small feature and hyper focuses on it so it is just one fleshed out feature rather then about 5 or 6 features that were not fully thought out or realized stuff like Vampires and Paranormal Stuff work so well because it just focuses on one small thing and does it well
I feel like they're Trying to milk as much money out of the game before paralives etc goes into early access. And, that's hypothetically why the party kit felt like rejected items from other packs that had no home. (Meaning some kits feel planned because they were part of a long term plan, some packs are shoe horned in last minute to make bank)
Which has me thinking that once it's released they might try to restructure pricing, fold packs into the base game, and/or abandon the game (depending on how money goes as releases happen).
All in all I'm super nervous about the future of the sims. So I'm not buying anything even though I have a few packs I've finally decided I want.
to this day Tiny Living is the only pack I can say I am 100% happy with.
They should release a null expansion pack. With no items and no gameplay. Nothing in it. I'm sure the community would buy it still. And it would be broken too.

People are somehow making it seem like Lovestruck is worth $40... i'm convinced that if they made an expansion pack with 5 items they'll still justify it.

that hotel is soooo ugly like it legit looks like it’d be your first ever Sims build - just a cube, 1 plain colour for the walls, haven’t figured out how to do roofs so you don’t include any, some funky signs on the wall bc you came across those in the buy menu and thought they looked cool, zero decoration on the exterior/landscaping 🥴

EA: pay us $40 for an app to meet other sims and rabbit hole activities.
Me with the MCC mod and can just summon anyone to my house at anytime:
Honestly MCCC is a work around, I use it to "pretend" sims I know bought their kids with them so our kids can meet (one of many examples). I would prefer a better system in game over using MCCC as it takes away the actual gameplay fun of it when it's not accomplishable through organic means in game.

It's a doll house game and the Sims 4 is so limited in what it can do you're better off imagining stuff happening than paying 40 bucks on something that's basically the same thing. We all know lovestruck isn't going to revolutionize the game. And even if it did, you can't go on dates because the concept of eating out in the Sims is also behind a paywall AND it's broken beyond repair. The world's aren't interesting enough to go on outdoorsy dates. You're better off just imagining stuff for free.
@@Mehhhhhhhh You can date in base game. The only place you can take a date isn’t restaurants. You can date at bars, lounges, and the park…or at your house to be honest without any packs. You can also teleport with cheats, you don’t need mods. It just makes it easier. You can also group sims into groups for group actions in base game. It really is a matter of extras you think are worth it or not, lovestruck isn’t proving itself to be worth it so far.
Also controversial, I like Dine Out. It honestly works just fine for me. It is stupidly programed, but I have had it work just fine.
Wicked Whims, SimDa app and Invite Family Member. All the needed features you guys are talking about are there. The only thing is that Cupid‘s corner might be better in terms of actually seeing your options and some info about them to make a better choice and in SimDa I just go on random dates and sometimes it’s such a bad mismatch but hey. Not sure it’s worth 40€ still

I honestly don't see why I would send my sims to a rabbit hole to woohoo. I'm sure the only thing that will happen is that they'll get a moodlet from woohooing in a motel and that's it 🤡
Every single time you woohoo it's a rabbit hole. Just because a bed shakes, or fireworks shoot out of your rabbit hole doesn't mean there is actually anything happening, or that somehow, you get to see anything.
Woohoo is based around the rabbit hole. Unless they rehaul that function of the game, every place to woohoo will be, by default, a rabbit hole.

I wish the motel was there so we could get a room, have room service etc. So that's why I don't see a point in having it if it's just a rabbit hole. @@wickywickyjoka I think the point is what appeal is there in a giant prop box over a Sims bed or even the picnic blanket which goofy as it is, feels more scene immersive. I don’t need to see the full act, don’t care. But at least crawling into the bed happens while I am with them inside the house. In their story.
The hotel feels particularly insulting not because of being a whoohoo spot, but because of being a hotel. Even outside the context of lovestruck, they have been wanted for so long. And they give us a giant ugly rabbit hole box instead of an actual hotel lot type. Even if its just something we can visit and not play from the owner perspective.

Love hotels include sleeping over, too, so just having an entire building just for sims to woohoo and walk out is kinda...
One thing that I noticed was that the tall apartment buildings, like the ones that you can see in the beginning of the gameplay trailer for lovestruck are the same buildings that you can find in the San Myshuno art district, they just have a different color.
And it looks like we might not even get regular apartments. They just keep showing the same penthouse over and over.😬

I bet, there will be a bug for the romance stuff. like people randomly flirting, or not flirting at all or the button for interaction will be broken, but there will be something broken just like horse ranch when it released, and names didn't show. it will be a trainwreck.
Its also pretty useless because dating and breaking up in the Sims is something you can do in minutes. Maybe the implementation of turn ins and turn offs will make things more challenging but its going to be very shallow things like. "Bella Goth doesn't like fitness and sunglasses"
I am mostly afraid it will be overtuned. Like romantically reserved sims will find it impossible to date instead of merely a fun challenge to work through. And "Lovebug" sims will just whoohoo in a second of gameplay (you know, like normal).

Thats why i mention about the, people flirting randomly or excessively or the opposite to others while already being married to someone else. Especially with those new traits.

growing together had a bug were, if you aged infants in cas to adults the sim would be glitch forever. achieving milestones as a adult. causing morphing. then horse ranch, with the missing names and horse walking backward through walls. at launch, broken textures too.
high school years had the notorious mean bug which lasted a year. in cats and dogs, there was bug when the animal panicked like a normal sim when there was fire...it is just predictable.
I think this pack is not worth an expansion pack. They should make it a Game Pack like My Weeding Disaster

Dine out gameplay is trash and is so buggy, like MWS. I think the best Game packs are: Jungle Adventure, Strangerville, Parenthood, Realm of Magic, Werewolves and Vampires. Dream Home Decorator comes with good furniture but the gameplay is trash

It seems like pretty much the only features lovestruck will come with is a few meaningless romantic animations, and a dating app which probably wont be that different from just calling a sim and asking them to come over or go out with you. I honestly think these features could've just been a base game update. There have been base game updates that have come with new apps and interactions before, so I find it so greedy that they're pricing this to be almost as expensive as a lot of big AAA games, just for a base game update worth of content

i wish they added hotels with this, the possibility to make ur own love hotel wouldve been really fun, it would be good to stage out affairs and things like that.
this really should have been part of wedding stories, or romantic garden, or get together, or vintage glamour, or city living, or a little bit in each. I'm so done with fractions of packs and expansions. Castle estate had like 4 effing items and nothing else and they tried charging $5 for it.

I wish this pack would've brought back the romantic chemistry system from Sims 2. That way, you could use the dating app to filter out the Sims you're not attracted to, physically and by personality. 😮💨

Ts2 has some of the most intricate systems I've seen in such a game (of course it made it a bit prone for glitches too), I miss that game made with love.

I still don't get what is here that makes it an expansion pack. Like what have they not shown? I simply can't believe they would be so outrageous to just sell this with what we've seen and state that it's enough for an expansion pack. Even THEY can't be that crazy, there must be something here that justifies it that they've simply not shown. I'm genuinely mind-blown about this.

The for rent pack still doesn't work. The WHOLE REASON FOR THE PACK....be a landlord......DOESNT WORK. I still haven't collected rent as a landlord....EVER. This is a joke. It's stupid. EA is TRASH.
Its not just MWS, its every goaled event in game. I can maybe have a decent time with around four sims, but like any big goaled events (like dinner parties and slumber parties) are almost destined to fail with five or more sims. So the lovestruck dates may work since in most cases it will only be two sims. That being said, for all intents and purposes its not that special its just another event type like every other event type and doesn’t feel like a core feature worth expansion pack price.
this!!! i have tried several times to host house/ dinner parties and I keep getting embarrassed, sad, and tense moodlets because my sims cannot successfully host a party its incredibly frustrating
I hate the event goals I wish I could just host the events without these goals because it punishes me for the AI not working correctly this is a problem with almost every pack not just MWS I love the world of get together but the club meetings barely work because they rely on a large group of Sims doing what is assigned to them this same problem also exists in The Sims 4 Seasons making holiday's is fun you know what is not fun? the sad moodlet your Sim gets because the AI did not work on your custom holiday or even worse you are too busy taking care of your Sim's needs that you fail a holiday and get punished for it like EA not everyone celebrates holiday's why am I getting punished for taking care of my sim?
The interaction & multi-tasking system is fundamentally broken. It's why these parties don't work; your Sims are trying to doing everything all at once which lags the game and makes it that they just walk around in circles. Its also why infants and toddlers are very laggy to have; the adult Sims are constantly checking for care interactions. I once I had to travel to an empty lot just to feed an infant because the six adults in the house were making it impossible for the mother to do so constantly pinging & overruling her actions.

To be honest I don't mind rabbit holes, but at least they could've been creative with them. And for fox sake animated sims walking inside (like in ts3 - opening doors, sims walking in, disapearing behind closed doors) and not disapearing before closed doors.

Well, I think there are more and more of us. I personally stopped buying anything after Werewolves (which was actually cool, but nothing after it really convinced me). I already feel like "For Rent" didn't sell well. This is an aftereffect of "Horse Ranch," which seemed very, very empty. And since "For Rent" was glitchy, well...

I didn't mean to imply that it will collapse very soon, like with the "Lovestruck" pack release. Unfortunately, I agree with you that it will still take some time for enough of us to stop buying these scam packs. There are so many people who play this game that even 'more and more' still leaves a lot of pack collectors (love that term, I'm stealing it XD) giving money to EA. Although I really think there is a shift happening, it's probably a slow one. The new bug-fixing team is a good sign that this shift is real. Now, how long it will last? We know EA's way of doing things, so...
the fact that in the EA app there is an ad advertising “get dating” with different packs shows that this is a cash grab. Romance is now boiled down to 10 different packs. Anyone who is genuinely excited for this, I feel sorry for them.

Like absolutely the hell not I won’t be purchasing 3 different packs in preparation for a new, VERY expensive pack so I can have a full dating experience that won’t even work properly in the end anyway 🙄 F all the way off

In the sims 4 seasons, they have an option to create your own holidays (with the ability to select activities for the holiday). If dates work similarly to that than hopefully there are no bugs like my wedding stories.
@@alliem2858 Actually dates will work like the weeding system in My Weeding Disaster if you noticed it in the "gameplay reveal" last week. They actually took the weeding system and turned it on a dating system for this pack. So it probably will be broken if EA dont get serious with testing their products properly, (thing they never care about)

Running a wedding in MWS is like herding cats, and I always turn off Social Bunny because it's useless for my gameplay style. But maybe Cupid's Corner will be more useful, since you can invite Sims your Sim doesn't already know yet. At the very least… it's Uber Eats for your vampire Sims. 🧛🏼📱

Sims 3 is superior even in terms of rabbit holes. Like, I played it do long ago so my memories may be distortee (i am gonna Play sims3 soon!)). I remember for example, that rabbit holes cariers had an actual building. It was rabbit hole, but at least my other SIM could go there and make a 'surprise, I am taking you on afterwork date!'. You could go to rabbit hole cinema and just watch movie like in Sims 4 (basen gamę, not paywall like Sims 4) a but also had an different options, like try to steak something or woohoo in this location. These rabbit holes were still giving you some options for a storytelling. I also hate how moods doesn't have any impact on rabbit holes in Sims 4. In Sims 3, when my Sim is sleep deprived, orvery sad, it was impossible to make them 'work hard'. yThe option was grayed out, or you could pick it but only for like 1-2 hours, then your SIM was like 'enough'. Sims4 rabbit hole career/school are like alternator reality were your Sim forgets they are going thru divorcee, seeing their father drowning and mom dying in fire same day. When teen SIM was ending their rabbit hole school they were still spawning near the school, so you could Ask them to go directly home, or make an detour, maybe hang out in park for a while or something.
And the most important, i was able to actually control all my Sims. So the ones i send to rabbit hole were doing their rabbit hole thing and I could do important things with Sims i needed more direct focus at given moment. When Sims 4....I can send the Bob and Eliza to rabbit hole woohoo? And i just need to stay there, watching them rabbiting holing. Bc trying to switch to another Sim crashwthe rabbit hole 🤷🤷🤷

I know we always hear every time a pack comes out that it shouldn't be a EP or a GP and should be sold for less bc it doesn't bring enoguh gameplay or whatever to justify said type of pack, but it's true and it's been true for a couple years now. When I look back to past packs it didn't use to be like that, TS4 always felt lacking but since a couple years ago it got to an outrageous point in my opinion. I don't want to be a Karen, I wish I didn't have to complain about EAs exploitive ways, but here we are, and aside from ppl complaining bc they want to be haters I think it's truly unacceptable that we get charged so much for so little time after time, and even worse, cause with every pack that comes the game breaks more and more. The bugs and glitches are a rant for another day, but the state of such expensive game is unacceptable to me and I think it shouldn't be brushed off or justified in the ways I've seen some ppl justify it 💀⚰️ my hope would be that all of us, but specially ppl with a platform... Would raise their concerns for the state of the game and actually get EA to listen once and for all, but that's never going to happen, I know, so I guess I'll just play the game until EA gets tired of or can't even open it from the bugs and glitches (so any time now lmao)

Yeah, it does seem to be a left overs pack, even an actual left overs pack might be a more interesting idea than the dingy place thay gave us to woohoo. As for the gravy saying, here in Mexico we say "La misma gata, pero revolcada" which basically means the same as the gravy thing, though the literal translation might sound funnier

I have found that the weddings work pretty well now. I think people try to cram in all the things into one event and that goes poorly. This pack was supposed to have bach parties, rehearsal dinners, and then the weddings and receptions. If you divide up the events you can do in the separate things so that the directions do not cross each other then it goes more smoothly. I have had great success and I have had a lot of fun with it. It has made me slow down and enjoy story play and not just rushing challenges all the time. I enjoy the change of pace, dates will be fun for this as well. :D
I have given up buying packs at this point. I only realized when i kept buying more and more packs in hopes that it would bring more life to the game and sims, and to also bring back the amazing experiences i had when i played the sims 2 and 3. But no, it all feels boring and superficial. I have a really good time building houses but as soon as i hit play all the fun goes away, and the expansion packs feel like a potential solution to all that but they’re not. Of course this is just my opinion and sorry for the rant

@@alle2740 The problem is EA knows modders after this pack release will make mods to improve their shallow gameplay, that's why they dont care and left work for modders, that's how they save money. They dont actually invest money in The Sims 4, they just recycle things like Family Dynamics, the Weeding Sytem from My Weeding Disaster and turn ons and turn offs actually work like friendship ones that come with Growing Together. They recycle animations and the new ones are so bad, like the burrito blanket woohoo one. Also, putting Cuddling in bed behind a paywall when this interaction has been in all sims base game its a shame in my opinion. This whole expansion pack should be base game. The Sims 3 had a base game attraction system.

At this point what even is the difference between an expansion pack and a game pack? Like other than price? Cause like if game packs didn't have a world that'd make logical sense. Kits are either cas or build, stuff packs are both build and cas but no gameplay, game packs SHOULD be cas, build, and a little gameplay, and then expansion packs SHOULD include a world and more gameplay. But from what I've seen most (if not all) game packs come with a world and a few have more gameplay than expansion packs... so like what's the deal? What is EA's excuse for the higher price on expansion packs??? Make it make sense!
It's probably going to miss opportunities, have broken features and recycle content like their packs tend to... I will only consider getting it if the world looks nice because I've wanted a non san myshuno city for a long time
Social Bunny has its uses, for when I restart and want to quickly do the Strangerville stuff over. If they wanted to do something daring, they should add marriages to neighbourhood stories, all my sims are out here being single parents and never marrying.

I like social bunny for increasing my sims relationships with friends without hanging out with them (if you need a best friend, or a love interest), all you have to do is tag them, send them messages and react to their posts to increase friendship!
Game play in a life simulation game is just interactions. We need to start asking for specific activities. EA owes you money cause that is literally Shanice Shanice with red hair in the game play trailer.👀🤦🏾♀️💵💰🤣
I didnt notice the pool before. I cant believe they show in the official trailer the tool is already glitch. I knew the hotel would be rabbit hole, its like the movie theater from GT, its fun a few times then u forget it exist because its not that interesting.
Since CZcamsrs purely make building videos mostly, they focus solely on build/ buy items and then make another convoluted system that makes your sims panel pages long.

i've unintentionally stopped paying attention to the type of dlc long ago because it doesn't seem to make big difference, but i got a bit baffled when you reminded me it is an expansion pack with the matchmaker career and the love hotels being rabbit holes. disappointing but not surprising
The worlds in newer packs being so huge has two major downfalls:
- It feels crowded but empty at the same time. San Sequoia has this effect really bad.
- It takes forever for Sims to move around in it. The worst is when a Sim on the other side of the map decides to butt into your conversation spontaneously and your current conversing Sims will cease all action until then. In Willow Creek, that's not too bad as that Sim will be there shortly. When I had his happen in Henford-on-Bagley in the farmland area it took 2 in-game hours for someone to run over there.
Guarantee you whatever this new world in this pack is (I forgot the name) its going to be vast and empty with 8 lots tops. Windenburg truly was the peak of the Sims 4 world design and it will never be matched.

You know I personally wouldn’t complain as much about world size if that actually translated to lot amounts. Just because a world has a lot of “playable” set dressing doesn’t mean that it’s a big world.
My BIGGEST complaint is how, modders make more coherent, fun, in depth content, with gameplay that actually works perfectly, and most of them are just random people making things in their bedroom; where as EA, a million dollar company, can’t make one pack where any of those are true.
I mean full offense to the people who make any of these awful houses / buildings in these worlds 😭

this would've been the perfect pack to actually roll out hotels, but of course it's a rabbit hole. Also it seems like the new turn on's/off's system is just like the likes/dislikes system, which works fine, but it means that it's not really a new gameplay feature but a reskin of one you sold us a year ago, just like the deciding the dates feature.
As someone who has been missing dating apps and turn ons/offs from previous Sims games, I’m super excited! However, if those are the only good things about it, I won’t be spending too much money on this pack and wait until it goes on sale.
a lot of people will just buy this EP game because it's like a must have in the collector chain and EA knows it... I understand you because you're doing reviews so it's probably worth it but not for most regular players. They only get disappointment. I gave up on this game couple years ago. Just building in this game was fun...
The problem with all of these new 'packs' and 'Kits' is that there are already modders who do spectacular work to include similar and larger mods for the game. And it's not for cash grab either. Modders were and are able to provide more detailed content for free so why would we want to buy these packs that will end up being underwhelming anyway?

ive had a gold wedding you just check the sims paths through the play so the toast bucket needs to be away from walls and tables so the sims can gather as an example

They are seemingly trying to kill it, as we know it, so we can't complain with the new sims, project renee. Multiplayer and live service. I mean, I knew it was coming but I'm still sad somehow.

They never seem to have a natural interest in _anyone_ . I freaking have to force them and it's weird and clunky. I just want them to be able to Scope the Room and say who they like or not!
In New Zealand, expansion packs have been $50. Lovestruck has increased to $70, and I'm really hoping it's worth the increase 🙏🏻

Satch, let's get real: that is NOT a love hotel. That is a motel in a sleazy part of Ciudad Enamorada. 😂😂😂 It is the only reason why I can think about why they made such ugly buildings. And we know they can make beautiful worlds if they want: I know that Horse Ranch is not consensual (though I really enjoy the new features and love the world... even if I concede it is very shallow in comparison to Get Together or City Living), but the world is beautiful. Especially that canyon area. Other beautiful worlds are Windenburg (I wish we had other special lots like those ones... I keep throwing parties at the ruins or on the cliffs), some neighbours of Brindleton Bay, Sulani, Henford-on-Bagley, Mt. Komorebi and, in my opinion, Moonwood Mill.
What good is having a big world if there is absolutely nothing to do in it? This pack shouldn’t be marketed as an expansion.

To be honest, planning the date should work pretty okay if the interactions are not new and don't ask more than one involved sim. The main bad thing with My Wedding Disaster is the idea of breaking down interactions that had autonomous actions from wedding guests become a micromanagement disaster. (BG weddings have wedding guests attend to the wedding ceremony on their own and that was so great!)
Really salty that MWS and Lovestruck is not a single pack as it the items would have been great for the honeymoon portion as well (and MWS elements may have been okay as selling points).
This pack is just scraps of other stuffs and I think everyone already owning Growing Together wonders if both compatibility will even be able to work together.
Outings are time consuming. Multi-Sim interactions are BROKEN. Relationships are split amongst a million packs we had to individually pay for. Build/Buy seems rehashed. Rabbitholes were "banned" and now is the default. This pack will break some of the most beloved mods for a while.
It just feels so empty and shallow. Like people complained that Sims 4 wasn't adult enough, so they took a band-aid and slapped it on the wound, but the band-aid doesnt stick and just keeps falling off, lmao.

Thinking about it, the love hotel rabbit hole thing. In the sims 3, we had many rabbit holes with this where sims could woohoo as an invisible interaction. so nothing extraordinary. They didn’t even try to do something with the building like all the references we can see on the internet.
i remember the sims 3 into the future came with a big world, new cars, jet packs, floating skateboard, robots, and so much more. the sims 4 will just have a couple reused features and call that an expansion pack. they added nothing that a mod couldnt do.
lovestruck is literally just wonderful whims but for console players, idk why anyone with a pc would buy it that isnt a youtuber, lovestruck, growing together and parenthood all could have been one thing... and those are the ones i remember, so much dlc
