We just bought our first Tesla last month, a 2023 Model 3 for my wife. I went from skeptic to fanboy within days of ownership. My one month review? Never going back. The biggest issue is figuring out how we can afford a Model Y for me! 😂

The nice thing about the route from Spokane to Seattle, there are several super chargers right off I-90. Super convenient and no range anxiety for me. Public charging in Spokane isn’t the best from what I’ve seen
Agreed. There are two superchargers in the Spokane area, but I've never used them as I charge at home.

You're going to love it!
So like so many owners myself included I you really like my Model Y.
But I still bemoan the lack of some basic safety features that even much cheaper cars have. Cross traffic warning doesn’t exist in a Tesla when backing up. And the most ridiculous is the removal of radar/Lidar and sonor. Regardless of what Mr.Musk says these are much needed features.
I think it might have cross traffic warning now. Do miss the USS but still hoping they'll duplicate that functionality with vision only.
I reviewed my Tesla just a while ago and forgot to talk about these features. I do think it has cross traffic alert though.
Interesting low key review. I enjoyed and appreciated not having someone yelling at me with overhype. I don’t have a Tesla but I’m thinking about it and yours was one of the best non sales pitch sales pitches. I bought the Bolt EUV and absolutely Love it! The all EV is so much better in every way than an ICE or even the CRV hybrid that I will trade out in the next 6 months. That’s where I’m thinking about something with longer range than our current 270. Yes the Bolt charges to higher than its rated range. The point you make repeatedly is that public chargers will become more numerous and that will completely eliminate range anxiety. In the meantime I plug in on level 2 at home a few hours a week and driving is nothing but fun and almost free. Thank you for taking time to do your video. I’m glad you love your Tesla. I’m thinking about the Model Y long range. I’m also thinking I need to rent one from Turo so I can test drive one before I commit. In any case, continued best of luck to you and Thanks Again!

We feel the same way about our Model Y, Its literally so amazing I still can't believe it after 2 years. It feels like a car 50 years in the future, compared to current gas cars. I'll never not own a Tesla from now on. Thanks for the Alexa skill app idea, I had no idea I could use that to pre condition my car, awesome!

My wife and I bought an inventory Model Y recently at a discount price (someone cancelled their order). Before that, we test drove one and then went and test drove Toyota, Honda, Kia and Hyundai SUV's. Model Y feels and drives like a luxury car from a future while other cars at about the same price feel just like regular boring cars. I cannot believe that we waited this long to get a Tesla. We have 240V/50A outlet in the garage and top it off every night at off-peak hours at dirt cheap electricity rates.
Only Tesla cars from now on until other car manufacturers catch up with technology and software. Tesla software is 20 years ahead of competition (I am a software engineer).

First time watching one of your videos. Excellent summary of the Y. Our 2023 only has 4k miles so far and I 💯 agree with your summary. We rarely drive our gas cars anymore and I'm convinced we are getting a second Tesla soon!
One other thing to add is that the 3/Y are both the highest rated crash safety cars on the road.

Just made a cross country trip in my 2023 model Y Tesla. 5500 miles round trip. Very enjoyable and educational.

Lithium Ion Tesla batterie can be charged 20% - 90% with lifespan about 200k km without noticeable degradation ( under 3% ) If you guys doing more than 200k kilometers it is worth to charge 20% to 80% it should you gives another 100k kilometers with degradation about 4% only

Our 2 Teslas are wonderful. I took advantage of the FSD swap too and upgraded from a ‘18 Model 3 Performance to a ‘23 Model 3 Performance. I’m glad you still use FSD. I remember that crazy turn it made last year. 😅

Thanks for your informative video on your model Y. I just got my new model Y LR in Aug 2023 and really enjoy the vehicle - has HW4 and newer cameras. There are some tips you mentioned which I will see how it goes here in Northern Illinois and in the snow. Maybe the vehicle would handle a little bit better by putting it in the "Chill" mode of driving. I will find out soon.
Being retired, I just drive around town and don't do long trips. I charge my vehicle at home from 70 percent up to 90 percent. This usually takes about 1.5 hours using my 220 volt outlet. Getting cooler now so I preheat my car before driving off with it. Using Navigation with the Tesla is amazing and easy to setup small trips. I also use voice commands allot.

I also like when parking close to a curb, the car’s onscreen goes to top view and shows how close you are to the curb. So far has saved the rims from curb rash. 👍🏻👍🏻

Wall Connectors are the easiest way to go, trouble free and it charges faster if you need it in a pinch.
Yeah, been waiting for the universal charger to be available for referral points as it apparently can handle bidirectional charging.

I enjoyed your 1 Year Tesla Y review! Your info about driving in the snow is very interesting, I think maybe turning off regen braking may be the best for the snow. My Y was delivered in June but I'm expecting to need to drive in snow soon.

Nice video. Thanks for the recap. I love my Tesla Model Y also. I was visiting a friend up your way recently and we took his Ioniq 5 on a short road-trip to Leavenworth, very scenic drive. Was a good day and a nice change from the 100 degree weather where I’m at.

@@teslaroundup it’s nice inside, roomy and comfortable. More of a traditional car feel with the gauges and such. I drove it just for a few minutes and it drove real nice also. It’s a nice car, not going to replace my Tesla though 🙂

Great video. thanks for creating. I think others had the same suggestions as you and they include some of the things you suggested in the new Cybertruck, such as being able to power your home and the drain plug for the rear storage for packing it with ice.

From a racing background… when the car starts sliding give it gas to straighten you out… using the brakes will only put you in the ditch or out of control
I was coming up on a stop sign, so no choice. ABS has worked fine for me in similar situations. What do you race?

Great video...not a Tesla owner here but an Ioniq5 owner. We love ours for pretty much all the reasons you stated! I am not a fan of the level of tech....just cannot get into doing everything on a screen.
My neighbour's has 2 Teslas (M3 and MY) nice cars no doubt, we swapped one day so he could drive our Ioniq and I took his M3.
We both loved each other's cars...pretty funny.
We love our I5 because it has a car type interior, with buttons, etc. I can appreciate the simplicity of the single display though. In any case the I5 was quieter than either of his cars (he pointed that out) but neither of his where the 23 models. I understand they have made significant improvements in that area.
We drive well over a 1000km a week so we do stack up the miles pretty quickly and we have had the same maintenance schedule...wiper fluid and tire rotations.
In any case the more EV's the better!

Interesting. I'd love to drive an I5. What's the range? I think a lot of folks prefer the more traditional car interior,.
@teslaroundup during the summer and just local driving we regularly get 450 - 500 KM on the highway at cruising speed it drops to 400 - 430 KM.
Great vehicle, of course the Tesla charging network is very dependable and that is a huge plus. That being said we travel extensively (and next week leaving on a 14,000 KM road trip) and we have no issues with charging. The biggest issue we have with the I5 is that it charges so quickly we do not have as much time for having a rest! 🤣
On a decent sized charger it charges at a max of 240kw so about 18 minutes from 10% - 80%. And even at smaller chargers it still charges very quickly. We had a Hyundai Kona that charged at a max of 77kw and we had plenty of time for lunches, etc.
We managed to travel extensively with that car so now with the I5 it is just a lot better!

I love my Tesla too! And thanks for all the tips! Regen braking hit me during a snow storm out of Duluth, MN. I accelerated my way out of it. I think your advice was to break your way out. I think its now possible to turn off Regan braking. That would be my choice!
I couldn't accelerate out of mine as approaching a stop sign. If you figure out a way to turn off regen please let me know. I can't seem to find it.

I had the same tires on my Cadillac xt4. They were done at 48k. Probably a little earlier than that. They drove really nice though.

They're great cars aren't they? Did you feel the boost was worth it?
My 2018 Model 3 didn’t have the tint that my new 2023 Model Y has. But as you said you look up a just see yourself. 😂 I like the darker tint, on my Model Y. The Model 3 was like a greenhouse. I had to buy covers for it, or roast like a chicken. 😮
The car seats on both cars are marvelous, super comfortable. My friends leather interior of his Mazda 3 are horrible in comparison. Butt killers. 😂 The giggle pedal, caused my brother to spill his drink all over his chest. So much for bragging about the instant torque in the car. He was very upset.

I appreciate the information about the Tesla Model Y. While I prefer the look of the Model 3 over the Model Y, it's evident that the Model Y offers the practical extra space that's essential for my camping trips. Thank you.

Thanks for the insights. We have just ordered our first EV a Model Y HW3. I have been wishing for a Tesla for years and after a Test Drive down under in Australia we could say "One Day..." anymore. It may be the last car we ever buy; I hope. Also I have seen a few YT showing a Car fridge that made to fit in the Model Y under boot space and seems to work great. We are living in the future.
