Why do i see myself in this? I haven't talked to anyone about my issues for the past...3 months? 4 months? 2 months? i don't honestly know. I have no one to talk to about my issues and i have no motivation to make vents about them. I made myself distant, and i made myself lose all of my friends.

In my imagination, this song is set in the 15th century, especially because of that lyric, "my papa, a renaissance man, sailed away and never came back again" I'm guessing this man went on a trade venture and got drowned in sea from a storm, or got kidnapped, found a new wife etc. So the woman in the song has to do all the work on her own and resorts to doing drugs, not paying rent, and at one point she gets so sick of her life, she starts burning her house down, and then either gets executed or dies from the fire as we can see from the line, "throw my troubles at the pearly gates" ; pearly gates usually means heaven.
This is probably definitely not true, but it sounded nice in my head :D

Ash.
They were once a young villager who grew up with abusive parents.
They had learnt how to defend themselves against others in school.
One day, their parents saw them out at night. They were just buying groceries.
Due to anger issues, they finally snapped and punched their mother in the face. Their mother fell unconcious. Their father got that “you messed up” look on his face. He took of his slipper and threw it. Ash quickly ran and kicked their father’s leg. Their father got a cut on his leg. Their father pushed them on the hard ground floor and they suffered major head injuries. Their father screamed at them to never come back. So, they ran. Ash was seen in the forest with nothing but a lit candle. They picked it up and stared into the fire.
“If my parents were so abusive that they had to hurt me for going out and buying something, then what’s the matter anymore?”
Ash dropped the candle into a bush. The bush slowly got caught on fire. The fire spread to it’s surroundings. Ash had started a forest fire. They ran out of the forest with only one arm on fire. They ran to the nearest water source and tried putting the fire out of their arm. Suprisingly, it didn’t work. The fire had spread to their whole body. Their last sight was a house caught on fire. That was their house. They woke up in a random hut after 2 years. There was a random man with a stetoscope looking at a monitor. Ash was confused.
“Have I travelled into the future?”
“No, you haven’t. You were in a 2 year coma I would say. My fellow co-workers were at the village where you had fallen asleep. We thought you died. We realised you were still alive and was in a coma. We brought you here to rest. We didn’t expect you to wake up after 2 years.”
Ash was puzzled. The man looked at the monitor and took off his glasses.
“So, how am I alive? Wasn’t I covered in flames?”
“Yes... but I am quite shocked and confused. You body temperature is suprisingly very high. We took your temperature every day and it was so high. We guessed it was from the flames but I think you are the fire now.”
“I am the fire? You’re crazy.”
“I am not. Shockingly, the fire made you have some sort of fire power just like how superheroes in movies get their powers. I am very surprised to have a patient with powers. Never got one in my life.”
“Oh. That’s cool! Now I can save my- m...my....”
“Your parents? They passed away from burning in the flames.”
“What?”
“Sorry. I had to break it to you.”
“Where do I go now that I’m an orphan?!”
“Calm down. We have specialists that can train you. By training, I mean you can be a hero with your powers. I feel like a person from a hero movie now.
“Your a doctor I suppose.”
“Yes...”
“Cool.”
After many years of training, Ash gave one last hug to the doctor. They left and lived on their own. They now listen to music while saving the world. They saw a child getting beat up by their parents. Ash remembered how abusive their parents were. They closed their eyes and remembered the last thing they saw.
“All my troubles on a burning pile. All lit up.”
Ash started to smile.

Used to love these guys in 2022. I would listen to this song on late evenings mourning the death of my favorite villain, that died with flames surrounding him. I miss my Gravity Falls phase so much, this song reminds me of it.
