Michigan fan here and your offense/defense gave us a real challenge for the first time this year, so I wouldn't be too harsh on the home team. We couldn't pass because of your rush, which forced us to run. At first I was angry that Moore (Michigan OC/temp Head coach) couldn't be more creative, like using screens or quick slants to slow down your rush, but from what I've read since the game ended most praised him for doing the right thing by relentlessly running and forcing your D to stop it. And your QB will learn from these kind of games (along with the Ohio State one) and be a better QB for it in the coming years. He's still young and inexperienced, but given time he's gonna be a blockbuster. Cheers from Michigan.

One of Michigan's best strengths is situational awareness and coaching to it. James Franklin like JH has to look at his staff and decide its it good enough. JH decided after 2020 he had to clean house.

Tbf penn state almost lost by 15. The unsportsmanlike penalty during the almost-interception let them get some fire for that drive. Otherwise didn't seem likely they would've got that last td. That in addition to it being a home game, all the distractions michigan had, no had coach and no stallions (😂), one could argue this was similar to last year. However the penn state defense was better this year.

Michigan fan here, first of all great game especially the defense. Franklin’s coaching decisions most likely could have been better. But you also need to count the emotions of the Michigan players due to the suspension, they played with everything and more they got. Blake Corum had blood on his face in the postgame interview, Penn State put up a good fight.
Are we really surprised ? Franklins record against Ohio state and Michigan speaks for itself , with an average offense wins both games, I’ve never seen such a scared and conservative offensive game plan all season this offense regressed

As a UM fan I will disagree UM is a national contender this yr. I watch every game. UM is solid and deep at every position. I agree with you Franklin is not a good head coach but I would also say Manny Diaz had a shot in Miami although not a real fair shot I dont think he's the answer as HC. Great show, Im a UM fan. I slightly disagree on Georgia and Alabama, I think ( famous last words) that conference is down this year. As far as PSU, you have an elite pass rush. UM greatest strength is their depth. They wear teams out. Not sure on your QB, I've seen lots of 5 star guys at UM that sucked, it seems the biggest thing is pocket presence, toughness and the intangible to take off when a play breaks down ( besides the obvious - read coverage, accuracy and arm strength).
Who scouted UM? Franklin needs his but whipped. Why is Drew Allar throwing at Will Johnson in the end zone and on two of their two point conversions. He is a top 15 talent.....You would think after the first denial, Allar would stop, but they did it in other crucial moments too....

Hey, I had to do the Penn State game again because the rushing numbers were off for going up against defenses of both calibur and pretty much the same thing but uglier. I didn't notice until I was doing another game and I just knew that something was off scoring 45 points. It was possible because of 3 picks and a fumble but it was Rutgers going at it with their running game when I rewatched it that made think this is not Michigan.
@@Penn_State_Nittany_No_Huddle yeah, the rosters are my own custom rosters because the guys did a good job scouting the players but in actually creating the players, you have to re-create every single player in the game because they did not do that well at all. Offence, defense... especially along the lines, but HB, WR, TE, LB and DBs all had to be recreated properly. The Revamped rosters that come with it break the game that is why you can't really duplicate what I do because technically I do have the most recent Revamped rosters, my own. Other things I have done as well here and there, custom playbooks and such to reduce speed option for most teams. Some teams like Kansas and UCLA, Oregon, etc... will let them keep it because they run that weird stuff still. It took 6 weeks now 18 hours a day to get it to here before Rivalry week which was one of the goals I wanted because a big week.
Penn State pass rush is ridiculous. Hats off to you guys. You simply got beat by a better team. Michigan made the necessary adjustments to win. Simple as that. Michigan hasn't really played a run dominant game this year until now. I think that it was generally thought they didn't have the run game they had last year. Well it appears they still do and that was the adjustment. Get big and grind it on the ground. Hard to counter that when you don't have the personnel.
We didn’t have to. Saving Blake and Don for these last 3 games. This was obvious to anyone that watched Michigan all year. We had the capability, just didn’t need it. We can play any way the opposing defense wants but regardless, we’re dominating.

This is a hard loss for Penn State but if Michigan beats OSU to a pulp- as they have 2 years in a row, you'll know you can have a great team next year. Michigan will lose most of their starters to the NFL. Penn State has a great defense and incredible running backs who will be back next year. Beat OSU next year and you'll have a clear path to the championship.
Catching // much less passing OSU a NATTY norm. Michigan made it - but OSU still about as elite as it gets. Astonishing PSU so much better than most of NCAA - clear separation from rest of B1G. But beating OSU and the new Michigan about as big a mountain as there is in NCAA. Ask LSU - took Heisman added to elite - to do it. PSU like Pistons chasing Boston and Lakers - then Bulls chasing all 3. REALLY REALLY HARD. Still big 3 - GA OSU AL add MI - maybe AL takes a step back - TX looking close-too - OR. PSU closing on LSU OR TX - tier. But that top 2 to 4 - just really a tough nut. Don’t CJ Stroud or Kyle McCord - Allar - MI OSU D - made a lot of great QB’s look ordinary.
It’s too bad that someone didn’t steal Franklin’s signals before he could get them to his offense. The number one run defense just got run over by the Maize and Blue Bus.
Penn State's running backs simply were not as good as they looked the previous year, no receivers worth mentioning, a rookie QB *and* most importantly the evidence that they looked bad against Ohio State, the outcome of that game was never in doubt, even before the kickoff. After the Ohio State game, I didn't watch anymore. I realized the national media, the B10 media and the TV media pumped up PSU to be about twice as good as they really were. As a fan, my expectations going forward are pretty close to zero now when they go into a team that's in the top 10, because the evidence for 10 years has demonstrated they're never as good as claimed. It's not worth getting vested in the team because you know they'll disappoint you.
The two point conversion at the end is the right call. In order to win the game you have to convert the two points either way. If you attempt it on the first touchdown with 1 minute and 50 seconds left and DONT CONVERT, well your odds at winning are slim but at least you still have a chance. Now, let’s say you kick the extra point the first time, get the ball back and drive down for the second touchdown. If you miss the two point conversion you LOSE. YOU HAVE TO ATTEMPT THE TWO POINT CONVERSION ANYWAYS, if you end up failing the conversion, one option you still have a small chance at winning, the other you flat out lose. I’d rather take the first option, but that’s just me.
That just isn’t correct. Not getting the two point conversion makes it a two possession game at 9 points. If you kick the extra point it’s a one possession game. The game was over when it went to two possessions with 1:50 left. You’re not getting the ball back twice with only 2 time outs and a 1:50 left.

Franklin is the problem. As a Michigan guy, I’m fine with that. But all of the problems you guys are smartly identifying go back to coaching, and not just on Saturdays. The gameday decisions like chasing points and weird playcalls are obviously coaching. But I think Allar has been poorly served by his coaching. He’s looking more like he’ll end up Graham Mertz than JJ McCarthy (all 3 guys w similar recruit profiles). The structure of the offense makes no sense and the guys generally look decently coached, but not much better than that. And that hampers your ability to recruit elite skill talent on offense if they don’t think they’ll be developed or featured, which becomes a cycle. Does Theo Johnson look back on his recruitment, see the success M has w TEs and regret his decision? He probably should. The real MVP here is Franklin’s agent who scored his client a golden handcuffs deal after LSU fired Orgeron. I feel for you guys - all the Penn State people in my life without exception are great folks. Even if they enjoy a little too much shitting on M. 👊
UM only won because JH was in the goodyear blimp stealing the PSU symbols and sending them to the UM bench using morris code. Michigan fan here, first of all great game especially the defense. Franklin’s coaching decisions most likely could have been better. But you also need to count the emotions of the Michigan players due to the suspension, they played with everything and more they got. Blake Corum had blood on his face in the postgame interview, Penn State put up a good fight.

As a UM fan I will disagree UM is a national contender this yr. I watch every game. UM is solid and deep at every position. I agree with you Franklin is not a good head coach but I would also say Manny Diaz had a shot in Miami although not a real fair shot I dont think he's the answer as HC. I want allar to do well because he's from Ohio where I live but he's the off. Problem. He's just not there yet.

Great show, Im a UM fan. I slightly disagree on Georgia and Alabama, I think ( famous last words) that conference is down this year. As far as PSU, you have an elite pass rush. UM greatest strength is their depth. They wear teams out. Not sure on your QB, I've seen lots of 5 star guys at UM that sucked, it seems the biggest thing is pocket presence, toughness and the intangible to take off when a play breaks down ( besides the obvious - read coverage, accuracy and arm strength).

Who scouted UM? Franklin needs his but whipped. Why is Drew Allar throwing at Will Johnson in the end zone and on two of their two point conversions. He is a top 15 talent.....You would think after the first denial, Allar would stop, but they did it in other crucial moments too....

Hey, I had to do the Penn State game again because the rushing numbers were off for going up against defenses of both calibur and pretty much the same thing but uglier. I didn't notice until I was doing another game and I just knew that something was off scoring 45 points. It was possible because of 3 picks and a fumble but it was Rutgers going at it with their running game when I rewatched it that made think this is not Michigan.

@@Penn_State_Nittany_No_Huddle yeah, the rosters are my own custom rosters because the guys did a good job scouting the players but in actually creating the players, you have to re-create every single player in the game because they did not do that well at all. Offence, defense... especially along the lines, but HB, WR, TE, LB and DBs all had to be recreated properly. The Revamped rosters that come with it break the game that is why you can't really duplicate what I do because technically I do have the most recent Revamped rosters, my own. Other things I have done as well here and there, custom playbooks and such to reduce speed option for most teams. Some teams like Kansas and UCLA, Oregon, etc... will let them keep it because they run that weird stuff still. It took 6 weeks now 18 hours a day to get it to here before Rivalry week which was one of the goals I wanted because a big week.
Penn State pass rush is ridiculous. Hats off to you guys. You simply got beat by a better team. Michigan made the necessary adjustments to win. Simple as that. Michigan hasn't really played a run dominant game this year until now. I think that it was generally thought they didn't have the run game they had last year. Well it appears they still do and that was the adjustment. Get big and grind it on the ground. Hard to counter that when you don't have the personnel.

This is a hard loss for Penn State but if Michigan beats OSU to a pulp- as they have 2 years in a row, you'll know you can have a great team next year. Michigan will lose most of their starters to the NFL. Penn State has a great defense and incredible running backs who will be back next year.
Beat OSU next year and you'll have a clear path to the championship.

I wouldn’t say run over, Michigan def did enough to not need to pass, but their second half drives were fg,punt, punt,punt, td.
Penn State's running backs simply were not as good as they looked the previous year, no receivers worth mentioning, a rookie QB *and* most importantly the evidence that they looked bad against Ohio State, the outcome of that game was never in doubt, even before the kickoff. After the Ohio State game, I didn't watch anymore. I realized the national media, the B10 media and the TV media pumped up PSU to be about twice as good as they really were.
As a fan, my expectations going forward are pretty close to zero now when they go into a team that's in the top 10, because the evidence for 10 years has demonstrated they're never as good as claimed. It's not worth getting vested in the team because you know they'll disappoint you.

The two point conversion at the end is the right call. In order to win the game you have to convert the two points either way. If you attempt it on the first touchdown with 1 minute and 50 seconds left and DONT CONVERT, well your odds at winning are slim but at least you still have a chance. Now, let’s say you kick the extra point the first time, get the ball back and drive down for the second touchdown. If you miss the two point conversion you LOSE. YOU HAVE TO ATTEMPT THE TWO POINT CONVERSION ANYWAYS, if you end up failing the conversion, one option you still have a small chance at winning, the other you flat out lose. I’d rather take the first option, but that’s just me.
That just isn’t correct. Not getting the two point conversion makes it a two possession game at 9 points. If you kick the extra point it’s a one possession game. The game was over when it went to two possessions with 1:50 left. You’re not getting the ball back twice with only 2 time outs and a 1:50 left.
I was watching this game and it’s almost like Michigan was trolling you guys. You guys got out coach and other than not taking the extra points and trying going for two twice and fail.

Franklin is the problem. As a Michigan guy, I’m fine with that. But all of the problems you guys are smartly identifying go back to coaching, and not just on Saturdays. The gameday decisions like chasing points and weird playcalls are obviously coaching. But I think Allar has been poorly served by his coaching. He’s looking more like he’ll end up Graham Mertz than JJ McCarthy (all 3 guys w similar recruit profiles). The structure of the offense makes no sense and the guys generally look decently coached, but not much better than that. And that hampers your ability to recruit elite skill talent on offense if they don’t think they’ll be developed or featured, which becomes a cycle. Does Theo Johnson look back on his recruitment, see the success M has w TEs and regret his decision? He probably should. The real MVP here is Franklin’s agent who scored his client a golden handcuffs deal after LSU fired Orgeron. I feel for you guys - all the Penn State people in my life without exception are great folks. Even if they enjoy a little too much shitting on M. 👊

The common theme I hear from PSU fans is that their offense sucks and UMs D had nothing to do with it. I know there are no moral victories but realize PSU hung more points on that UM D than any other team and was the first team all season long to posoess the ball inside the UM ten yardline.
