The years 2000-2010 are the most wonderful decade in the history of computer games. The atmosphere of virtually all titles is timeless. Today's games may look better, but they lack soul. We will never experience such a golden age in gaming as the above mentioned
absolutely correct ! Those games have soul and very perfect stories that you can connect with them and of course have very good relationship with Characters! Sometimes I feel they are my real friends! But nowadays games are just have high graphic quality

They were better no doubt, majority of today's games aren't meant to be "fun to play", they're practically intended to be watched or intentionally made as though they're for people with short attention spans.
Games now days are created out of a business strategy not passion. Thats why indies are so popular now, since they aren't run by greed and money

Interestingly, i used to to play 95% of this games. I will also mention games like: Delta Force, Quake, Unreal Tournament, Kane and Lynch, The Thing, Alien vs Predator, Bully, Blood Omen, Lost Planet, SimCity, Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, Starcraft, Sudden Strike, Driv3r, Truck Racing, 18 wosaa, il2 Sturmovik... The list is huge. Good old times 😔
Also tons of nintendo games and oh ya that God of War thing 😄. Also a big fan of the Darkness 1 and 2, lost planet.
GTA: San Andreas, not single Resident Evil or Silent Hill game, Scarface: The World is Yours, Godfather not included. The list is good, but you missed some good games.

the fact that red alert 2 used to work on a video ram of 2mb pentium 2 processor and 64mb ram is mind blowing considering how good this game looked back then

And then developers went for easy money on the console market.

i'm impressed by how many great games my old potato can run ^..^
these games made me reminisce of simple times, now that i have a unit in par with the most advance specs there is available. I still look back to play these games. My inner child of me is quite happy and reminiscent. :)
Finally Crysis became a game dedicated to old laptops and lowend pc's :')

I can’t wait to get my pc to play these. It’s nothing fancy but it doesn’t need to to play theses games today on a decent computer.
Can someone help me find the following games??--
1)- a tiny pac man kinda character which has short legs and shoes, hands, eyes. Etc.. This character pushes boxes around to create either a path or wall to pass and finish the levels. I don't remember much details but i only remember the character pushing boxes and this happens in the sky.
2) it happens in an open space, the entire area is in white. There's a round chubby character which becomes huge as you push it towards the wall. And the place (like a wall or road) where you have pushed it becomes colourfull. This is basically the game. You just have to take the character around and paint/colour the walls.
First game is Sokoban im sure, second one is a ps2 game called Katamari damacy

Did it involve collecting something from each person after saving them? Or was there a giant spider at some point? Or does the game end with you defeating all the people you didn't save? Were there stars involved?

An old game, it used to be in the catalog of browser games on PC. Playing against bots, respectively. Side view, you and the enemy have 5 horizontal paths (lines) not connected to each other, along them you and the enemy launch your warriors, and the task is to lead your warriors to the enemy’s base. As far as I remember, we play as Roman warriors, our opponents will change, barbarians, goblins and other races. A game from my childhood that evokes a lot of nostalgia, I really hope someone can help with the name!

I would really recommend trying out Heroes of Might and Magic 3 HD. It has a really active community currently and you can download it for free from its site. It also supports multiplayer so you can play with your friends. You can even play it on your phone.
I spent so many hours playing it, alone or with friends, everytime had a great fun.
Left 4 dead 2 is a masterpiece. I invite you guys to try it. Too much fun

Anyone know of an old, 2000's graphics game that had similar mechanics to snake as in, crossing over your own trail would kill you? Haven't thought about it for years but played on low end PCs, only thing can really remember apart from trails was that it was 3D, dark graphics, really difficult and hard to navigate cemetery/graveyard level, and last level had lightening and there was a well know trick to going on top of the map?
It was also played primarily on windows 7 computers but im not sure how much that'd help
