DJ Shiti, hands down...you hit the nail on the head they are blocking real talent and only promoting their own. Check out these kids called We Are SDP. They have an album named MTLA....Listen to it and tell me if they can make it to international level. DJ Shiti respect man you said it as it is.
You know whats puzzling is that upcoming artists who have real talent in Kenya are suppressed by media personalities who prefer to see the same old artists on mainstream media in Kenya NOT internationally. They seem to work with emotions/ethnicity and not proffesionalism. My big question is over the years they have promoted whoever they have promoted on the Kenyan musical scene only to end up in Kenya and never make it internationally. Doesnt that tell you that the system is foul. It cannot be able to identify pure talent that can take Kenya to the world and that is why we can NEVER have Kenya represented internationally due to the rot that oozes especially in mainstream media. Such a shame!
Kenyans have misunderstood what being an international artist is. Going to the US, UK or Dubai to perform for Kenyans does not make one an international artist. Say for example you are able to fill up the O2 Arena, Wembley Stadium, Madison Square Garden like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Rema, Davido, Diamond Platnumz, Seal or Ayra Starr does then you deserve to be crowned as an International Artist.
When did diamond do that?
Sasa wewe ndio umetotea kabisaa,if your audience is outside the borders,say a Kenyan Artiste being played in say Burundi,they are "international artistes" the same way if they perform outside the country, they still are international acts.... international is a term that varies depending on the level of influence.

Africa has one or two international artists only, Alpha Blondy and maybe Yousou Ndo, but in true sense Alph Blondy is the only International artist from Africa, No other African has the capacity to draw a paying crowd, the rest are local artist who will only draw they countrys crowd, or African diaspora crowd in western dungeons or underground halls.

@@asili2tv767 I'll think about it. I can't name them for now because I've not been following any modern artists from a big music-producing market, with the exception of Jamaica. I had the impression that Burna Boy of Nigeria is big but I don't know a single song from him because I simply don't listen.
