I love how all the other ships are all around it as it sink, like a ship funeral.
It more or less is, because the tanker was scuttled to make an artificial reef
Don’t know why, but I feel like a ship sinking at the end of its life is the best thing that can happen. As if it’s been constantly working to stay afloat and now it can rest

@@lovekills3506 Raise the water table......yeah. That's really an issue. Maybe they should shut those offshore volcanoes down as well. And the one on KONA. They scrub the hell out of these things before sinking them. Nonissue these days. But that water table, well ya got me there. @@lovekills3506 How can they raise the water table?! They actually raise it more when they are afloat, as there is something called displacement in case you weren’t aware. When the ship is floating, it’s filled with air, but the weight of it pushes it into the water a bit. This causes hundreds of thousands of tons of water being displaced in the case of supertankers, cruise ships, aircraft carriers, etc., and a few hundred kilos in the case of a small tinny. When a ship is filled with water, that air is eliminated, and thus being filled with it, the ship is displacing less water. The thousands of ships that displace thousands of tons each that are floating on the ocean have not affected the ocean levels, and you know why? Because in most places, the ocean is miles deep, and a single square mile would contain millions of tons of water. Maybe check your facts before typing a comment that makes you look uneducated.

Missed one, it was sunk in deep enough waters that ships won't hit it unless you're in a submarine.
One more, the ship was a single hull so it was now illegal and could not be repaired.

I've lived in Pompano bch. for 53 yrs. Sinking these ships was a great idea. You can get the g.p.s. of these boats. Makes it a good place for fishing. Or a place for diving.

This is a great idea to foster coral reefs. I’m assuming there’s no oil left in the ship and it was tugged there, but it’s still fantastic for the local sealife

As it is an artificial reef and will be a dive destination I would imagine it is in shallow water. Less than 100ft and most likely the top most parts of the ship are just under the surface.

Why no one is placing cameras on the sea floor to see when and how it looks when it touches the floor?
While I agree that would be cool, I highly doubt the footage would be all that interesting. You can see that the water is murky enough that be the time any camera is far enough to make the shot worth taking, the most you'll see is an indistinct blob. Furthermore, there's always a touch of ambiguity of how the ship will actually sink, so there's always a chance that you'll end up with the camera getting crushed under the ship.

What I learned from watching this is DON'T BE NEAR A BOAT THAT'S SINKING because the water "blows" around in crazy, unpredictable directions and will likely slam you into the boat.
