  • Former Chaplain-in-Chief John Weaver addressed a Georgia Sons of Confederate Veterans gathering at an annual celebration of the birthdays of Confederate Generals Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson. Rev. Weaver's topic was sharpshooter Jack Hinson, a neutral Tennessee man until Yankee soldiers murdered his sons, who were also not in the Confederate Army. Jack Hinson trained himself, and when he was ready he methodically sniped over 100 Yankee soldiers and sailors. www.600csa.com/... gascv.org/

    I bought the book,Jack Hinson's:One Man's War.
It is an incredible narrative of Jack Hinson's life and war against the vandals and murderers from Yankeedom.
He was a unionist until the blue scumbellies murdered his two boys. Then he put drama into the invaders lives.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who believes in justice for innocent people being harassed by bullies.

Massed soldiers exchanging vollies with one another. Grapeshot and cannister mowing men down in large numbers. Over six hundred thousand died in that war from both sides; many from their wounds or disease. No anestisia and limbs were sawed off with others holding the patient down while he screamed in order to prevent infection or gangrene from sitting in. Horrible war.

    I have one question.
Assuming that General Grant and Jack Hinson were actually friends, is there any record, story, or remembrance of any reaction by General Grant if he heard, and I'm sure he did, about the murder of Hinson's two innocent Sons?
Not that it matters, since all involved are long dead, but I'm just wondering.

This is a very interesting way to look at it. Inside I agree with him. But, some would also say that God says "vengeance is mine saith the Lord". Next time I feel like getting even with someone I am going to remember this sermon and say to myself "God has raised me up to be a tool of justice against the person I am getting back at".

I agree with you. But pray and pray before you make a rash decision. God will answer your prayers and guide you. Brother Weaver is a great Southern Historian. Lincoln I promise will answer for his Warmongering and allowing the murderer of innocent people Northern and Southerners alike. He sent thousands of men to their deaths for Revenue. The biggest lie in our History is Lincoln loved the slaves and invaded the South to free the slaves. The Southern Army wasn't perfect but they didn't hurt defenseless citizens. When Lee Marched through Pennsylvania his Armada was over 50 miles long. His men did take livestock because they were starving and barefooted. His Army was over 30 pounds under weight but they marched with a Spirit that the Northern boys didn't have a Pennsylvania Lady wrote in her Journal. Lee's Army also took Horses, Mules and Ox. But they were ordered to leave the Dirt Farmers one Mule or Ox so they could still farm. The Southern Army didn't burn one Crop. They didn't burn one home or pillage the personnel possessions from Pennsylvanian Home. They didn't commit one crime against one Pennsylvanian. One of Lee's Officers said those Orders would be much easier followed if the Union Army showed the South the same Grace. Lee replied we have enough enemies and we are going to do this God's Way. What Brother Weaver said about all tyrants being Judged is correct. If we ever have to men that Justice has called we have to be righteous in our Judgment of others. I believe God is laying his Judgment on America. But God knows Brave Men can right the ship. We have to have Courage and have Faith that God will give us Victory like he did our Forefathers. God bless you my brother. Stand tall and seek God's guidance in all we do. I am praying for Kyle Rittenhouse and praying he is Acquitted today or tomorrow. It is shameful what the Media has lied about the truth and want a innocent man to serve life because of their hateful, ungodly ideology.

Guerilla warfare is almost as deadly of a weapon as nuclear weapons. Because it goes on endlessly with endless casualties and the enemy never knows who is doing the ambushes or who to trust or where they may strike next or where they are based at but yet the guerilla fighters always knows everything. And the enemy never can catch them all in once place so it's nearly impossible to stop them entirely.

The book is a fascinating read, but it turns out that much of it is not true.
Public records available at the County Archives in Jack's home, Stewart County, reveal a very different person than has been made into a legend. Long before the war, he was a violent, vengeful man who terrorized his neighbors. He was very much a Secessionist before the war, and his contemporaries gave a very different account of the reasons for his being a sniper.
While there are several surviving documents that prove the reasons for his being a sniper, no documents have ever been cited to prove anything about young sons being murdered.
People believe the story because they want to believe it, but hopefully those who hear the story and who are historians will seek out the actual records that are publicly available and disprove most of the legend.
In short, you cannot consider yourself a historian if you ignore the actual, readily-available facts of his story and simply repeat the highly-fictionalized legend.

@@the1bulldurham One thing I know is the Lincoln taught is a lie and a myth. My dad had a Master's in American and World History. He taught me more about the Civil War by the time I was 15 than most people will ever know. They have used the Slavery Narrative to white wash the truth. Lincoln invaded for Revenue. He allowed rape, murder, torture, burning and pillaging. The South was the wealthiest region in the World before the war. Every Northern State was in Debt and almost every Southern State was out of Debt. The North couldn't have survived without Tariffs at 15 Major Ports in the South. The South also controlled the Mississippi River which is still a Economic Power House. Billions of Dollars flow up and down the Mississippi Every Year. Lincoln said there doesn't have to be a Invasion or Bloodshed if the States paid their Taxes and Duties. That is why he illegally invaded Free and Sovereign States.
