    Just as a FYI. MAX Peeding Rods, is manufactured by Dinking Power / Genmax. They also make several generators for other companies. The new 145cc 164F engine has been getting excellent reviews and proving to be a contender for compact suitcase generators. The size of the Honda eu2200i but with more power. The pulsar 4000 is the same unit but in gas and a dual fuel version, the genmax 3500 is also the same. Im a dual fuel man myself. But these are impressive units. Funny video, always enjoy LoLoHo…👍🏼

      We added a soft start to our ac also, hoping to only need one of the Yamaha 2200 generators. It started and ran the ac at home....but on the road with the fridge running, one just wouldn't do it. So, we have two Yamaha's but sure didn't want to haul both. We may consider this one as it's light enough for me to handle and has more wattage!

    As a small engine mechanic, my only concern for anything like that is repairability. I have a pile of the no brand, two cycle snd the CHEAP ones out back that are SCRAP because they are not worth repairing, period. Cheaper does NOT mean better when it comes to future repairs. I have a 20 year old Honda portable that still runs like new. I can buy parts for it all day long. Even some of the old Coleman and Craftsman generators are still repairable compared to the ones I have in that pile.

    • @LongLongHoneymoon
      @LongLongHoneymoon Před 2 měsíci +1

      Yes, that has always been my concern when approaching "no name" brands. I also wonder what kind of customer service (and parts availability) will exist in the future if and when things go wrong. There are definitely tradeoffs, and when you pay more for one of the major brands you are also buying into that warranty and customer support experience. With that said, we have had problems with both our Yamaha and Champion generators that were only fixed when we opened the cases ourselves and did the work in our own garage. With any of these generators, it helps tremendously if you are able to diagnose and repair on your own.

  • @johnqpublic3165
    @johnqpublic3165 Před 2 měsíci +3

    That's a nice generator for the price if it lasts and they support it. But, I think people need to be reminded that buying something like that to chase a low price is a gamble. You don't have any idea how long it will last and if parts will be available when and if you need them. Rolling the dice and hoping is one way to go. If hope doesn't work out and you need a $3.00 part for that 3 years from now which can't be found anywhere your actual cost will be at least double. That's because because you'll be buying another one to replace it.

    • @LongLongHoneymoon
      @LongLongHoneymoon Před 2 měsíci +4

      Yes, I mentioned something along these lines towards the end of the video. That is one reason that I am often hesitant to recommend brands that I don’t know. Overall, I think it is a great deal, but with the caveat that I don’t know much about this company and their long-term customer support. I did make one miss statement in the video, and that concerns the warranty, it appears that the warranty is two years, not one year. Depending on how people look at it, it may be worth the gamble to pick up this low-cost generator, considering the value for the price. We received a few comments from other owners, and so far everyone who has commented has been pleased with their unit.

    Cheap is a relative term. They are NOT cheap.
    $1300 is NOT cheap.
    Also, you want pure sine wave output and at the maximum rating too.
    Many lie about the capacity - they list PEAK output and not RUNNING output. Huge difference too.

    Ilike MaXpeeding Rods brand, I have a adjustable track bar and adjustable control arms for my Dodge Truck. Saved me hundreds of dollars. Vevor is another good knock off brand for part time equipment. I have the Harbor Freight 3500 but it's pretty big compared. I'm a Contractor and some things I buy name brand, others knock off. It's a cost/benefit analysis for sure.

    I've been looking at small generators for a while and have yet to make a purchase. One thing I don't see in most reviews is how good is the companies support? Can you get parts? This particular generator has 8% one star reviews and 15% 3 stars or below. It also looks to be sold under other brands such as Pulsar, GenMax and AIVolt. The company that makes these is not the same as the company selling/branding them which is a red flag.

    Very interesting inverter generator but I was thinking that if you could connect 2 for 6000 watts and it only has 1.1 gallon capacity for gasoline why not make a auxiliary fuel tank for it say 5 gallons. Ed in Partlow Virginia.

    It appears to be a good product, but time will tell I suppose. We have had our Yamaha 2400 for 14 years now and it's still going strong. With that one year warranty on this orange generator, I wonder if it will still be blowing and going 14 years from now? Thank you for the overview! Happy trails.

      Yes, I agree that part of what you are expecting from the more expensive brands is better longevity. We have had excellent experience overall with Yamaha. But I have to say that our Champion has also held up quite well. But typically, with the blue and red brands, you get superior noise performance.

    I want to know the vertical height of this generator. I have a tractor supply metal box bolted to a bumper hitch carrier on the back of my van and it is only 18 or 19 inches tall inside and my champion 2000w inverter generator barely fits in it. I like my champion 2000 but it doesn't like my air fryer. It will run it but you can tell it's stressing! Seems like I buy a generator every year or 2 at this point but every time I find the "perfect one" I find something better. I'll probably keep my champion though because powers whatever I need and it hasn't failed me yet!

    Interesting. I wish I knew about this before I bought a Predator 3500 that weighs 98 lbs dry weight. I do need a generator to run the RV A/C. The Predator does that fine. I would have liked to see you hook it up to your travel trailer. But I guess I'm not buying another generator soon, not until the Predator dies.

    The "Yellow" brand is likely based off of the Ducar 1600w suitcase inverter generator. I have found this unit (in Ducar trim) to be extrememly reliable and fuel efficient. But it does not have the power to run a table saw, or even my older corded circular saw.
    It would be interesting to see you put this MXR under a heavier load than a hair dryer - which typically only uses 1500w or so. I would also like to know how this unit stands up to extensive use, say after it's had a dozen or more oil changes...
    Thanks for the review, and putting this inverter on my radar. For the record I have heard of MaXpeedingRods in the past, I believe they make car parts.

    • @LongLongHoneymoon
      @LongLongHoneymoon Před 2 měsíci +2

      I will do some more testing with this unit. There have been several comments here beneath the video from other owners who have good things to say about it. One guy says he has been using his to run his air conditioner on his RV for the past couple of years and has no complaints. Agree with you about the long-term durability questions. This is one reason I am usually quite skeptical of brands with which I am not familiar. It’s easy to be happy when everything is working the way it should. But once something goes wrong, having good customer support, and parts availability makes a huge difference in the ownership experience. Thanks for your comments!
