    Welp, I called the toll free number on the booklet, they said it sounds like the sensor is not working. So, I went to Walmart and exchanged for another one. It worked as soon as I plugged it in. Guess sometimes someone messes up in the assembly line or the sensor was defective. But, it's still a good unit for one bedroom. 😊

      @@Ibbie88 If you don't have a hose, put the air conditioner up on a sturdy table and drain the water into a pale. Let gravity do the work. I would also cover the back with plastic so no water gets inside. There are some videos on You Tube showing how to do it this way.

    How to drain

  • @reilea9977

    • @tammy4life143

      I'm wondering the same, do u have to put it in there?

    • @reilea9977
      @reilea9977 Před rokem +4

      @@tammy4life143 YES!!! If you don't, that's how you will ruin it. I accidently destroyed the first one because all I did was unscrew the bottom opening and tilt the water out of it, like once every three days. Yeahhh, that wasn't enough apparently to let the water out so the built up water destroyed it. You MUST put the tubing in THE TOP OPENING CAP. You untwist the top cap not the bottom one and put the tubing in and leave it. You MUST set a huge bowl (I use a plastic rectangle container size of a shoebox at the end) to catch the water because there will be CONSTANT water dripping out. You will have to empty that container every three hours. It's annoying but air conditioners are also Dehumidifiers so you are going to have constant water coming out. Mine is set about 2 and a half feet high on an old desk with the tubing pointed not into but rather towards the container so it will drip into it. It fills up pretty quickly so set a timer or cell phone to go off in three hours (sometimes it take 4 hours) and go empty it. The container I use hold about 12 cups. I live on the top floor of an apartment and wanted to rig the tubing out my bedroom window but the problem is that all that water would have dropped past another tenants window below me, so, I have to empty the container. I turn it off when I'm at work. It's on when I sleep even though I do have apartment air conditioner, it's just that when it's really hot out that the apt air conditioner doesn't work up to par (and they put in a new one!). I just like it really cold in my room so I only use it at night. And yep, it's annoying to get up 3-4 hours and and switch the container out with another one and go back to bed. When I get up for work I pour the containers out in tub. It's BEST to have a window unit and if I lived in a house I WOULD, it's just that the apartment owners don't allow window units.

    My only concern is the exhaust hose on the outside of the window. It’s just a wide open hole from the outside. Birds, bees, wasps or small critters can easily just go right into the hose 😂 When people disconnect it from the back of the unit, to drain the water, any animals, birds or bees nest can just go right into your home/area 🤣

    • @Vv20vV
      @Vv20vV Před měsícem +1

      Also Word of advice to those with maybe back problems or disabilities etc, you can set this unit on a 2ft table or stand & just put the included clear hose into the drain port & lead it into a bucket or empty gallon jug etc for easy drainage & emptying vs having to roll the whole unit to a drain location.
