Our local recycler has a shredder that rips the cans open to drain out all liquid and then goes through a magnet to pull out any nails, screws...you know people put things like spent welding rods in them to dispose of them etc. Then they go over on a chain conveyor with fans to separate trash, paper, cigarette buts etc. and onto a scale to be weighed so they can pay each person bring in aluminum cans and on into the baler.
Stupid question maybe. Can you weld a rail in that trailer. Then mount a sliding thing on it. With an Electric motor wind just the sliding all the cans out. Seems abit quicker.
@@SquishyZoran It probably does. But.. you can also make a of door at the other side. then drive this thing in and just push it out. idk. Or just lift the trailer up. I find that loading ramp just extremely inefficient.
Variation in the weight of the aluminum used to make the cans? Even if it's a relatively small variation, each bail is (presumably) a random assortment of different kinds of cans, and at the scale of a bail that variation might make the weights different.
Michael do you know much about the recycle industry of cardboard things like that? we have a factory close to i live and called Pratt and they recycle cardboard and they have contracts like Amazon, Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart ect... Is there any money in that like can you sell cardboard and paper and everything like that to be recycled? I watch your videos regularly. That 53' trailer that you crushed the other day wow didn't look like it was hurt 😅. Be safe I'd appreciate a response back on this question, if you know anything about it. Thanks
Ah yes the beginnings of some $60,000 pavement princess.

Wow that's a lot of money here in oregon. 10 cents a can
Same here in Connecticut now! A 32 pack of water is $8.45 out the door at dollar general!
@@josh_o_j 10 years of you don't return the can right?
@@josh_o_j 10 cents if you return the can & 10 years if you don't return the can.
Why can I smell this
Because maybe you’ve been to one of these places? I definitely know the smell
Love seeing the process
Would love to see them loading those loose cans into that trailer before you opened it😂
Heavier bales must have all the cigarette butts in them.
Hahaha so true!
My uncle used to stick Little Rock’s and sand inside of his cans and than crush them. Needless to say, he got caught 😂
Exactly what I was thinking
2 bucks a pound in California

I like this idea but it’s probably not worth it since I can see it getting jammed way too easy.

I probably go through that much per day.
I go through a similar bailing process at work.we make paper towels, napkins and toilet paper...😁
Every one of those cans was someone's 🍻 drink😮 and this is just one load..... I stopped drinking anything carbonated but this is still mind boggling 🤯
Awesome vid!
Dang Mike! I thought I had a drinking problem!
How did you get those in there and close the door
Dude right 😂
In the scrap business
THERE IS NO JUNK TOO BUNK
Everything weighs out
That bucket looks GOOFY AS HELL 😂
Low weight high volume
They made us get in the trailer to sort the trash out on a hot summer day. Not to mention the needles in there.
That was so loud for so long with ear buds on hahahaha fml
Cool 😎
This video has a canny sense of humor.
I want just one bucket load to smelt. I just want to see how many bars it would make
Good job 🎉🎉🎉😮
Ain't that alot of process on aluminum cans? Looks like yall would just take them straight to the compactor
Artwork 😜
Wonder how they weigh so much different. I know the one we’re only 9 pounds different. But some where over 100 pounds different
Didn't I see this on Captain Kangaroo?
Must be fun to send the new guy to open the door.
I was wondering how they filled up that trailer nearly full, then i saw the 2 openings on the doors.
Ah, nice catch. But I still wonder how they get it full all the way to the front of the trailer. Interesting.
@MoneyManHolmes that's a really good point. Now I'm wondering too.
They use a machine to blow them through them holes that you see on the back tgat trailer door
That
Either someone didn't sweep the trailer or those bails are losing weight
all I can say is loud really loud.
Hey MIKE!! Are crushed cans in bulk worth more than the 5 cent deposit??
Curiosity…why do the bales weigh differently? Same size, no?

@@Holabirdsupercluster ah, yes. Good point. My daft self was only thinking same sized soda pop.
