- WARNING: this is not a clappy song. Marina and the Diamonds play Numb live at Leeds Student Union. Sorry for the not so steady cam some of this was shot with the camera at arms length above my head. Thought it was worth keeping for the look on Marina's face when her mic drops :)

honestly the crowd is so awful. this song is about depression and feeling meaningless. to whoever yelled "IT ISN'T A CLAPPY SONG!", thank you. everyones just talking and cheering. no one is even paying attention marina. damn.
I think it's more about npd. People with npd temd to feel depressed when they get a narcissistic injury or collapse. Plus the "yeah i'm no good, no good to anyone 'cus all i care about is being number one" line. Npd isn't all about feeling grandiose. We tend to feel a great amount of shame when we get an injury or collapse too. I think most marina and the diamonds songs are about having npd or dealing with someone who has npd. (Love + Fear album) I know all that because i read about it in the internet and it turns out i've got npd too! (Self-dignosed)

By the end she was either done with the crowd or overwhelmed by the meaning of the song, or both. It was an amazing performance regardless ♥️

It's almost like the Audience is made up of people who have never heard her music once before this event.
It's no surprise that the audience is not sure how to react/deal with this song, since it is so ambivalent.Marina seems to try to shut down the inappropriate responses by changing pitch, tempo, falling silent, etc.

+Jay Dawg honestly I wasn't too keen on Electra Heart but it grew on me and I quite like Froot :) haven't had a chance to see her live since this gig but I'm sure she's still as captivating as ever ❤️
This is the best live one I've found yet! Thank you so much for uploading this! It's still really good considering how hard it is to record a concert little alone over your head. I love Marina! She's just so beautiful, and such a talented song writer, and don't even get me started on her amazing raw, acoustic, and powerful voice!!!! I really wish I could see her. She came somewhat close, at least in the usa a while back but I didn't know till it was too late. I'm gonna keep my eye out for her next time definitely. Bet you had a blast. Looks like she puts on a great show. That look from the microphone was priceless. Lol. Perfect timing catching that blooper.

Okay I agree that yeah, the audience was definitely disrespectful but I think it’s cos most are definitely unfamiliar with her and possibly underestimate her. It’s a student union I doubt everyone is her fan so they don’t understand it’s not a clapping song.

Lots of her sound happy but have very dark lyrics.. people aren't supposed to cheer and singalong, according to people ? And I thought artists hate it when the crowd isn't alive at all. I love it when her fans are singing along and clapping. THey love what she does and they show it.

i love this song.
Some of the audience sort of annoyed me, clapping when it obvious wasn't a " clapping " song ( s/o to the guy who said to stop ) and clapping when she stopped, she had to wait and seemed kind of annoyed by it but laughed it off. I mean, this was her first album so they didn't really know her like we do now.
