I've definitely got cast-on-itis, but I need to finish my Weekday Pullover first! I'm leaning into it by making long "dream knit" lists and casting on small, one skein gift knits here and there.

I so want to cast on EVERYTHING I see lately! I decided that as soon as I get my crochet cardigan done I am casting on something. Probably a hat for now. yes! Cast-on-itis big time! I feel the urge to use all the yarn in my stash that I've been 'saving' for the perfect project. In fact, I cast on a new sweater while watching this episode, and now I have 24 WIPs. Oh boy.
@@theknittingpt haaha yeah it's a little out of control, but I like to have a project option for any mood. I cast on a Cozy Classic Raglan! Been working on it today, too, it's very relaxing!
The cast-on-itis soooo real right now! And the constant temptation to sign up for a new test knit is as well. I currently have two tests and a sample for Berroco’s spring line that I’m working on. Hoping to keep it to just these projects for now since we’re undertaking our big move in a couple of months. Who knows if I’ll be able to stick to my goal. 😅
You are on a roll with intarsia! Go you! I totally hear you on it seeming more difficult as a technique than it really is. I feel like the physical yarn management and not getting everything tangled is probably the most "challenging" part of intarsia. Currently for test knits, I just have buttons and FO photos for the Highline Henley to do and I'm working on a secret test knit. I try not to sign up for any tests during Nov, Dec, Jan because I want to feel free to cast on whatever I feel like casting on without any projects that I "should" be working on. It has lifted a weight off my shoulders making that conscious effort and I haven't looked back and wished any differently! As always, I have a line of projects waiting to be cast on and look forward to sharing them on IG/CZcams. Take care and talk soon friend!~Stephanie
What’s funny is that even though I long to cast on with abandon, the lack of deadlines makes me feel less productive 🫠 I’ve been loving all your cast ons and finishes though!! Can’t wait to see those handmade wooden buttons!
Also yes the cast on itis is bad. I 100% blacked out this week and cast on a whole new sweater despite 2 sweater wips already and a new test knit. I’m here for the cast on joy though🎉
*waves from the Directional Pullover test knitting pool* The castonitis is so strong right now, especially with all of the KALs going on. I'm trying to appease it by having my test knits as the big projects, and socks/hats as a smaller wip.
Yup, way too many WIPs (with a little bit to finish), add in all the Gotta Have (shiny/new) Teasers…sigh! My daily scroll thru Ravelry is my downfall. And it’s finally sweater weather. You’re in good company!

If you like toe up socks, try the Turkish cast on. It’s easy to learn and makes a clean toe with no holes.
