  • Rock TV interviews Brian Molko on the 9th of October 2006, just before Placebo gig at Mazdapalace, Milano.
Also some live songs from the gig: Infra-red (0:00), Because I want you (12:55), Meds (24:00).
    Translation of the questions:
    1. How is the tour going?
    2. In "Meds" you collaborate with Alison Mosshart. Are you a kind of "talent scout" for her?
    3. In your last record there is an extraordinary use of metrics. Do you think your fans will notice that?
    4. Do you agree that live shows are becoming the main source of income for a band now that file sharing is spreading so much?
    5. What are the pros and cons of being part of one of the best rock band?
    6. What are your best memories of your live performances?
    7. Which band could be considered your heir nowadays?
    8. In your last record there is less electronics. Is this a return to the spirit of true rock?
    9. What do you think about the fact that people today can record their music in their own houses?
    10. What do you bring with you when you are on tour? Do you like feeling comfortable on tour?

Have you ever noticed his quality tactic? The way he hangs out is perfect and it makes you understand easily, you don't have to strive to get his answers, he speaks with some simple words and that' untrue the fact he's rude or pretentious, I'm watching so many interviews and I truly appreciate what he says and what kind of relationship he wants to establish between the band and the fans. A few other artists succeeded over this point, just Matt Bellamy from Muse sticks to an akin genre and he also talks about the career without shame or haughtiness but all the other ones look uninspired or unable to give a complete point about what they've written. Having a good and comfortable speech you convey your preparation and your knowledge, and your fans will grasp the real rate of intelligence and mind openness you hold, there's nothing to out. If you're well prepared it'll come out naturally but it's possible to be underrated or knocked. That's the risk of being in a band, I presume.

I completely agree, and that matt Bellamy achieves the same, although he tends to go of track a lot, which is quite endearing. I don't think Brian molko is pretentious or rude either, just honest, which is refreshing, I do think he has mood swings though, sometimes he will be really cooperative sometimes he will go a bit strange, I have watched some interviews in 2009/10 and he does come across as a bit difficult or pretentious in some of those, but its not consistent to I presume he just has mood swings or he was just unhappy that day
