    I bought your book to read on my upcoming Scarlet Lady cruise. I plan on leaving it on the ship so others can enjoy it.😊

    That looks like a nice sandy beach! Although super busy... but hey it's certainly better than being at a desk!

    When it comes to that aggressive tactic, I agree. Just have it available, and if we want it, we'll walk over there..

    Shoot me. Warm bus; Crowded beach; dropped off before the bar opens; warm water you can’t cool off in. I’ll stay on the ship. Better yet, book a cruise to Alaska in the Summer. 😂

      Exactly! Mediterranean = spring or fall; Caribbean = winter; Alaska = summer

    When the water is deep and then it gets really shallow that means you are standing on a sandbar. It has to do with the wave action and the currents.

    Excitement = noise so I usually don’t mind. Yes! Seeing kids playing in the street is reminiscent of bygone days for sure:) You made the video dreamy though, noise and all.

    Two hours at any beach is fine for me! I enjoy shortish beach excursions

    Yes! I'm a "do it yourself" kind of guy too (not to be confused with do it with yourself, that's just weird). 😂
    Yes, to playing in the street!!! Growing up in Philly, we played street hockey and the goalies would yell "CAR" every time a car turned into our street, so that we could move out of the way and they could move the goalie nets. Our games were very "The Goldbergs" as we wore Flyers Jerseys (did I say I grew up in Philadelphia?). Back in the 1970's, that's what we did. Later, we would play street hockey with roller skates (not blades, skates). Good times!

    👍🏻I was one of those kids, 55 years ago. One street back from the ocean, between the beach and and an ocean pool. Not only did we play in the street. But our bikes would block the road, and the motorists had to wait for us. That wouldn’t happen today the streets are much to busy

  • @julieb7882
    @julieb7882 Před 11 měsíci

    We weren't allowed to play in the street, even though I grew up in a town of 300 people. We had a huge backyard.

    I’m the same way, I like to travel and explore on my own pace. 😊 Thanks for the video!
    Edit: Those raspberry (?) bar things look heavenly! And I agree, I HATE being surrounded like that and hassled. They’ll get meet with a firm No and a head shake and if that doesn’t work HAHAHAHA. 😂 They really need to be more respectful. I get it’s their “job” or whatever but some respect goes a long way. Being aggressive isn’t the way to go.
    Seeing the kids playing in the street brings back so many memories of me with my Razor scooter and my bike just riding around every street in my neighborhood with my friends. 😭

    Mondello isn't on the other side of the island - it's just round the headland from the port

    Morgan, I would have been so upset with that beach. I can only equate it to city living. I go to a beach and love to see the water from my lounger, not wall to wall umbrellas and a fence, really, a fence to corral you in. Wow, so many people! But thanks as always.

    I am currently setting up a Top Ten of things nobody from outside Italy should do during the Italian summer school holidays.
    No. 1: Cruise on a Costa cruise ship
    No. 2: Go to a beach in Italy
    No. 3: Visit Rome
    I am looking forward to you making suggestions.

    Your travel guide video always feels like a friendly chat with a fellow traveler. Your personal touch sets it apart. Speaking of travel essentials, have you seen the new v4 Bento Bag from NomadLane? It looks like a practical solution for wanderers like you.

    Wow, €4.50 for a big bottle of water and mini pizza is a great price!
    The beach would be waaay to crowded for my liking :P If I really wanted to go to the beach and knew it would be that crowded, definetely a cruise excursion for me ;)

  • @machellep1

    55 euro for 3 hours is expensive. That’s a short beach time considering drive time.

  • @KarynHill

    We played in the street all the time but it was a small town with cars only rarely coming through.
    I don't like to do touristy things so I don't do the ship excursions, but there are times when I would. Most likely if I want to see something that's quite a distance from the ship and I don't want to risk not making it back in time, I would do a ship excursion. I got off in Ensenada to try and find someone selling nice sandals but didn't find any. I would have done better if I had bothered to learn some useful Spanish. I didn't need to know where the library or bathroom was!

      @VeryunOfficialTravelGuides  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Ya, I guess if it's something further away, taking a ship excursion gives you a little peace of mind, right?

      @@VeryunOfficialTravelGuides Yes. I would be unfamiliar with the area and the routes involved. Too costly a potential mistake to make!

    I went into one of those cafes in Florence where you order what you want at the register and pick up your order at the glass case and I was utterly confused. I didn't speak the language, I didn't know what any of the pastries were called, I couldn't see what was in the case very well due to the long line of people in front of it, so I just left and went somewhere else. It was frustrating. :(

    Those aggressive people that want to sell me something in the ports .... I call them "Schmeißfliegen"...
    A perfekt German word, I find.
    You know that word...
    And yes, it turns me off. I do not want to buy whatever from them.
