I can’t get a doctor to sit down with me and go over my MRIs with me. I feel things getting weaker in my arms and legs and I can’t find a doctor at the VA that cares enough to take the time and show me where my lesions are. I get a report that says “multiple lesions in the brain or on the spine.” That’s it. Not very informative. Perhaps there’s nothing to be done and I accept that. But it’s not gonna hurt a doctor one darned bit to show me pictures that correlate to my symptoms. Just having that knowledge means a lot to a dedicated medical nerd like me. I’m 41 years a professional patient and knowledge helps me be a better patient. It’s not too much to ask for a doctor to share the knowledge instead of squirreling it away like the secret mystery of the universe. Sheesh!

Dr Borster many thanks for this very informative video , your calm accurate no nonsense approach helps a lot. I watch your presentations as much as possible and wish with all my heart that I could see you then perhaps I could get the answers I so desperately seek. I know there are many people out there in the same position as myself .. suffering unpleasant symptoms which get worse , slowly but surely taking away quality of life , this condition if left untreated is not nice at all .. I call it SAS MS silent covert but effective in its destructive effects. To keep it short and simple .. I feel rubbish and I know I am getting noticeably worse my general health mobility in particular, I have fallen 5 times in a short period . No one will answer my questions .. you commented that age seems to affect degree of care .. I am 61 I have a great wife and 5 grandchildren in England..I don't have the energy to go see them ..
I have gone on enough ... so thanks again and to everyone out there who is suffering try and stay positive listen to Dr B and good luck

In a wheelchair now , that's good that the mris give the doctors info but they do nothing for the patients, we know we have ms if we feel better great ,if we get worse and mris show anything, there's still nothing that can be done but get images

I have had M.S. Symptom's lifelong, but in the last year I found that what I really have is Upper Cervical or Cranial Cervical Instability. The Instability is at C-1, C-2 the atlas and axis, due to ligament damage. This condition is not widely known by the medical community, which is tragic. But it can be the answer to many people with M.S, Parkinson's,Dementia and literally everything in between. How does this cause these conditions? Because the Atlas and Axis vertebrae can compress , stretch , kink, Nerves , arteries, vein's, the brainstem and spinal cord etc.. Some people have been "Cured" of their M.S. by having these vertebrae brought back into alignment. Internal jugular veins can become compressed and cause Cerebral Spinal Fluid not to drain from the brain correctly and backup and this pressure can effect areas of the brain adversely. This CSF will show up as lesion's around the Parry -Ventricilures (Ventricles) just like many" M.S." M.R.I.s show. Many other medical problem's from depression to Heart problem's to Alzheimers can be caused by this condition. The Vagus nerve's are often impaired also causing many, many serious problem's including Neurological. There are some really great doctors involved in this field including M.D.'s , Neurologists, and Chiropractors. This is not quack science but has been well documented by thousands of medical studies in all facet's of this condition. If you have serious neurological or other medical problem's and have been to numerous doctors with no answers, I strongly suggest you look at Dr. Ross Hauser's video's on CZcams. There are dozen's of great video's on all the aspect's of upper cervical instability. Numerous people have had or now have this condition and dont know it!!!

mabye you can help me understand better a thing my nerologist has told me about my new and first c spine lison ..... at first both him and the radiologist were unsure it was a lsons and felt it might have been a motion artifact .... the radiologist said subtle heterogeneity on sag t2, sag STIR and axial t2 butno convincing cord abnormality .... what ever that means my nero said its normally motion artifact but there's was not normal vibration lines seen with motion artifact and i did have the episode of neck pain and use of a wlaker for a week wen they found this ...... but what he also said was something about the lsions being in an area not common for ms something about posterior and in the center ...... why would that not be ms he didn't have enough time to go into details about it but eventually after i went to a rhumatolagist and ruled out any other issue he said it was my ms .... this whole prossess has confused me and even watching this video i can see these lison are seen more at the from and on the sides .....what symptoms would someone have if the center /back of the spine is effected and what dose heterogeneity mean

Good morning Dr. Boster. I’ve noticed an increase in stiffness for my right hand; specifically one digit. I would love to get an MRI of my hand. I really feel as I age, I’m going to lose mobility of that digit. It gets really bad when there is a storm moving through. How do I bounce this to my general Neuro team?

@@laurenvillegas6103 Sorry for the delayed reply. I never got one done, they did think about it, but I am part of a family cluster of MS so they didn't really bother. MRIs will show the lesions, spinal taps are used to look for elevated levels of immunoglobulins which is extremely common in MS but not required for diagnosis. A lesion is a scar (MS means 'multiple scars') on your nervous system and will show up on an MRI if you have them.
