I have seen ropes melt on the porter wrap. This looks like a better device for not shocking the tree, when topping. Love to try it out. Ten points for getting out of bed and making something that might be superior.

Lost me when he started spouting unfactual jibberish about other devices to sell his own product…. Melting ropes on a standard block what a load of made up swashleberrys, if anything I’d worry more about that thin lion tail on his device damaging my ropes
It's actually a pretty amazing device. I got to use one of of his very first prototypes and was really amazed. I did not know him at all. He stopped by our shop asked if we'd give it a shot and was purely amazed. I think that was the first and last time I've seen him lol. I'm not affiliated with him or the jail brake at all. Just giving my honest opinion.

Looks like a very sound device and definitely solves the twist problems with traditional friction devices.
