Heard that song for the first time in 2015 the day after my Mom decided to stand in front of a train because she unfortunately didn’t want to be in this world any longer. She was 17 when she had me...made a lot of mistakes, but in many ways she was great. We had an amazing bond no matter what. Everyone seemed to love her...
I drove to my hometown in the pouring rain while trying to piece everything together and find the right answers to why she left. Thats when Cigarette Daydream came on. My best friend and I quietly listened. It eerily fit perfectly with that moment, and silent tears poured down from the both of us. I could never forget the first time I ever heard that song....the connection was deep enough that it made me decide to add it to the list of songs played at her funeral. What an unforgettable track by this amazing band...

Yes. The guitar licks in the second verse have an echo and the wind up in the final chorus has a bit of an ominous tone. I love this song but prefer the album version, in which the final line "let the love light guide me home" repeats 3 times instead of two. The differences are subtle, but this version seems a bit over-produced. Should be another big hit.

As somebody who is also from Kentucky (these guys are from Bowling Green, KY, if you didn’t know) and is an inspiring musician, I cannot tell you how inspirational this guys are for me. I grew up listening to them. I was very disappointed in hearing that they were coming to the Forecastle festival last year, but then it got canceled.
