    • @JustADad
      @JustADad  Před 3 lety

      I got them from Amazon, there are a bunch that look like these. They are really flat LEDs and they have an external box that powers the light. There is a small cord that runs to the light from the box, and you put your house wiring inside the box. I love them and they look really good put off lots of light. This is a link but it says they are unavailable right now but you can see what they look like and maybe get some that look the same. Thanks for Watching!!

    All I have coming out of the switch site is one black wire and one white wire. Am I screwed? Is there a workaround?

    • @JustADad
      @JustADad  Před 3 lety +2

      I don't think there is a work around. the white wire you have it probably going to the light as a hot wire when you turn on the switch. You have to have a Neutral that runs all the way back to your panel. You can find a neutral (white wire) in a plug. you could extend it up to your switch. Unfortunately when there is only one black and one white wire in your box you can not use this. You have to find a neutral in a box somewhere close and extend it up the switch.

    • @JustADad
      @JustADad  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks for watching. This is a single pole switch and not a 3 way switch. It can only be used in places that have one switch that is controlling the light. You might be thinking of a 3 way switch that is used when you want 2 switches located in different places to control the same light. Kasa sells a smart 3 way switch on amazon at this link amzn.to/326lYry

      @@JustADad You're welcome. The requirement to pay for shipping the defective product does not sit well with me. When I checked to see if other people were as bothered by this practice as much as I was, I came across one instance where the individual had purchased a three pack of Kasa smart light switches and one failed. In addition to having to pay for shipping the defective product to them, TP-Link requested that he uninstall the other two switches and ship them along with the one not working. Because of the price point and convenience I switched from Shelly and Sonoff to TP-Link and installed a few of their smart devices in my house. Suffice to say that the TP-Link brand is no long a consideration for me. I hope others will think twice about whether they want to contend with the unreasonable way that TP-Link chooses to back up their product and warranty.
