This is awesome! I didn't realize Lehman's was in Ohio! We JUST bought 10 acres and a log home in Eastern Ohio. We move in October. FINALLY getting out of California to start our homestead journey! We are DEFINITELY going on a field trip to Lehman's!

We ordered our Lehmans’s princess stove back in August 2021. They called us 3 days ago and told us our stove (built by the amish) is ready!!! It’s got added bells and whistles, but it was very costly!! With shipping and handling, we paid $6,100.
We are excited to get our off grid farm going!!
I love that she says "it's all about the journey, wherever you are on that step, we want to help!" I love her positive attitude!

It really is a great bunch of things I see you guys doing , all pointing to the same wonderful direction & lifestyle! I watch you guys everyday now , since I ran across you in my daily searches & I am just so grateful for you guys doing this & being so honestly driven to help others without the usual selfish motives that majority of people doing this type of thing ! It really comes through in the way you do what you do , like wearing the Amish clothes . When you talked about how & why you are doing that now & how you found your way to doing it , it made perfect sense to me & everything you say & do comes through with the same honesty & I find it all very helpful & educating & I'm sure the huge amount of followers feel the same as I do , so thank you & surely looking forward to the many things that you two have done & will be doing !

I have the same feeling about this store as Stacy. I was very impressed with the show pieces on the upper shelf, especially the hand crank milk seperater. I would use so many of these products in my modern home just to get away from all the electric ones. The old way is always the best way to me. Thank you Doug and Stacy for this great tour.

Awesome! Homesteaders Disney World!!! It has been a dream of my husband and mine to go to Lehman's. I learned about how to make my own laundry soap from them. I still have the bucket, grater, and measuring cup. I still to this day may my own laundry soap (though I make the powder now). It has saved my family tons of $$$.
Oh man, this place is like Toys R Us for homesteaders. I so want to visit there someday! I browse their website frequently and dream of some of the things they have on the website.
Hopefully it doesn't close down!

Stacy and Doug I have been following you all for sometime now. I too live in Missouri, St. Charles to be exact. We sold our 5,000 sf home this year and we decided to do full time RVing now. We own property and have for almost 10 years right on the Mississippi River. Nothing quite like waking up having the peace and quiet of the water out my back door. We have 2 large water tanks that my husband keeps filled up. We don’t have a well but do have electricity. Just the fact that we have very few bills and not tied down with mortgages, loans etc. gives you freedom like no other. Thank you for a wonderful channel.
I used to live near there. I love that place they have everything! Make sure you go next door to the little store and go down stairs to the restaurant in the basement and get a cheese burger and a milkshake.

Fantastic place to visit, 20 years ago, I had the privilege of visiting, my mother and I, and my twin girls, they were little than, had them bundled in the winter clothes, my mother took one, I took the other, and went separate ways in the store, upon check out, Young lady at the register was ecstatic to see their were two, and that it wasn't my mother and I passing one back and forth :)

Wow! I’ve just had a trip down memory lane,50’s to the 70’s seeing the products that I grew up with here in Australia.
I always enjoy visiting Lehman's when I'm in Ohio. In fact, we plan on returning next Spring as I'll be taking mom, dad, and my youngest son on a trip up to Ohio.
When I tell folks about Lehman's, I tell them that it's one of those places that is worth going out of the way for, if for no other reason, to be able to say, "Been There: Done That!"
I reference the story of a few years back when I flew out to Phoenix, then drove to this town called Heber, Arizona to teach a class for the DoJ. As I was driving to Heber from Phoenix, I came upon a road sign pointing to Winslow. It was about 30 or 40 miles out of the day, but I went there, just to stand on a street corner in Winslow, Arizona .... just so I could say, "Been There: Done That!"
That's what going out of the way to visit Lehman's is like. A gotta do thing. :-)

Thanks Doug for bringing up the importance of having back-up methods of lighting, cooking, and heating! We are off grid except for electricity. However, it goes out a least once a month and can last for a few days. It is always good to be prepared and being self-reliant is a good feeling.
Lehman's Catalog is amazing! I used to go through it to see to how I could go 'off grid'. That was over 30 years ago now. I ended up married to someone who was not interested in that kind of lifestyle. I do love the catalog and I thank you for showing us what the store looks like. Thank you!

Doug, Look at the hand tools. I used to use a high wheel cultivator. Going back to Lehman's bring back fond memories. You ought not photograph the Amish but they are easy to talk to. And many will share what they do to make their farms so beautiful. I was down there one spring (we live about an hour away) and I saw a young lad with a plow pulled by nine draft horses. I watched and LISTENED. Those horses responded to his voice! And my apologies to the "wood chippers" but the fresh plowed dirt smells so good.
Doug is so right it's important about the differen in home size 1 to 10 thanks.
I have my preschool class make butter by shaking heavy cream.
So sad I missed you guys. My granddaughter is out of hospital now though. They gave her a nasal medicine now to try and stop the seizures. Please keep her in prayer.
I did order my Lehmans catalog today. I'm definitely going to make the trip up there this spring. Thank you so much Doug and Stacy for all you've done for your "Homies" this year. You've been very generous and kind. I'm glad you'll get to slow down a bit now too though. Everyone needs a little rest!

We were there at least thirty years ago. Much bigger now!! We fired our woodstove up for the first time this season today. It brings life to the house. We love it!! Cozy!
I used many of those things growing up, including the butter churn, and have driven by the store several times as a truck driver. Unfortunately i never had time to stop in, but hope to make t there someday. My parents still ad cast iron, wringer washer, butter churns, etc. that they had since their wedding day & some even longer until a fire took all of it away. The lawnmower was my tool when I got in trouble, we had a huge yard so it was a tough job. My wife & I plan to get moved back to the simpler liife in the next couple years & will likely be buying few things from this store too.

The last time we were to Lehman's was about 20 years ago. Just a small wonderful hardware store back then. Well I had to go to Cleveland clinic for my heart a month ago. So on the way home we made a side trip back to Lehman's. Man was I amazed at the difference. We spent about 3 hours there that late afternoon. Needless to say we went back the next day. Been a loyal customer but going to go back more often now. Just love them. An they are so friendly. Reminds me of the way life was when I was younger living on the farm.
I've ordered from them for years. LUV them, LUV them, LUV them!
I used to volunteer for a museum and one of the places that was so much fun to work in was a house from the 1870 in the kitchen. Learning to cook on that stove was fun.
We got a different style stove and it was frustrating at first learning to load the wood in to get the best heat, it was smaller and it was trial and error at first.

So we made our own butter shaker out of a Welch's plastic jar with metal lid and marbles. My kids love the idea of being able to eat butter that they made.

The old hand pump, I loved the hand pump the slate sink, I wouldn't mind going back to that setup, esp when the electricity goes out, like it did last week, and again today.

I went to Lehman's when I took my Ohio trip this past September. I spent 10 days at a bed and breakfast in Berlin Ohio in Amish Country and loved loved loved it!

I had to come back to this when I discovered it. I have used them for several years and yes, they are a candy store for me. I have aladdin kerosene lamps and the proper fuel for them for power outages. Be Well.

We need a Lehmans here in the San Francisco peninsula area. Every summer when the fire season comes about and we get wind storms. PGE SHUT OFF THE ELECTRICITY to prevent wildfires from occurring

Went there years ago when visiting my son and his family. Really liked it.
Omg I love this video, it reminds me of when I met may father and he took me to stay with some families in the woods that don't have electricity and live like the old day's I was 16 year's old born in NYC and I thought I wouldn't like it but I did, the experience was amazing, it was un believable. The only thing's that I didn't like was the mosquitoes and the roosters in the morning, that's in Puerto Rico. That's the best life. Thank you very much, God bless you all always

Born and raised a "Buckeye", and lived here in southwest Ohio all my life, but never knew about Lehman's until my 20's. I'm in my 50's now, and wish I'd gone before now. I've ordered a few items from them, and never been disappointed.

Also, I've been buying things from Lehman's my whole life. As far as I know, they are the best single source for off grid and simple living supplies. And in my experience, their customer service is spectacular as well.
