I'm finally in an apartment that I see myself living in for the foreseeable future and it's been such a joy getting it all set up. Nice! Portia de Rossi had an amazing stainless steel kitchen back in the 90's in one of my favorite apartment buildings in L.A.. She continues to keep stainless steel touches in her homes to this day.

One million percent love everything and agree with it all! I’m also doing a remodel at my NorCal mcm mountain home and love inspo from you, you also have a wonderfully curated Pinterest. I’ve been trying to decide on what Akari lamp to buy and I just can’t decide! We have tall vaulted wood ceilings and low everywhere else so the pendants just don’t quite work! Thinking of a standing floor akari lamp - also love chrome too with wood, love your black porcelain door knobs you shared a while back! Everything! ❤

I agree with what you're thinking re: metallic kitchens - everyone is doing it (along with the Frama shelving) and it's going to look dated for sure (it will be like limewash - people will know exactly when you "did" your kitchen when they see it). Since kitchens are pretty big investments, I'd follow your gut here.

Hello! When I like something and I see it is trending, I also always ask myself if I really like it and since how much time I like it. Only since it is trendy? Or before?
I guess it is easier for me to answer those questions because I am quite older than you are (39). So I know I can say "it's been 20 years I like this. It has nothing to do with trends"
On the other way, trends can make me "unlike" something I used to like before : for example, I used to like subway tiles a lot. Since I am a kid. Always thinking that's what I would want in my home. - I dream about my dreamhouse since I am a kid. And now, because of the huge trend it was, I ma totally sick of it... So what should I do? Do it because I know it is something I deeply like and certainly I will like it again once I will see less of it?
And an another question : what if I make some choices now that because super trendy and it makes me sick?
For stainless steel countertops, I think you can go for it. Yes it is trending but it is also professional quality. That's what you find in professional kitchens. It is highly resistant but you will see any dirt on it and need to clean up all the time so it doesn't look bad.
I think for a couple without kids it is perfect. It is high quality.
But if you plan to have kids in the house,maybe ask other people who made this choice about maintenance.
