    Shaky video aside - yes, thanks! That's exactly right. I just went through this with our 2007 Jetta and after I found what the manual showed appeared to be wrong, I started checking all the fuses, starting with the high amp 25's and bada bing - it's that lower one, 3rd to the right. Replaced it. Fixed both plugs, and whatever else is connected to that. Thought I'd check my work which is what brought me here. Thanks!

    Dude, you are awesome and please don't worry about the shaky part. The gear handle was stuck on park, I tried every possible way switching fuses, no way, I had to drive it with for two days by pushing the yellow switch under gear box until I saw your video so I just stopped it where it was showing the fuse panel and followed it one fuse at the time. Success, everything is fine. Thanks again

    I got a 2010, and I changed the fuse for the same reason and then I turn my car on and my car won't go into gear as well as the abs light and check engine light comes on. So I go into oreillys since I changed it in the parkinglot and asked for the diagnosis. It reads that it lost connection to the transmission. So they disconnected the battery thinking its odd changing a fuse would do that, then we waited. Reconnected the battery and I go to crank it back up and the check engine light is off but the car won't go into gear still and the power steering light is on and the abs light is still on. I don't know what to do

      @@gayasuddinsyed3087 I did go through the User manual.. page by page, HOWEVER if you watched the video, YOU would know there is a printing error in identifying which fuses supplied power to the 12v. • @bevy814
      @bevy814 Před 4 lety +1

      @@gayasuddinsyed3087 You should stop posting because you have totally missed the issues. Once again I'll try to make it clear...the manual VW sent with the car shows the incorrect position for the 12V fuse. When the 12v stopped working, I pulled the fuse in the place where the book says the 12V fuse is.That fuse was not blown. I did not sit there and pull each and every fuse nor did I have a multimeter fuse tester in my glove compartment . I googled a query and that's when I found the printing mistake by VW. I went to directly to the slot identified by Jakeman and replaced that fuse which was blown and my problem was immediately solved. I don't know how many people drive around with a multimeter fuse tested in their vehicle but I was not one of them. Thank you and we're done!

    Help!!!
    Fuel pump quitting
    Fuel pump replaced
    Runs fine if wired direct to the battery.
    Radiator cooling fans
    come on at random times draining the battery, when they should come on when the radiator is hot and needs cooling and after turn the switch off. They came on when the car has been sitting for 2 days.
    Last time it quit was because of a “Engine Cam Shaft Position Sensor” failure that made it not run, this only happened once. Fuel pump and cooling fans 6 to 8 times each.
    Each time it sits for a few hours to a day or so, it will fire right up and run like there is nothing is wrong, in some cases for 2 or 3 months.

    Are these the stock fuse placements? The airbag light is on after I put the fuses in what the owners manual told me where the correct places and then the car wouldn't start. I fixed that problem but now the airbag light is on and I'm pretty sure it is because of a misplaced fuse. I have a 2005.5 Mk5 Jetta, it looks like yours so I am assuming it is the same one

I looked at the fuses but they were in weird order and it took me a long time to figure out which one was which. But just swapped the fuse and problem solved lol
