The recolor looks cool, but I fear that if this event does well, we could be seeing more recolored heirlooms or even worse prestige skin recolors.
I think that would be good as it gives EA/respawn a reason to put animation Devs to update older heirlooms, as if they're not making any money there's less of a point
I don't think it's a bad thing tho. For starters free players can get heirlooms with half the crafting metals. Even for pay players we can save some metals and subsequently some cash.
It also gives you another chance to get an old heirloom without waiting to open packs. There was no way to get the wraith heirloom without getting either shards from an event or from packs. This recolor event is a way cheaper alternative. They’re also still dropping a new legend heirloom this season as well so it’s not like the recolor is replacing anything. It’s honestly just an addition
I do think that the recolor should’ve been available to buy with legend tokens to those who already had the original heirloom. But as someone who has the original Kunai, I’m just glad they’re adding animations to the older heirlooms.
I really think they need to focus on giving everyone else heirlooms before reskinning them
I mean, I'm gonna stick with the og. There's lore, and it actually goes with the portal/phase colors. If there was an overall red effect with the new heirloom, it would make it a bit better
That's my biggest issue. It should reskin her portals and animations to the same colour as the blade edge.

The heirloom looks decent, but the lack of portal and phase effect recolour makes it fall flat. The blue doesn't look good at all with it.
Yeah it should stay orange or red, like the picture it shows in the mythic shop

the day has come where even the heirloom in the collection event is a re-color. Sad to see but as long as EA makes their money they won't stop this...
I totally agree with this intense statement made. It is totally unexceptable for EA to scam us for this long. We should rebel and fight against them.
I disagree, this season there has been a lot of qol and fun additions/changes i think recolours are a side effect of this. Budget goes to the actual game and not cosmetics which is great

It's funny, because, with the heirloom recolor, the hit effect is still blue/purple, but with the red it makes it look different to me, but i aggree with you, it's a shame that we don't have a red "W" or more effects red for the recolor

I have wraiths heirloom but i ain't gonna spend a large amount of money just for a recolor.But i am gonna use 1200 crafting materials out of 3000 to get that cool legendary wraith skin.
Because it’s an event skin right now,I’m pretty sure it’s 2400 crafting medals

The "unique effects" is literally just the same purple hue the normal kunai has, they didn't even bother making it red or orange

I will not spend 160€ on it, but as a causthicc main, the prestige skin gave me the creeps, i want it
its actually way cheaper if you craft the purples, i got it for 90 bucks because i didn't have that many, but it could be really cheap.

The flourish feature in heirloom emote is so amazing. Being Lifeline main, I expect that they should make Lifeline drumming with different type of beat combos as flourish when they release shock sticks recolour.

I generally think this recolour is better then the original mainly because of the banner frame and emote but also I like the red on the blade more then blue

3:25 the point of emotes is to inflate the apex pack loot pool so people buy more just like they were probably originally planning to do with the stickers lol
As a Wraith main, I’m not spending money on this since I already dropped money for Wraith and Lifelines, if I get shards from my free packs from levelling up then sure I will get it, still, I think it looks pretty cool.
That ending was just SO frustrating - having in mind everything you've gone trough in that game :D

I took a break from apex for quite awhile and haven’t watched any videos and I’ve got to say I think you’ve gotten way better
correction: light effects on the kunai are not purple, its the same lights from the original kunai. (glowing colors are blending so they make kinda purplish effect on heirloom)

I think they just used the original heirloom and put some red/orange above and thats why it seems like purple effect and everyones like "woooow unique color" but instead its just lazy work from respawn of an recolor lol 😂 I mean it looks really cool but I don't think that was the intention behind the recolor
Wraith is literally can have the most expensive setup now. 3 heirloom type things for her banner. A pose, frame and a skin… I think it’s pretty cool, but no where near worth 480$ for it lol
Have to keep in mind it’s not $480 for 3 items (technically 5 if you count each individual skin tier separately), it’s $480 for the heirlooms and 72 other items including 36 legendary skins that normally sell for $15+ each, still expensive but it’s not like you’re spending $480 for just the 3 heirlooms
@@primordial0285 that’s true, but I think, they won’t do it, a heirloom for a newer character, should include the frame, pose, emote, skin, and heirloom. Like for horizon, have a skin/melee weapon combo heirloom would be sick
@@jhcofd6655 that would be ideal and definitely make the heirlooms worth the price tag, I personally would love to see a full set for revenant especially since he's getting his rework soon, but unfortunately game companies gotta make them monies so I doubt they'd ever do that

@@karlcanningkc Who says it's replacing heirlooms for other legends? They could just as easily release another. I bet they're trying to aim for a recolour heirloom, a mythic skin, and a new heirloom every season because $$$

@@karlcanningkc they’re releasing this as a test similar to how they released mythic skins, to see how it goes and if it’s worth making other recolours in the future, they’re still releasing ash’s heirloom and caustics mythic skin later this season. Everyone will eventually get a mythic skin and recolour/heirloom but the most popular characters will get them first since they’re more likely to sell
