I was definitely too young to understand some of these but I remember the others SO WELL.
Ok the pancakes, basketball, paper boy, and air hockey was so fireeee
I used to play this game all the time when I was super little. I think I've lost the game cartridge since, but I'm seriously considering emulating it just for the nostalgia.
This isn't boring, it's supposed to be symbolism. It represents the inner anguish and frustration Arthur Read has had over the years.

Wow, forget Pokémon Gold, this game was the shit. The graphics are amazing, the music is epic and the gameplay is so not boring.
i dunno, they did include pancake cooking. you just don't see that in too many games
