Madness- “Jubilation”- ‘Madness/ Night Boat to Cairo’-Brockwell Park-June 2,2022 Thursday

Always a celebration when Madness comes to town and if they are not playing indoors; they usually headline an all-dayer with their choice of music acts. (Today they had Squeeze and Supergrass.)
Ending the show with their self titled song plus ‘Night Boat To Cairo’, both from their first album, Madness showcase their short yet sharp capsule songs of life with poetic lyrics and sometimes humorous reflections.
An overlooked band that are actually great songwriters that have become heralded more so since their comeback 30 some years ago; they are always a great day out and the band to end the day after a great support lineup of bands that inspire them. The crowd had their own way of dancing to the songs and were momentously joyous; proving that madness is just a state of mind if you’re happy.
