FF15 FFXV Final Fantasy XV Ardyn Boss Battle - Hry
The best part of this, for me, was Ardyn's gasp when Ignis pulled out the Ring of Lucii.
For the entire main game, he's been confident that everything was going according to plan: Noctis and friends leave Insomnia, Luna not far behind with the Ring; they meet up at Altissia, and Noctis gets said Ring, etc. Ardyn was SO SURE the plan was flawless. Why not let the advisor to the "King of Light" come along for the ride? He wouldn't have been able to fight Ardyn by himself!
And then, Ignis Scientia shoots a massive middle finger at Destiny and pulls out the Ring. Ardyn is COMPLETELY caught off guard by this. His "Where did you get that?" sounds furious. This was NOT supposed to happen. That's why he fights with the entire Armiger -- Ignis is a THREAT to Ardyn's long game, and he needs to put him down NOW before anything else goes off the rails.
well said!!!
Hes like like "Now im going to ki- HO CRAP! THIS BOYS PACKIN HEAT!"
And in the main timeline, ignis was the one who got the ring to noctis while he was unconscious, so it makes sense too!
It may be the last great (and greatest) middle finger to Ardyn by Bahamut ! x)
Ardyn: ( F U R I O U S L Y T E A B A G S )
Iggy after beating ardyn: Noct......That's...........it.......... I've come up with a new reciepe
'Ardyn soup'
Kingslayer Stew
DnDn-f eww no, it would just consist of black sludge and what not. But I guess even Ignis would be able to make it look somewhat appetizing xDDD
DnDn-f " great cant wait to try it out"
Its stats would be like -hated by god
@@septicstache9625 I guess it would be just spaghetti with black sauce...
AN ENDING WHERE NOCTIS DOESNT DIE AND IGNIS IS NOT BLIND?? my life is complete
yeah but it's not the real good ending. The reason Noct had to die was so that the power of the Lucii could be taken into the Astral Plane, allowing him to kill Ardyn in both body and soul, completely annihilating the starscourge. But here, the starscourge still exists. Things will go wrong again
@@jstar3382 true
@@jstar3382 Not true and here's why:
The scourge was itself corrupted by Ignis, who forged the contract with the ring itself. This made Ignis be the one to infuse the power of the kings himself instead.
While Ignis may not be of the Lucii family line, his ties to royalty surprisingly allowed Ignis to use the rings full power, and with the power of the Lucian Kings (we see their royal arms appear as holograms each time Ignis lands a hit) the scourge eventually was damaged beyond restoration.
This means that Ignis corrupted Ardyn's Immortality so much he remained in that form post credits.
This gave Ignis (with his vision restored) to simply visit the royal tombs and consult Kor, Cid, Ravus and Aranea for advice until Noct arrives.
With Noct's arrival Noct realizes himself (possibly from visions of his new fate within the crystal) that he doesn't really even need to use the Ring anymore and with the combined forces of the Royal Arms he obtained and with Ignis, Prompto, Gladio and Ravus by his side was more than sufficient.
*Since daylight did return and Noct was still alive, he really did succeed this time without having to sacrifice himself fully*
@@jstar3382 Also I forgot to mention that by corrupting the scourge, Ignis actually damaged Ardyn's soul as well.
With the full power of the Lucii kings ignis combined their power with his elemental power and infused it into his daggers.
The lucian weapon holograms demonstrate Ignis using their power with his and although he didn't finish off Ardyn (Probably since that had to happen in the Astral Plane, or maybe because he didn't descend from the Lucian line), he really did do irreversible damage to the scourge and Ardyn's soul.
Since Ardyn remains the way Ignis left him, as I stated before he no longer was Mortal as the scourge was weakened, leaving Noct with finishing off what was left: Ardyn in body.
With the combined power of Prompto, Gladio, Ravus, Noctis and Ignis, the weakened Ardyn wouldn't hold them off for very long and didn't since daylight did return.
However things will possibly go wrong again, but not due to Ardyn but rather Bahamut.
Ignis lucis caelum
Gladio: I took down the master of swords
Prompto: I took down a giant machine
Ignis: I took down a powerful ardyn alone. No one can best me now
Noct: I believe you!

Ardyn: by myself I defeated noctis
Okay, I believe you.

Best comment. (Yes, I know, 5 years late, but I don't care!)
Happened to me like 5 minutes a go during this bossfight 😂😂😂
7:40 that moment when Ardyn thinks you’re a casual and teabags...
haha
that made me fucking laugh to hard XD
It’s not a bug, it’s a feature.
or is he wavedashing?
I was so serious but lost it at this moment XDDDDDDD
Ok ok, I’m a huge fan of Prompto and I really loved his DLC but.. Wow! I’ve no choice but to admit that Iggy’s DLC is the best!
Who knows? Maybe the events of Episode Prompto happened during the timeskip of this ending?
Story wise anyways. Not gonna lie, the gameplay wasn’t what kept me hooked, I actually found the gameplay a little boring repetitive. But the story is the real reason to love this DLC (as well as that main theme)
Charlotte Ross same here.
Be honest, Ardyn and Iggy had the best dlc's.
We would've gotten more of it too if it weren't for those meddling kids, seriously though it's very tragic that everything got cancelled and I'm still butthurt about it to this day.
It makes me wish Nomura made this because apparently Nomura has no personal life outside of Square and has no reason to stop working for them.
I have nothing wrong with Hajime but we all know if Nomura was assigned to this the game would be finished at this point in time, at least Nomura might see his vision come to life through Verum Rex.
This game is sad for more out of Universe reasons than in universe, I'm hoping they come back to it one day after FFVII Remake or something, just to give us Ebony mod manager or something.
The petition for that is still going too.
So what you're trying to tell me is that if you decided to humor the guy for, like, ten minutes, then the whole main cast would have made it.
who knows how long ignis was knocked out for … also they probably tailed ardyn
@Long Tang She isn't the main cast. Admittedly, neither is Ravus...
This alternative ending is canon. You cant change my mind
@@davidgigauri2512 Alternate timelines mean alternate canons. So I guess your right in that context.
@@LuckiSir prefer that ending to the real one
i thought the play along choice was the choice that will make ignis evil and turn against noctis.....turned out he was even more loyal
I thought the same.
10:38 this moment gets me everytime. Everything is perfect in those few seconds. The voice acting (huge props to Adam Croasdell at this point), the music, the animation, the atmosphere. Oh em gee I am crying
then ardyn starts tbagging
Ardyns teabag is the greatest thing on this episode.
That scene with Ravus 20:04 almost really made me cry to and to see the bonds formed between characters and how they all came a long way together it's a better ending then the original. Final Fantasy XV will forever hold a place in my heart.
That organ Adryn theme thou...
And the thumbnail. Never change it.
I can't figure out if that organ theme has a name.
the theme name is Ardyn IV
Maestro i
Well it is a more positive ending, at least.
I can practically hear Bahamut in the background being like:
* Sees Ignis with the Ring *
Bahamut: WHAT THE F-!???
*Sees ignis overflowing with power*
Bahamut: well shit I didn't see that coming regardless it won't be enough to •••••••••••• ah how the fuck.

This is how you create a supporting character, Square!!!
Paolo Ibayan and a villain
True. Barthandelus is a piece of shit compared to Ardyn. He's well crafted.
Paolo Ibayan Bar who? 😂
Paolo Ibayan Ardyn Izunia owns his world while Bart is nothing more than a puppet
Square knows.... THEY made it!
Can we take a moment to appreciate that Ardyn had one hell of a mugging coming his way with Noct, the bros, AND Ravus gunning for him?

James Atkins yaaay a RWBY reference

LMAO Ardyn teabags the floor 8 times before fighting.
i was wondering if anyone noticed, what the hell was that? XD
Lol he's like get rekted
Ignis: You may have the power of kings! But you can't beat me!
Ardyn: How so? Do you think that small ring will save you?
Ignis: No! But I have the power of potions and "pause"!
Ardyn: (starts to sweat intensely)
Ignis really is the best party member. Probably the overall best character.
1:10 the moment he says crystal the classic prelude starts playing.
When Ignis is the true hero, literally everything turns out better.
I'm telling you, episode Ignis cured my depression. The alternate ending was amazing, I'm now accepting it as the true ending.
I haven't read the novel but i think episode Luna and episode Noctis follow this timeline
Gods be like: Yeah we punished him for being evil and all, so he can’t be king.
We let him keep his demigod like magic powers of magic and weapon summoning though, no reason to strip him of those.
Fr
I don't think they can steal his inherent magic away, as for his weapons he could have reclaimed them.
Plus it's also presumable that even if they tried to take ardyn's powers it wouldn't work. He's stated he can gain power by absorbing more daemons, and in the final battle has a power equal to noct's power of light form as a result of that. He had most likely absorbed too many daemons by the time he was cast aside that they could fuel his power whether his original abilities were stripped away or not.
The original intention For FFXV was supposed to have been that Adryn was actually a Scapegoat.
Bahumut in this version was to be revealed that he hated humanity, and wanted it destroyed, so he set the events in motion to have Adryn do his dirty work for him.
There was supposed to be a DLC that involved Adryn managing to crack that fact, create a team up of the heroes, and eventually defeat Bahumut to get the Hero's death he so dearly desired.
He wasn't even evil at the start, I don't honestly know why "Cain" was punished but "Abel" wasn't.
Somnus pretty much ruined Ardyn's life just because he didn't want his brother to have the throne, why didn't the Gods feel this and punish him instead? Maybe they only noticed Ardyn's attack on Insomnia and nothing else?
Very selective omniscience from the Gods there.
did he just....teabag at the fight's opening?
YES xD
Since Ignis never went blind like in the original timeline he was able to do research on Ardyn & the Starscourge while Noctis was in the Crystal sleeping. During that 10 years he was able to find a way to defeat Ardyn without Noctis dying.
From what I can gather, Ignis theorized that people with ties to Noct’s family could wield the ring as well, so Ignis made that sacrifice and beat Ardyn to the point where only his demonic corruption was keeping him alive.
7:45 So Ignis unlocks Ultra Instinct and Ardyn is Goku Black with the scythe.
Jaylen Davis pretty much

He wields the Scythe of Etro. I am impressed.
Ardyn is part of the Royal Bloodline as well so is that Scythe is probably his Royal Arm (Original Weapon).

Ardyn says his brother snatched the throne, meaning he was meant to be king, ie the first born. He was the heir to the throne who spent his days roaming the land healing people of the scourge, absorbing their taint and the demons they held. In the other original timeline Ardyn says that his brother was a jealous king, one not yet chosen by the crystal, ostracized and demonized him, making a true monster of him.
So piecing it all together Ardyn was the heir who in his earnest to save everyone absorbed the star scourge into himself. This led to his being forbidden his ascension as stated by Bahamut. Afterwards his brother, jealous of Ardyn used his fall from the Astral's grace to slander Ardyn, exiling him, and locking him away in Angelgard. Ardyn says he was trapped the dark for ages. So after losing his inheritance to his selfish brother, and sacrificing his own soul to heal the masses, Ardyn was left to stew in that state of anguish and bitterness of his betrayals for hundreds, if not thousands of years, with the starscourge festering further within his broken heart, twisting it into something wicked. So to me whatever he was before he lost the throne, I don't see how he wouldn't become the deliciously vicious mastermind we have before us.
Mischievous One Apparentky the dark he was locked in was ancient Egypt, at least according to Assassins Creed Origins, and we have the main character to thank for freeing him
Well, congrats, you pieced most of it together.
Granted, no one would normally think that Ardyn would speak the truth in such matters, but as it turns out...
Let's not forget that Ardyn took the scourge from people into himself AT THE ASTRALS' BEHEST. He did their bidding and they still backstabbed him. The game was rigged from the start.
@@cganale not true. He was named the true king by both crystal and gods originally, until Somnus found out, killed Aera, and destroyed Ardyn's life. This in turn destroyed the original prophecy. Ardyn was supposed to have cured the Star of its scourage, but once Somnus took the throne, it changed everything. That is why Ardyn was given a new destiny, not because he was bad or predestined for this: his original was taken from him. And that the scourge built up in the Star for thousands of years because it couldn't be purified by Ardyn as before.
Bravo
I compliment the battle and the details seen in Ardyn's comportment changes from when he sees the Lucii ring. He goes from not seriously fighting and kicking Ignis back to using Armiger to try and kill Ignis. Though the ending is convoluted since no discussion explains how the group defeated Ardyn, the alternate ending is interesting. Many players do not approve of the multiple endings, though the story began as a alternate choice given by Regis by allowing Noctis friends to travel with him, in comparison to the Omen trailer when Noctis traveled to meet Lunafreya alone. The story of Final Fantasy XV is man trying to control their fate in hopes of a better outcome and not to succumb accepting an end the beholder does not want, except Noctis who chooses to accept his destiny.
Ardyn doing the teabag of victory so early!
This ending actually makes a lot of sense. First, Lunafreya telepathically lectures Ignis about the Lucis Caelum Beef. Ignis pieces up the info as he walks towards the final battle.
He meets Ardyn and learns that Ardyn is Noctis' uncle and the supposed founder king. Ignis rejects Ardyn's offer to accept him as king and instead battles him.
Although initially defeated by Ardyn, Ignis resists and breaks free. He then realizes after piecing up Lunafreya told him and puts the ring on, knowing that although Ignis isn't from the Lucis Caelum family, theoretically by having ties to the royal family he could theoretically use the ring.
Ignis decides to risk sacrificing himself to save Noct, and puts the ring on. Surprisingly, his theory was correct and he could partially access the rings power. He then evenly fights Ardyn.
*After the rings power wearing off, Ignis finally realizes that to use the ring's full power, he had to sacrifice himself. He submits to sacrificing his life and the ring of the Lucii provides him with full power. This is where fate ultimately changed, because Ignis swiped Noctis' place as the chosen one by forging the contract of sacrifice. Because of Ignis' ties to the royal family, the ring through Lunafreya allowed this to happen.*
Ignis then battles Ardyn to the end and actually gains the upper hand. After a climatic battle, although Ignis didnt fully defeat Ardyn, the rign of the Lucii powers Ignis infused with his daggers finally did irreversible damage where Ignis corrupted and weakened Ardyn by damaging his starscourge.
*So ignis essentially permanently destroyed Ardyn's regeneration. All that was left was to finish a weakened Ardyn off (which was evident since Ignis permanently left Ardyn in the state he was in post battle confirmed by the credits).*
*So instead Ignis suggests to make a long tour around the Kings tombs's while Noctis remains in the crystal. Notice how unlike in the original ending, the group remains together at all times whereas in the original stroyline Talcott mentions the group became distant during his absence.*
The group reunites with Noct in the future and meet with Ravus (who after allying with the group, instead goes incognito to avoid Ardyn until the final fight, instead secretly taking the Father's sword from Zegnautus keep. Ravus then hands the sword to Noctis.
*Because of the irreversible damage Ignis inflicted on Ardyn, there was simply no point in using the ring anymore as Ignis already took the sacrifice and destroyed his immortality. So with Ravus, Ignis, Prompto, Gladio and Noctis on board was more than sufficient to defeat mortal Ardyn. In a matter of a oess than a day, Noctis and the group defeat Ardyn and since daylight was restored due to Ravus still being alive (being from the Nox Fleuret line) it is confirmed that Ardyn has been indeed defeated once and for all. And this episode can indeed be considered canon because its an alternate ending, creating a separate universe continuity.*
This is nerd-level logical explanation I have seen thus far (no offense of the nerd part), you deserved my first like, even tho it's 1 month late

DAPLAY! Basically, everyone does.
Goblin Saltitante TBH I feel the original tied it up a lot better but I can appreciate this.
Eh i actually liked it not being an oh so happily ever after everything, and the darker ending (the true ending) of the main game was in my opinion more impactful and interesting.
Though i won't hate on them getting a happy ending
It is a canon ending!
nah, i love the actual ending. I mean, how did ignis manage to beat Ardyn? Even noctis the true king took 10 years to be able to wield the power to beat ardyn. How convenient. XD

little funny nod at the end. You can clearly read from lips that Ignis says "Your Majesty" as he said before to ardyn he having only 1 true king after Ardyn asks him to say "your majesty" never noticed that before
This fight was surprisingly difficult my first time around. I couldn't figure out why no matter what I did, I couldn't seem to do enough damage to Ardyn in time. Turns out I just needed to get really good at those counterstrikes, lol.
So ignis is a badass that saved everyone. I️ could see it.
Does anyone take notice of Ignis' reaction when Ardyn reveals his true name?
"THE FOUNDER KING" ??
My theory is that Izunia (not confirmed) stole Ardyn's name and take the throne. Logically, to steal name you have to be identical in appearance. Thus, Izunia and Ardyn is most likely twins.
Rasdan Could be. In a sense that story may have a Cain and Abel dynamic ( one brother was praised while the other walked the earth in exile with a blackened soul.) Perhaps that theory could be proven when Episode Ardyn comes out this year.
I hope then that Ardyn does some serious light and shadow work for to stop being a almagam of demons and insteads transforms to a whole being by actually taking responsibility.
And then he can go kick Ifrit's butt for causing all the nonsense in the first place.
if you guys watch the new episode Ardyn trailer, Somnus Lucis Caelum looks strangely like Noctis.

ryuuotaku35 yep. In his full fledged glory lmao 😂😂
Gotta get your pre-fight squats in
Holy heck that's some dark souls type disrespect
Neko Nomica *points down*
He said "git gud"
Another theory as to why noctis could have suvived in this ending is because not only did ignis had more time to prepare for that day but also the fact that noct was not trapped into the crystal by ardyn but willingly went in and had more time to master the ring so he wouldnt be killed but the one factor that adds it up in my view is that one more blood price had to be paided for the ring to be powered and partially weaken the star scourge ignis refused to let fate take the life of his bes friend and ignis was the one who payed the final blood price rather than noct.
5:00 So it WAS Ardyn’s brother who took the throne from him!!!
tbh. I dont think his brogher "took" his throne. I imagine Ardyn as a blacksheep of the family. He accepted the task to help eradicate the scrouge, in repay for the throne, but he asorbed it. I dont remember it saying the Astral task him to absord it, just but rather just repel it? Anyway, I would prerfer Ardyn just a psychotic jealous lil bro than just a tragic fallen-hero like what happened to Itachi... Ardyn is best as being a villain.
Nicolas to bad he's a fallen hero still
A fallen hero, yes, but hopefully not tragic. Like giving him a sob story. Let him remain an assholli he is lol
Nicolas
Wasn’t Ardyn a “healer of the people” as he called himself when he revealed his name to Noctis? Would that make Ardyn the Oracle of his time? I always imagined that Ardyn was chosen to be the first king, and was the oracle at the same time, and the gods were like “WHOOPS WE FUCKED UP. EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE DOING GOOD DEEDS AND HEALING EVERYONE YOU CAN’T BE KING ANYMORE.” But that’s just how I imagined it. I guess we will finally (hopefully) have our answers when Episode Ardyn comes out.
Yeah..he could be an oracle too. And after his corruption the Astrals then decieded to give the title of king (and crystal ) to his brother at the same time give the healing powers to the Tenebrae maidens. in a way, they really ereased him from history as if he never existed of made some helping progress...
Another question to mind is the there's 114kings in 2000 years???
A bit of a shame that Ignis receives no new weapons/moves upon receiving *the power of 13 OP magic-using kings* and only gets a stat boost and visual changes. They're damn cool visual changes, but...
Why would he receive a new weapon? The royal arms are only linked to noctis because he’s related to the Kings, and he can call upon them through a soul bond as cor stated. When Nyx wore the ring he didn’t get any new weapons.
The ring can amplify the power of an individual, but it’s true power can only be unlocked by the chosen king
Late for this but the ring only held the souls of 13 Lucian kings.
Guest composer Yasunori Mitsuda and alternate timelines, they went full Chrono Cross.
I didn't know Ardyn wore Mascara, he must cry a lot for it to drip on his face lmao
Hardy Joe it's the blood of the daemons inside him.
Garland Garrison you know that reminds me of Vayne solidor when the occuria took him over, looking like a wrestler on steroids with mechanical wings coming out his muscles, lol...
Ignis sacrificing his life to have the power of the ring reminds a lot of a persona awakening the only missing thing is I am thou thou art I XD
ferdyX93 *well yes. thought of that too*
I like how Noc went for Inigis and didn't feel any pain or sadness of his beloved Wife that just die...or she live
Kou Yang noc has that cute dark haired girl.
He had pain and sadness for his wife, that's what he mean by "can't save the one he love", he refers of Luna and almost Ignis, that hurt him to not have been able to to be the one to save them

@@ernestobustos5718 more like the rushed edited original ending. the original had 4 endings planned and 2 entire story missions / areas that were cut due to coding / bugs that could not be completed before the set release date, hence the odd dlc. this stuff is not secret and was in nearly every game news site when the game came out. The FFXV DLCs had one destined path and explained what happened during those sections of the story left unexplained. This one however showed what could’ve happened, beyond the normal path and into the many possibilities. I’d like to think Ignis’s alternate ending was the true ending. Would there were a way to expand upon this concept...
I have to say, episode ignis is the best dlc so far imo
Everybody it's not the good, it's the bad end because Ardyn still lives in the "other world" and when Noctis dies he cannot defeat Ardyn because he'll be weak and old...
Classic Yasunori Mitsuda. The soundtrack is somewhat reminiscent of Chrono Cross and a little bit of Xenogears. I hope the next Final Fantasy the composer will be Yasunori Mitsuda again. I really love his music
And I also hope all of the episodes will be integrated in the main game with the missing ten years, the alternative ending becoming the main ending, and additional episodes for Luna, Ravus, and Ardyn, episode for the King's Glaive and also be integrated to the main game. I know the possibility is very slim but theres nothing wrong in dreaming lol. With these moves, I think they can finally redeem this messy game. As it currently stands, it is not enough. If they can provide the additional episodes and integrate it with the game, Im willing to buy it once more.
Ignis was the main character, change my mind.
Did... Did Ardyn just BM Iggy at 07:40 ???
Is drowning out the dialogue during Ardyn's speech before the crystal a design choice? In the main game, it was Noct grunting drowning him out. In this version, it's the obnoxiously loud soundtrack.
7:35 Ardyn doing some Final Fantasy VII style sit-ups to prepare for battle XD.
Way better ending. Feels like an actual Final Fantasy rather than greek tragedy. Alas, we got what we got. Shame.
Welp this just goes to show that apparently if ignus did one thing different he could've saved the damn world. So really we should blame the rest of the game existing as it does in ignis. Like wow everything wouldve been better.
Wheres the learning new recipefight?
7:38 Ardyn shows dominance by t-bagging in front of Ignis
Ignis looks pretty good with his hair down

How awesome would it be that by the time the PC version comes they would incorporate all of the DLC into the main game itself - including this choice from Episode Ignis. The only problem would be that this choice would contradict episode Prompto (and the whole train sequence would not happen). But with some slight changes it could be made to work. "Play along" could mean that Ignis would just pretend to be an agent for Ardyn until Chapter 13 and all the events from the train and episode Prompto could still happen. Only Chapter 13 itself would have to be changed (again :D) to show the fact that Ravus is still alive and together with Noctis and Gladio is trying to save Prompto while Ignis betrays Ardyn and fights him.
The whole thing could be patched into console versions too of course for those who have the season pass. This would essentially give a true second ending to the game depending on your choices. It would be glorious....
Is it me or did I see Ardyn T-bag after Ignis put the ring on.
Does anybody know the name of the song that sounds when Iggy show the ring at 6:45)
5:29 RIP Ardyn Hat
4:54 the way Ardyn says off with your head had me laughing
I think after this ending tabata is going to add insomnia as free to explore
That would be so awesome
Sad part that it's already coded into the game and will still can't go there. What this game could've been. Dude was not the best guy to direct this game.
The undestroyed Insomnia, thanks to the Governor-General Ravus. The negotiation scene back in Altissia is important
I like this ending a hell of a lot more than the actual one
I loved this alternate ending :D badass Iggy was great
lmao was Ardyn teabagging at 7:40? XD
What did ig is day at the end? His voice was silenced out, but it looks like he said “your majesty” or something.
HAHA THE TEA BAGGING
I came to this to show someone the scene of Ignis putting on the ring and I just burst into laughter since Ardyn started teabagging at the start of the fight
Just imagine if the season 2 dlc pass wasnt cancelled ahhh
You can sign a petition to change it
Do any of the items from other DLC transfer to the main game somehow or do they stay in that part of the game only?
5:00 Reinhardt is here!
This ending is way better with everyone being alive noct Ravis and ignis having his eyes back
Agreed but I kinda have to wonder, is Ardyn truly dead in this ending since in the original, Noctis had to "die" and follow him to the afterlife with the spirits of the kings to finally destroy him (my interpretation),
TheAdventGamer Nope. Just as Ardyn said, it has stopped him for now but he'll have his revenge.
Ignis doesn't have his eyes back, he still loses them after using the ring. Literally the only thing that changed is the fact that Ravus survives. Also it's not really an alternate ending, more like and alternate way to the same ending. After the scene where they enter the palace and Ravus gives him the sword Noct still has to fight Ardyn and sacrifice his life to stop him.
But I thought it was necessary for Noct to be trapped in the crystal and then later sacrifice his life anyway? I mean, otherwise the gods wouldn't have said that it's his destiny. And the very end with Noct sitting on the throne and Ignis stnding in front of him has to be something like the last camping scene or the scene with him and Luna at the end of the main game, because it's day outside which would mean that Noct has to be dead at this point, meaning that it can't happen in reality, meaning that Ignis' eyes being healed never happens in reality either.
I'd like to ask you where you get the evidence from that Noctis never had to die and Ardyn was just leading him to believe so. I'd also like to know how Ardyn made it possible for the Crystal to absorb Noctis in the first place. I'd also like to know what exactly Noctis was doing in the Crystal in the original storyline, I mean he spoke to Bahamut, that always seemed like evidence to me that his time inside the crystal was necessary to fulfill the task set for him by the gods. And didn't Bahamut himself say that Noctis needs to be sacrificed? Or was that an illusion by Ardyn too? Then what about the time where Bahamut was summoned for the fight against Ifrit? Also, if Noctis really didn't enter the Crystal, if the fight against Ardyn played out completely different, then why didn't we see any of that in the alternate ending? Why only stuff that seems insignificant instead? Maybe because the stuff that was shown was actually the only stuff that changed?
I'd also like to say that, if this what-if ending is actually the true good ending, then this sucks. Presenting us a better ending than the one players worked for, that the players went through the entire game to achieve. Why would you even bother doing it if you as the player can cause something much better to happen? Of course the journey to the ending would be fun, but you'd also lose all investment in the characters' motives, and thus any investment into their personal story. If it would've been only Ravus who gets a different fate in the alternate timeline, then I would've been fine with it, but this...
that made me cry so much T0T
Ok, I’ve played ffxv like 3 times and even now that part after you first speak to Bahamut when he tells you about Ardyn how it shows Ardyn walking around with the hat on and the scary ass deamon face lol
Having Fate/Gilgamesh flashbacks here!!
That teabag from Ardyn before fight xD
