great music choice. I just love the 2008-2012 spanish team. so much enormous individual talent and skill while still being able to play as a unit and maintain the mechanical precision of their system. we will most likely never see anything like that again.

Marco Van Basten is the CF I judge all others by, Casillas is the keeper I judge all others by.
A good goalkeeper is like a goal head start for his team coz the players KNOW that at some point in the game hes is going to get to something no normal keeper woulda got to n it gives them the confidence to go n play.
Casillas was like a 2.5 or 3 goal head start.
In a 15 to 20 year career a goalie will be remembered by the fans for maybe 10 or 15 moments, Casillas was having 10 or 15 of those "How did he get to that !!?" moments every season !
So many times Ive seen him get to shots he had no right to get to. Undisputed best shot stopper ever but not just that, he commanded his area, was good on crosses, terrified top class strikers in one on ones & he was a top class penalty stopper.
A fantastic keeper.
Hes the goal keeping equivalent of Brazilian Ronaldo hitting the European scene as a 17 yr old, he was simply that good nobody could really believe it.

His sense of postion is 100/100. That with his 99/100 reflexes makes him a true Great One. Imo it was not Iniesta who "won" the World Cup for Spain in 2010 it was Casillas
his only (and huge) disadvantage was his size. He had to compensate for this with athleticism. But even from this compilation I can list like 30 shots that required a diving or jump save which keeper like Courtois or Neuer would just pluck out of the air.

Grandes reflejos, y una ubicación excelente. Pero no tenía buen juego aéreo y además es por todos conocido que es un arquero con un prontuario de errores y partidos flojos importantes.
Con esto quiero decir que es uno de los mejores de este siglo seguro, pero los que lo rankean como el mejor absoluto de esto o aquello lo sobrevaloran demasiado.
Y hablo solo sobre sus cualidades, como con cualquier jugador, los logros van aparte porque es un juego de 11, aunque sí vale y mucho reconocer que fue clave en el mundial 2010
Tienes razón, grandes reflejos y una muy buena ubicación, es verdad que en el juego aéreo no era el mejor, además,es conocido solo por sus malos años, nadie recuerda los buenos, no se porque, tal vez porque fue 2008/12 de ahí no volvío a hacer el mismo, todo arquero tiene buenos y malos años.
Además de que gracias a un infarto que sufrió en el corazón y súmale el estrés de los directivos del madrid y la prensa agóbiandolo como siempre…..pues en normal que en sus últimos años la gente lo recuerde solo por sus malos años, que por el bien se su salud y bienestar fueron los últimos.
Para mi no creo que lo sobrevaloren, y lo de los trofeos eso te guste o no es parte de sus cualidades en los partidos de torneo, al final del día es tu opinión, en mi humilde opinión yo siento que Íker es el mejor, solo que aveces comentarios como los tuyos me hace dudar……..

i sad how he got treated at the end of his career but what you expect by the joke of a club which is real
Great respect for him, particularly as a person, but I believe is the most overrated goalkeeper ever. For pity's sake good charisma and reflexes but despite his reputation he rarely made great saves whilst he was very prone to mistakes (Real Madrid almost lost a ucl final due to his gaffe mentioning one), lacked in using feet and coming out. In addition his prime was al already over when he was 31/32 (no wonder Mourinho chose Diego Lopez instead of him in the majority of matches and his club got rid of him after 2 years). Again, good keeper but if he wasn't playing with madrid and Spain he would considered just an average player. Buffon, Neuer, Oblak, Courtois, Julio Cesar, Cech are all better goalkeepers

He’s the best gk in history if we talk about speed and reflexes. Once he got old, you can see there was no foundamentals to back the loss of those atributes. He was known to train poorly so that explains a lot

@@federicoardenti4051 Buffon was an amazing goalkeeper, nobody doubt it. And Zoff, Pagliuca, Galli, Albertosi, Peruzzi, Toldo...Italy is a paradise to find goalkeepers. And Casillas was an amazing goalkeeper too, better than almost anybody except maybe 3 o 4 in the history. In any sport, your career and your achievements deserves respect and recognition, ball don't lie.
