Apart from shooting two men when their backs were turned, one of whom was quite obviously trying to escape through a window at the time, you mean? If that's your idea of reasonable force, then you are a prime example of why the English judicial system settles these matters with twelve good men and true in a court of law.
If you take a life, then you take responsibility for it, my friend. Far too many people think their home entitles them to godlike powers that exceed those of the police, and if you think being in your place of residence gives you the right to use lethal force without being accountable to anyone, then you really do live in cloud-cuckoo land.
Martin was not jailed because he protected his life and his property, but because the jury believed he had acted in revenge for previous break-ins at his house (which negates the plea of self-defence) and that the force he had used was excessive - both perfectly good reasons to convict him of murder in any western democracy - no matter where it happens.

@@MSM4U2POM the consequences of breaking into someones home should be being gunned down.. resonable force or not... if you dont wanna get shot, dont break into homes

Thoae burglars could've attacked Tony in his own house. He had to protect himself in his own house.

The only thing he should be sorry for is the those creatures entered his home. ~If they hadn't it wouldn't have happened.

Should be a warning to burglars I knew a farmer who had intruders in his yard early in the morning a couple of shots over there heads soon got them running

Yes - that's reasonable force by any standards. And if they ignore it then they get what they deserve. I don't see how a jury could argue with that.
