- I think we all had this idea when the set was first released, and now, it's here! Hope you appreciate this alternate build, and if you do, please consider subscribing or sharing with your friends!
If there's any weird editing things I didn't catch, it's because I edited this at 4-5AM. This alt build has definitely ruined my sleep schedule.

Build now! Build now! Build! Build for ruin! And the worlds ending!
😂😂😂
Hahahaha, I may screenshot this comment and use it in the future...
WOW! Really nice alternative build
Thank you! That means a lot.
When you dropped the roof i actually gasped and jumped back! dropping lego builds are scary!
Hahaha, sorry about that... It happened a bit during recording that I'd pick it up in a bad way, and at some point I thought it was too funny to not include.
Awesome! I would genuinely buy this build as a lego set!
Hell yeah!
Wow!! This is a very good alt build only using the Viking village parts! I really think it looks amazing!! The roof and the front section are my favourite! Great job!!!
Thank you! Glad you like it!
I'd love to see instructions for this! Or a slow mo video of you deconstructing this .. (in reverse 😂)
Really cool video. Was definetly giving edoras vibes from when i first saw the set.
The finished product is really really good, well done
The rock layer is SO good
Bro I was thinking the same thing as soon as soon as the images for this set were leaked. Glad I’m not the only one because this is awesome !
Oh my god. It looks like an actual Lego set! I would totally get this if it was! Seriously, you are so talented. I never imagined it would be so difficult to make, though. But if you ask me, it looks to be worth it. The roof is so good. And I really love the gold detailing bit above the entrance. And the interior was done really well do, being just filled out enough, but not too empty like some actual Lego sets.
Thank you my friend! If you have any other ideas for what I should build, let me know!
Wow! Very impressive for only two days of work! I recently saw this set and Rohan was exactly what I thought of. I really like the rock work you added and it's funny how accurate those two golden hot dogs at the top of the pillars are!
Thank you!
This is literally SOOOO COOL. It gives me vibes of the great hall from How to train your dragon. Its a shame that you didn’t show the building process because i would have loved to built it or even have instructions. Anywho, amazing work!!
Thank you! I'll definitely show the building process the next time I do something like this.
thats so cool! love the rockwork
Thank you! The rock-work was definitely my favorite part to make, it just flew by so fast. It's funny how I basically made the build from the top down...
@@BricksAndDice lol, I think rock work is one of the most interesting and important parts of a fantasy moc, I'm currently working on a really cool moc from rivendale's pieces
@@zanderfus2723 Oh nice! Will you share it when you're done?
@@BricksAndDice planning to :)
This is a fantastic build! It inspired me to try and rebuild it myself, but I'm having trouble with a few areas if you could help. Mainly the area I'm having trouble with is trying to reconstruct the center roof part that you grip when lifting the roof, and then it would also be helpful to know how you constructed the throne.
Thanks for the video!
Thank you! Glad to see you're trying to recreate it! The roof was pretty hard for me to do, it's very finicky, and I can't really verbalize how I did it. I'll make a community post with some images though!
I just looked back through the footage I have, I sadly don't have a record of how I made the throne. I think it was fairly similar to the one that came in the set, however. The center piece I grip in the video is built on a 3x4 base (made with 2 2x3 plates) and then the roof pieces are attached using these hinge pieces: www.brickowl.com/catalog/lego-hinge-1-x-2-base-3937. Hopefully that makes sense, let me know if you have any other questions!
I had the same idea ❤. I'm going to build the same hall in a few months (I haven't had enough time to do this project)
Thanks for your great work 👍
Thank you! Do you have any socials where you'll share your finished project?
I will make a video which you can see on my youtube channel. Thanks for your interest !
HiB
Incredible!
So if I understand correctly aside from minifigures, you only used the viking village set? Because then hats off, this is insane. Even if I don't look at it as LOTR you just created a better longhouse than the OG set, its amazing. Now I want to buy this set just to create this version if its true, its unbelievable, so creative! Love it!
Insane that you came up with this👏
Great job
I love it!
As a massive fan of Lord of the Rings I really really like this alternative build! Well done!
Very impressive work !! Would you sell instructions for it ? Would love to build it
Thank you! I may in the future, but my understanding is that designing Lego instructions is a pretty cumbersome process. Sorry I didn't take better pictures/video, but you might be able to reverse-engineer it from painstaking re-watching...
I'll definitely take more pictures of the build process next time.
My man this is amazing! You should be very proud
Thank you sir! Glad you liked it.
very cool nice video. I'm interested to see what you could do with 2 or 3 of them 😀
Thanks! I don't think my budget can take that... I've spent way too much on Lego this year already.😅
Really cool video. A lot of work I respect it
I've just ordered Viking Village as a treat for myself. Would love to make the Golden Hall! Do you have any instructions? Of should i try to figure it out from the video?
Nice! I'm afraid I don't have instructions for this... figuring it out from the video is probably the only way. On the other hand, you may find better techniques than I did here! If you have any specific questions on techniques, I'd be happy to answer them. Happy building!
You show plenty of angles during the video and your thoughts on the roof will be really valuable. I'll let you know how I get on.
How did you do the rocks at the end? Are there more plates underneath or is it resting only on the bricks? Thinking about making it sturdy enough.
@@ryanwinpenny4210 I built the rock part last, and basically flipped the hall upside down and built outwards at an angle. The bit thing was to use the two 2x4x6 rock panels on their side (connected via SNOT bricks) to take up a lot of space. For other parts, though, I just did really basic sculpting with 2x4, 2x6, and 2x8 bricks, and then covered them with studs and cheese slopes.
@@ryanwinpenny4210 There were also some internal support pillars, I think I used the dark brown 2x2 rounded bricks and the 2x6 tan bricks.
Did you only use pieces from the viking village? You should put up instructions I would buy them! Been thinking of taking apart the viking village and selling but would rather do this
Yeah, this only uses the parts from the set! Unfortunately, I don't have building instructions... I'm afraid the best option is just to pause the video a lot and try to copy it...
can you make instruction
