Every time I hear this beautiful timeless melody, more or less think of this Anime I can't help but instantly start crying due to how much I personally relate to Lucy and Nana. Having been severely bullied, mentally, emotionally, verbally and physically abused all of my life... all I've ever wanted is a friend and a place to call home. Despite the graphic violence throughout, this is one of the most beautiful, poignant, and downright powerful Animes I've ever seen and it will always have a very special place in my heart.
I first watched this when I was 11 and I remember that I loved it so much, so I rewatched it a few days ago as a 15 year old and once again I am captivated by this anime. If you let yourself see past everything, it truly is amazing.

I watched this along with my siblings at a young age... one of our first animes. I was 9, my brother 10, and my sister 7. It's been 10 years, but the animes from that time have left a deep impression on me. Clannad, Angel Beats, Elfen Lied... and some others sad animes.
I remeber this somber tune almost 15 years later what a good story this anime this was. Shocking tragic hartbrakeing and even happy at points it hit all the highs and lows of good story telling.
I had a rough break up, after 10 years. She reminded me of Lucy, I play this every once in a while just to feel again. I hope she is well. Missing her.

been a while since i listened to this... before when i listened to this in the anime i was addicted to this a lot and its only later that i realised i was actually depressed and so i stopped listening but everytime i heard this randomly without warning like from the radio i kept shivering and almost cried... and now... altho not by much but i still shiver a bit

i always watched clips of elfen lied on youtube and i wanted to watch it so bad because of its gore- i searched everywhere and everywhere till i noticed it was on hulu. i was up for the gore but as i kept watching, i was tuned in for the plot. i finished this anime in a short amount of time and it will always be one of my favorites.
I had a similar experience. Back in 2011, I think, I saw the train scene and facility escape scene on some CZcams video that was called "Most Disturbing Anime Scenes" or something like that. Never got around to watching the show until this past week. It really was so much more than just the gore (although it was dope how they didn't shy away from that)

In my opinion that was way more heartbreaking and lemme tell you why, she died tryna protect him because she thought Lucy was gonna kill him next and he slapped her in the face, said she was crazy and didn’t believe her. Let’s not forget his last words she heard him say to her either “I will hate you forever” before getting sliced into two and died with legit tears in her fucking eyes😭
