In part 3 we install new rings and the new piston, put the engine back together. Lots of fun getting it back in including a problem with the exhaust and reconoidering the fuel pump
I never got to experience that Dad, Son bonding in the garage. that is something I can tell is so special and very awesome! and you learn so much! I enjoyed watching this rebuild!
Thank You for the three videos. I have the same problem with the same engine. I would like to ask where you found the parts, piston, rings and gasket set. I'll be starting my repair next week and want to source parts before I start.
Sorry I just saw this. I got the piston from www.burtonpower.com/ I needed one that was 3 thousands over and I couldn't find one until I found this place in england. The shipping ($50) was more than the piston around $40. They called it: 18649/030 Hepolite piston Ford 1.6 X/Flow OHV Kent. The gasket kit was easy to find. It later turned out that the head was warped and blew the head gasket about a month after repair. I got it surfaced and it has been running great ever since which is good because we had a lot of snow this winter!
Hi Rob, thanks for the extensive videos. I was wondering if you have had any issues with the bogging or sputtering while operating? I recently cleaned my carb from my 632, I pulled the cab and cleaned the whole fuel system, it starts right up now but will bog and sputter if I go over a bump while driving or load it too quickly, I noticed you said something about the vacuum advance and so I looked that up, I’ve been thinking I should replace that hose because it was dry rotted and didn’t have a hose clamp, didn’t know what it was but after reading up on vacuum advance I’m thinking that might help? Any other suggestions would be great. Hoping some day I’ll be able to afford a CAT 259 D3. Haha but the 632 has been a good machine to me until recent issues. Thanks!
I have not had a problem with sputtering. A while back the vacuum advance failed on my distributor. I couldn't find a new vacuum advance, I ended up having to buy the whole carburetor. Then the new vacuum advance then didn't fit properly and I had to rotate the dist. 45 degrees and move all the wires. What a pain in the butt. It can be frustrating finding parts for these old engines. On another note, I put in an electronic ignition and that works great!

Great fix ! 👍
You could have given the Torque Specs on the Rocker Bar bolts lol

Do you have a video of taking the drive motor off?
Purrs like a kitten
What a relief, winter is coming!
