I'm looking for an 87 1TX unit. 100% like yours, with oem exhaust and seat. Please, let me ask you some questions: What about 16" tyre availability? The motorbike thst I'm looking for have the same full fairing, what about "cooling" issues? Best regards and congratulations for your beloved bike
Looks and sounds sweet! I've just decided to do my own restoration of one of these. Never owned one before but have picked up a nice sample here in Oz. Looking forward to a completed bike and reliving my mispent youth :-) Good job and thanks for the motivation
no it is an 86. I bought it with 600 miles on it. Bike has been in my family ever since. I painted the wheels red back in 88 and then redid them as part of the restoration. I have the bike to a second son just 6 months ago.
Great yamaha really looks phenomenal. but I have a question as to how or what you have earned this cover instead of the original plow from the bottom of the engine up towards the tank I mean the whole building. Greet and wait for a reply.
When the bike was new many companies made parts for it. The lower fairing was made by Lockhart. I imagine it would be very difficult to find one today. I would ask on Yamaha forums and search ebay.
I just found a nice 86 that has the Lockhart lowers....I'm dying to get it before some one else snatches it up... $800... (only runs on starting fluid)...
I can get the mirrors, just getting real expensive and one of the little mounting plates that goes under each mirror is no longer available. Still love the bike though.
The FJ1200 is to my opinion the best cruiser ever made. The balance is amazing. Well done Mr, and greetings from Denmark.
I bought that bike brand new in 87 ..Rhode cbr's for years..went back to the FJ it's a nice cruiser
Absolutely gorgeous! One of my favorite bikes from the 80's!

Sounds great! I was never a fan of the after market lower fairing though. I'd rather see that beautiful FJ motor.

Your bike looks sweet! My '86 needs new valve seals, rebuild the carbs and tires. Just a matter of TIME and MONEY! Take it easy
Take your time. It really is a great bike for it's time.
Sounds great.... that 4 into 1 is awesome

The lower fairing was offered by Lockhart. I thought it made the bike unique so I added it in 1987.
Very Nice bike, gr8 sound!! well done....
Thanks. A nice machine considering its as gets. I loved the exhaust.
Amazing machine!
never heard anyone say anything bad about these bikes!

FJ1200 '86
Born to run forever
I hope it is being taken care of. It will outlast me.
Moral of the story is, never sell your bike to Kevin ! Lol
Красивый мотоцикл .
Your bike maybe a 1987. I had a 1986 fj1200, my rims were black, they changed the color in 1987, I still had the dealer pamphlets .
where can you find the ower fairing?
