I’m allergic to hickory trees and I had my sister press some hickory leaves and I put them in a frame in my room to show I’m not afraid
Madlad
nice profile pic
that’s how you assert dominance
that’s some mad lad energy right there
*SICK POWER MOVE!*
▪︎▪︎▪︎
*You show those trees!* 🌳
10 yrs later : "so here's my huge strainer that used to be a table"
Haha right?
😂😂😂😂😂😂
If you ever decide to have children they’re going to be so lucky! because not only are you creative and crafty but you’re hella patient
This comment is so random...a tad bit weird 😂
I always think the same (except for the baby's part), he's literally the most patient person I've ever seen
Abb y idk it’s part of growing up 😂 now that most of my friends have children it’s all I hear about especially now with schools being closed.
What a weird compliment
Children are a whole different level of patience lol
microwaving wood and paper feels wrong
Ikr
Yeah
it gives me so much anxiety
Don't worry, its fine. Once, I spilled water, like a litre of water on a book, and a teacher took it and placed it in the hot air oven for a bit. The book survived. Microwave oven is a lot better.
I bet y’all microwave plastic 🤨
When I was 7 years old I used to collect flowers and put them between the pages of some huge books that I had read. Now after 8 years I opened the books. It still has the sweet essence of summer. It's so nostalgic 🌺✨
Sure Jan.
wow that sounds lovely, I never pressed flowers as a kid but books were my best friend and that wave of nostalgia that brings you back can be a really cool feeling.
I remember that, when my grandmother died, we found a bunch of pressed flowers in books in her sewing room. She was a big fan of everything botany.
Also, damn, damn, the embroidery hoops with the pressed flowers ? Love that so so so much
Aw that's so nice!!
great idea, since I rarely read my book I'll try pressing flower with my book, and wait untill I accidentally open it
Tip! If you want to press flowers without actually buying a bouquet go to your local flower shops and ask if they have any flowers that aren't up to par that they might be getting rid of soon. I got some flowers that were broken off the stem or ones she cut to make a bouquet and couldn't reuse and she let me have them for free since she was going to throw them away anyways!
That is real good advice cause i don't like to pluck flowers and also don't get my hand on bouquets that often. It's also nice, to use flowers that are up for being discarded and not let them go to waste.
I accidentally pressed a flower with my ds when i was 8 years old
that's adorable
😂😂😂 wow cool
Love You how do you not know? Lol 😂
@Love You Nintendo DS, it was a handheld gaming console popular in the mid 2000s :)
I appreciate that someone enjoyed my comment that they posted it on tumblr
i just remembered that i have a book on a shelf somewhere with 4 leaf clovers😂
Cool 🤩
Me too. But with Ginkgo leaves
I pressed flowers in an old science book as a kid and they all molded lol
Updates people updates, what does years of flowers in books do?
Whenever my grandma sends me a card, she always includes pressed leaves & flowers
what an angel!
aw c:
Thats so very adorable 🥺🥺 c:
aww that's so sweet
:))
i love the fact you also show the ways you messed up, often people don’t show this in tutorials and cut it out but it’s good so i know to keep trying and what i might be doing wrong if it’s a common mistake so thank you!
I just put mine inbetween some parchment paper and put it in the bottom of a HUGE dictionary we own for some reason and then just forget :)
yeah! i put mine inbetween random books and find them a few years later hahaha
Mine are currently under a box of cat litter lmao
I used eight books and in total, they weighed...
NINE POUNDS
Same
Pretty much the same for me too but wax paper and an old phone book with an old small suitcase on top for weight. And I don't mind waiting 2 weeks for them. I just do it all the time when I'm in the garden or when I get a bouquet. I have a drawer full so I can use them whenever now.
I’ve recently taken up the hobby of flower pressing and I’ve found that using parchment paper or tracing paper instead of blotting paper/paper towels works best because I’ve had mold grow on the paper/towels. It also doesn’t mush the flowers as much/have flowers get stuck on the paper. It’s just what works best for me and can be a good alternative if you get a lot of moldy flowers like I used to
You should totally make some stuffed embroidery hoops, they are a great substitute for air fresheners if you stuff them with flowers that give off a strong scent. I personally use dried lavender buds with a mix of dried white roses, the more you have in a room the stronger the scent. Might be a fun project :)
Awesome idea!!!
I swear Shmoxd is reading my mind. I have flowers pressing atm, and then he uploads this :0
I recommend using newspaper or paper towels as blotting paper though newspaper is best. It absorbs a lot of moisture but doesn't hold it very long and the ink helps prevent mold from growing. Also great video, you did a great job and I appreciate showing what it looks like when you mess up.
For the wooden press it might help to add cardboard in the middle - so it's wood cardboard paper flower paper cardboard wood. The slight give in the cardboard might help keep them pressed but not squashed.
Another option would be to dehydrate the flowers with uhh I think it's scilica gel? And then press.
Anyways great content - you always make things look easy breezy.
Omg thank you, you just reminded me I put flowers in my Spanish dictionary like 3 months ago.
They came out very pretty by the way
I literally just bought flowers to press today..
I feel you, I just found a flower I forgot I pressed in my art book yesterday... It's almost as if he knew...
the embroidery hoops 🥺🥺
You can dry the flower just letting them hanging up side down for a week
True, but then they won't be flat
I have roses from my orchestra concerts and I actually pinned them to my wall so they dry and hang there until I take them down.
@GinaJiji not always! it really depends on the flower or herb you're trying to dry. if it's not delicate or light it's helpful to dry it down with a towel or put it in the sun before pressing.
@@ohwhosnotthrowingawaytheir1175 dude i live in arizona its 100 degrees daily and we get heatwaves 24/7 heck yes
I used to press flowers and autumn leaves a lot as a child. Not sure if I ever used them for anything though! Big old telephone directories were great for pressing stuff: the paper was thin and absorbent and the books were huge and heavy. We got a new one in the mail each year for free, so it didn't matter if I stained them with plants. Good ol' times. xD
I LOVE the embroidered tulle with the encased flowers. Can’t wait to see how to do that ☺️
“He cuts down trees, he skips and jumps he likes to press wild flowers....” ✨💕
My grandmother used to do this and make these intricate scenes with her pressings. Really takes me back.
Okay... I had just googled information on pressing flowers and found this video. Never.... ever... ever... have I seen a more amazing intro than that. Well done, my friend
Love this video! Learned some new methods that I’m excited to try. I’ve been pressing flowers for the past year using the book method and I love how they turn out. I keep all of my pressed flowers in a Tupperware container with layers of paper between them so I can stack them, and my favorite thing to do is open the container and smell the flowers because it smells like summer (which is a wonderful smell in the dead of winter). Can’t wait for the tutorials on how to make some of the things you showed at the end!!! 💖
Hey, i know im a bit late here (lol) but i just put some flowers in a pile inside my heaviest books and I was wondering how long you used to leave them there
Embroidery and dried flowers are looking perfect together
I love to press flowers and I actually just recently took some out of my make shift presser (lots of cardboard, sketchbook paper, and books) I’ve been wanting to make my own presser kit but I literally just need to DO IT!!! I appreciate seeing the crafts you ended up using the flowers with! So inspiring as always!!!
You’ve just earned a new subscriber! I know this video is a year old but it was the first one I clicked on when looking to do better at pressing my flowers (I keep them in a journal kinda a mix between a bullet journal and a diary) but I skimmed through your other videos too & I have to say I’m very impressed! You’re easy to follow. I’m also glad you show the mistakes too because it’s much more helpful! Love your content dude keep it up! 👏🏻 🎉
Every time I’m trying to learn to do something I can’t find it on yours then BAM you made the most INFORMATIVE video with FOUR different methods. Thank you so much
Pressing flowers is one of my favorite hobbies. I keep all of my pressed flowers in a photo album along with all of my photos, because each flower has a unique memory attached. Wether it was something I was given by a friend, something I found on a nice summer walk, or something I just happened to think was pretty. To me, flower pressing isn't just about the beauty, it's also about the memories
I really love how you show things that go wrong and then either have another go or say 'I think I know how to do that better now'. Idk, it's just realistic and useful and not a lot of other channels do that :) so thanks
I appreciate that he didnt cut out the fails, thanks for posting
I love the fact you didn’t give up and tried like 10 different ways, so I appreciate the effort, loved the video!
I love how you showed the whole process, mistakes and all! 🏵 🌼 💐
I was just looking for a tutorial on pressing flowers and am soooo glad I found this! You’re so cool!! Your videos are awesome
Definetly trying this 🌸💕 esoecially the notebook technique
both of the embroidery hoop diys ended up so amazing!!
I’m in love with your techniques
This is super cool! I only knew about the book method, love the idea of faster ones. Looking forward to the upcoming project video, especially that candle one. Congrats on the dope sponsorship, dude!
I like how low-key and laid back this video was, including the little mistakes made along the way. Thank you for sharing these methods!
wow we love an over achiever, drilling through the table, not once but twice! i see your dedication
This is literally so perfect!!😍😍😍😍 I have wanted to press flowers for so long!^-^
Thank you for filming the techniques that didn’t work. It’s so true and authentic.
You’re the only channel where I’ve watched every single video like a maniac doing some crazy ritual
I just pressed flowers like a week ago. I love this content.
I'm so happy that I found your channel. Every thing you do is so so so inspiring. Thanks for sharing 💖
That was so cool, I’m excited for all the mini tutorials that we’ll get out of this one! I feel like I’m in school getting ready for a bigger art project 🤓
you are so cool!!!!!! i love how you use your crafting experience and technique to make really cool stuff in a more updated aesthetic, most of the time when i google craft stuff the examples are corny as hell but yours are MWAH PERFECT💋
I've been wanting to learn this, I'm so glad you made this video!
Thanks for the tutorials! My bf gave me a bouqet of flowers on my birthday and I want to press the flowers, put it in on my laptop case and to kept it as a memory. Super helpful video btw👏🏻
Love this!
You're so creative
This video literally came out at the besttime for me!! Thanks :)
Man i am so glad the microwave and ironethods gave u as much trouble as it did me. I came up with the sketchboom method afterwords then found your video and im like yesssssdd!
Really cool. I've been looking for ways to preserve sunflowers for a vase!
Love it! Super excited to try
This is so cool! So glad i found your channel!
Thanks for this. Just started pressing wild flowers. Gonna have to try these
I appreciate how he shows all his mistakes. It reassures crafters that it's okay if things go a little sideways, and demonstrates the pros and cons of each method. Eg, microwave is faster, but you might also burn the flowers
I still find some flowers I pressed when I was 6 or something in between pages of books here and there. It's a nice piece from a past which I guess I've grown to forget as each day passes.
I was actually thinking about starting a pressed flowers collection! Thanks
I love your aesthetic so much :") and I love that you put in your flops bc it's ab as real as it gets bc DIYing shit isn't always easy and don't always come out pretty the first time (but when they do the heavens sing *hwahhhh*)
I can’t wait to see the other videos!
This is so very cool and cute, definitely gonna try this tomorrow
BRYAN! Make overalls!!

The microwave method has saved the asses of many botany students hahahaha
So true!!

Thanks for sharing 🌈
I recently graduated and my mom gifted me a bouquet (it was the first bouquet I ever received my whole life), and I’m planning to divide them to put into two frames, one for me, and the other for my mom! I hope this turns out well and she likes it🥰🥰🤞
