- Phew, that was close! A colossal asteroid just came by. It narrowly missed the Earth -- and smashed up the moon instead. Well, no reason to be cheerful. For without the moon, we could be just as doomed.
Based off the End-of-the-world Scenario by Exit Mundi with the same name.
Just a reminder that this is probably what went down in the Despicable Me universe when Gru stole the Moon.

Realistically though, this is a great scenario. It would've been quite poetic if the fragment that was headed towards Yellowstone was the one fragment that had the US Flag on it.

Finally someone who got the Japanese EAS correct. One thing i would like to add though: Japan's tsunami warning system has a higher level than "tsunami warning"-it's called "major tsunami warning" (japanese: 大津波警報) and is marked in purple on the map (formerly red and white stripes). Also, japan's tsunami sirens sound like this: czcams.com/video/EDKGgjYL-v4/video.html plus, the region marked in yellow is actually labeled 津波注意報, and earthquake early warnings say 気象庁 instead of JAXA

It’s actually modified so that it isn’t too realistic and won’t cause panic if played in a public setting, so disregard the sounds(if you’re going for realism.)

This is the best EAS scenario ever, I watched it last night and I still am scared of it lol. I also love how it just ends abruptly, no epilogue or big ending, just the fragment hitting Yellowstone and nothing, just like the United States.
You know you’re fucked when the National Aeronautics and Space Administration is the second name mentioned.
You're also fcked up when NASA is included.
AND ALSO, THE WHITE HOUSE & DEPARTMENT OF THEMPERAL PHENOMENA.
And NASA did not do Brisbane any favors. Everybody would need a very sturdy bunker and major supplies. Being above ground would mean massive loss of everything, really
Exactly. When you hear from NASA it's either something that's going to invade or impact earth. News from them is never good if it's an emergency

Holy. Crap. Coming from an up-and-coming creator like you, this was AMAZING. I won't lie, though, around the time Japan's alarms went off, the only thought I had was "Oh no. Japan gonna get rekt!" I knew all too well what THOSE alarms meant thanks to watching a few Earthquake Early Warnings on CZcams.
But other than that, I'm REALLY impressed! Can't wait for Scenario #3!

This scenario is absolutely fantastic! The scenario is short enough that it doesn't drag on, but long enough that it gets to explore the response of the governments of the world, just like in one of my favorite scenarios: The Awakening. The creativity in this is astounding, I've never seen a scenario that deals with the absence of the moon, as well as the exploration of what is happening to s p a c e. This is CRIMINALLY underrated, it has to be one of my new favorite EAS scenarios, well done IBN, I hope you continue to create content as creative and amazing as this!

just a note: there's a difference between a very large tsunami and a mega tsunami - mega tsunamis are basically just when several smaller waves (or tsunamis in a very extreme case) build up together in one wave, whereas big tsunamis are just big tsunamis. this is one of the best weather/natural disaster scenarios i've seen - you don't add unnecessary plot or characters!

Man, this is really sick! The editing, the performance, the scenarios, all great! People can really tell that you worked really hard on this, also I just have one suggestion. Can you make a british version of it?
They could have just created a missile that could have destroyed the fragment. Atleast if the fragment splitted it would have struck areas near the volcano, but not the volcano itself. This was very well done, probably one of the best EAS scenarios ever made.

This actually plausible and possible! There are many asteroids past Jupiter. Any one of the monster asteroids could break orbit from its belt and do just that.

That's what the scenario shows happening-
The pieces would be in orbit still.
And slowly the pieces would crash into earth in different areas along the path the moon used to orbit.

That asteroid would need to be a looot bigger to actually deal meaningful damage to the Moon. That thing gets struck by meteors as a lunar passtime.

I'm an ex-Detroiter for almost 40 years. When moon debris was expected to hit the United States, I thought, "It should be Detroit, a mercy killing". I was surprised when it was Detroit.
Seriously, I'm glad Detroit is making a comeback. It looks promising when I visited a few years back.

The voice mentioning CNN is also the voice you hear when you call CVS and it asks you what you would like to do. I won't look at CVS the same way again. I like the variety of voices and languages in this scenario.
