Impressive is the word! Especially these days when much of what is produced is just shock value and novelty. These are dignified and classic.

I LOVE the silhouettes, shapes and draping … but why are the colors so muted?

I am so glad I get to see the after show exhibit of the hall at musée Rodin and the silhouettes on the hall and was very proud to see two of the silhouettes with devnagari script written on it.
I worked on many fashion shows, several for this group and it always shocked me how so many months of work and worry going into a collection only takes 20 minutes to show and then it's gone, next one and so on. I always felt it was like giving birth but not getting to hold your baby.
I’ve worked on haute couture things, and they stress you out so much that you are happy to see them off, even if you do forget it later…

I'm so glad to read your comment. Upon seeing thus collection, I could appreciate the many truly Dior inspired looks. What annoys me about this show is how the clothes aren't celebrated. They're not as Couture but as ready to wear, fast with little ceremony. The models aren't encouraged to really show and enjoy these creations. It's an assembly line. Much more time should be given for all the hard work that went into these clothes. I'm sure the audience would also be happy to enjoy it a bit longer.
Yes I agree, this venue and presentation doesn't match the level and past events of the label. I cann't see how anyone there could see anything in detail and usually it's all about detail with Dior.@@sigisings
At last, beautiful, wearable and flattering clothes. Great couture doesn't need to rely on gimmicks when there is pure design at work. Love this collection of elegant, well-designed clothes.

Another tour de force distilling the true spirit of couture! Brava Maria Grazia! Those who still invoke Galliano sound so TIRED. During her tenure, MGC has succeeded in moving beyond the outdated “couture = unwearable drama” formula to proposing an exquisite day-to-evening wardrobe for the úber-luxury clientele, which was what Christian Dior did. Thank you, MGC!
Well said. The detractors are the ones who don’t truly understand couture, let alone come within 100 miles of anyone that wears it! They only know the theatrics and drama of Galliano’s couture, which although incredibly creative and unparalleled, didn’t translate into everyday wearable clothes for the elite. This is where Chanel excelled and widened the gap between the only 2 true couture houses left in the world. But Maria has redressed the balance and the proof is in the fact that Dior’s couture clients have increased considerably under Maria, so she’s doing something right!

Galliano is a master of actual technique. A true couturier. Creating legendary collections on a shoestring budget by studying Diors work. Bringing back bias cutting before he was even at Givenchy. Creating Kate Moss wedding dress with nothing but a scrap of fabric and a sewing machine. Stay in your lane, this collection was garbage.
Stay in the past reminiscing about the long gone glory days of Galliano while the world, Dior and couture clients understand that fashion moves forward and they are marching ahead with it.

Very beautiful, sublime - The problem is we are unable to actually see, even touch, the pieces up close to truly experience the exquisite craftsmanship that is required of haute couture - Remaining true to Dior is lovely, but we should understand the purpose here is to sell the clothes and these pieces are designed to sell, not necessarily show off the creative genius of the designer and seamstresses/tailors that the magic come to life

Mein geliebtes Dior! Liebes Team von DIOR, Sehr geehrte Madame Churi. Eine Haute Couture Show, wie ich es mir von Dior vorstelle, ist weit entfernt von dem, was ich heute sehen durfte. Ich liebe Dior mit Leib und Seele aber dieses Mal erschließt sich ihr Konzept mir in keinster Weise. Entweder sieht es aus wie für den Alltag oder wie für die Arbeiterklasse. Ich verstehe, dass das Handwerk und die Kleidungsstücke selbst im Vordergrund stehen sollen, aber DIOR ist Opulenz in Farben und Material, ist Raffinesse im Detail, eine Haute Couture der Extraklasse. Das ist meine ehrliche Meinung. Ich hoffe Sie können mir diese verzeihen, dass ich diesmal nicht - sagen wir mal - berauscht bin. Meine Sinne sind nicht geweckt worden. Ich bleibe trotzdem ihr treuester Anhänger aus der Ferne. Herzlichste Grüße.

classic, a bit intellectual, like a thinking about of who and what the house of Dior is. You can almost touch the thinking behind it. And who would have thought a polka dot fabric would make the finishing piece? So subtle. I kinda like it. It's not flashy, it's not flamboyant, it's understated - but have you seen the smocking or the definite nod to Indian embroidery in the details?

If you mean this, then the stock prices have tripled since Maria Grazia joined the house in 2016, and the growth is accelerated when compared with the stock prices 8 years prior to 2016. If based on this, I think Bernard Arnault will give her a raise ... ... or do you mean something else?
