'The Lakelander' - 20 May 2023 - 45231 Sherwood Forester - Flimby

Today's Saphos Trains 'Lakelander' charter train was from Leeds to Carlisle and back, with steam going north from Preston to Carlisle along the West Coast Main Line, returning south to Carnforth along the Cumbrian coast.
The train is seen here passing through Flimby Station.

Thanks Allan - there are lots of good locations along that coast line. This was close to home and didn't need a long walk, which I'm no good at now.

Thanks. Yours was a better location for a long pan, which I have done a few times from the beach at Flimby Station. I haven't been to St Helens before, but thought I'd try it. There was a person with a tripod and very large lens on the crossing just where I planned to be, so gave up!

Excellent shot Julian and some lovely exhaust, must have been a bit cooler by the coast and it doesn’t look like there’s been a weed killing train past there in a long while, good to see you out again, regards nige👍

Thanks Nige.I wish I could go out more, but don't feel up to it, and my fellow stills photographer has been out of action, due to an accident, for the last 5 months!
And yes - we need a weedkiller train down the coast!
