    Hi Kaye, I am faily new to your channel learning something new each time. I am so glad you have a son. I thought you were alone. I watched your video yesterday and learned you have recently lost your sister. I am 54 and never had a sister. I had 6 older brothers. One of my brothers died July 2022. There are now 3 left. We use to be close years ago, but not in a few years. He was 69. I believe I will see him again. He believed in Jesus Christ. Big hug to you from Charlotte, NC.

      My son is married and living in Asheville, but he invited me on a ski trip, just the two of us, and I jumped at it. We haven't travelled together since he was 15. I also have another married son, but he lives in Idaho. Yes, I believe I will see my sister again also. God bless you and thanks for sharing. I'm glad you are here. Write often!

    Hi Kaye, I drive by the EarthShips everyday, going out to the Taos gorge bridge, I'm a vendor up in the rest area and I sell the beautiful glass wind chimes next time you're in town come by and see me. Thank you for putting this up and you absolutely did a beautiful job with your documentation, and I love your channel been following you for quite a while.. so come back soon, the spring is beautiful!🦋🌹✝️🙏🌍. I would like to suggest to everybody watch a documentary on CZcams called Garbage Warrior, a documentary featuring Mike Reynolds the brains behind this and how it all got started 50 years ago, very informative very entertaining, it's a shame that you and your son or maybe you did you just didn't film it didn't go through the model and watch the video that they display and yes the greenhouse is warm and humid because that's what plants like, but you must have been there too when it was warm here in Taos, we average about 90 in the summer.

      It was in March. We went spring skiing and I fell after two glorious hours, did a face plant, sprained my thumb (lost my thumbnail), and spent 8 hours between the mountain clinic and in the ER waiting for a scan. Diagnosis, concussion without loss of consciousness. I had a headache and wasn't feeling great, but knew I needed to produce this video, so I got what I could. I'm MOST sorry I didn't know about your glass wind chimes. I doubt I will be back any time soon, so where can I see them online?

    I love the whole concept of the Earthship. I find it very interesting how earth-berm building and geothermal heating and cooling reduces your demand and need for expensive units. I'm also interested in the waste water recycling for flushing and greenhouse. If I could build again, I would use the earth-berm strategy for sure.

      MY husband and I toured alternative communities in the northeast using stone and wood as well as others in NM inthe70s. There are similar stuctures even better in my opinion for that region,Earthships are well suited as well as beutiful and creative for the southwest as well as those wanting all the high tech features ..but many an be way cheaper and simpler alowing them is a whole other deal

    I would love to live in one of those homes! But I ask myself “What would be the downsides of living like this? “. Did they speak of that Kaye? Even living in our brick and mortar homes, their is downsides….Thank you for taking us along the trip, & introducing your Son….how nice!

    • @Latebloomershow
      @Latebloomershow  Před rokem +1

      I had to practically twist her arm to give me that interview, so I didn't get any more info than that. She was very camera shy, though I don't think you can tell. The downside for me, having been to NM and AZ a few times is walking outside and everything is dry dirt. And especially out there, lot of wind, nothing to break the wind. Wind was hard on the microphone.

    Wow that is awesome Kaye! You are so lucky to have your son there to show you around for these unique communities. So people who live there actually build their own homes or they can purchase one already made? I think that would work great in certain climates but be much more difficult to build and maintain in others. Thanks for bringing us along on your adventure to Taos New Mexico!

    • @Latebloomershow
      @Latebloomershow  Před rokem +2

      You're welcome! My son invited me to go skiing with him. I fell the first morning and after having hit my head the week before when I ran into T-posts sticking out of my pickup (you can see the green bruise on my forehead), we decided to end skiing after I fell and spent 8 hours in the clinic and then the ER in town waiting for a scan. So, as a consolation prize, he drove me out there the following day. Darrell had encouraged me to go see them. I only had my cell phone and wind obliterated the mic. I have a feeling wind is probably common out there in the wide open expanse.
