Joe South - Songs of Humanity! This guy had it all. Handsome devil, mega talented songwriter/singer and what you saw was what you got! His songs hit me right in the heart, from an adult perspective. My favorite these days is “Don’t It Make You Wanna Go Home.” I recently returned to my home state, but not to where I grew up. It will always remain in my memory as it was when ai was a young girl. I see no point in destroying it. Thank you, Joe!
His music speaks to the heart of all of us. A class act from a righteous man. I was able to return to the community where my dad and grandma lived since 1920 or so. Such a blessing to experience the change that's happened (not always a good thing). I'm 60 now and thank the Lord for every single day He gives me. It's not one day at a time, it's one breath at a time🤔😏
Joe South was a peculiar character. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, he was a county singer/songwriter. But his “hits” weren't quite country. They were more pop than country. Never the less, his songs were covered by dozens of other artists. Many covers sold more than the originals. I’m sure that South didn't mind: he collected royalties for each cover sold. RIP Joe.
i love this man's music . i was a high school radio dj in 1969 and early 70'ss i loved playing all his songs . i was at a small station with lots of freedom. we didn't get the billboard charts .
Amazing Song I love it and this Man since I was born my Dad is in the Country Music Hall of Fame and honor in Macon Ga. since 1987. He was a friend of Joe South shared certain labels.I only heard and remember how much of a kind person he was. God Bless you Joe's family members, friends and fans. 🥀RIP Joe South We Love You🥀☝️🕊🥀
I bet your Dad could share stories about other players and singers as well. Those would be interesting to hear. I love Joe South and it would be interesting to hear more about this wonderful man.
I really wish someone would too. Miss him terribly. Love him dearly. His music really makes you think about life. He also deserves to be in the Rock Hall of Fame. At least he is in the Musicians Hall of Fame and Georgia Hall of Fame.
🥀Amazing Song! Straight to the point of every word. He made lyrics come to life in everyway and I've never met anyone who didn't love his song's.🥀🕊🥀✌☝️
Just been searching for this as an original from this songwriter, but listening I notice that he learned to sing his song in the Elvis-way! Yep, learning from the king! Better with Elvis’s power, much better and faster like the King did it!
Don't want to be bad, but this proves that just 'cause you wrote it, doesn't mean it's the only viable version. Elvis who didn't write songs. heard it, interpreted it, and took it to another level in my humble opinion. He doesn't get the credit from pompous music aficionados, but it's there if you listen...
Please tell me you're joking, lol. No one could be so clueless as to not know that the mic is wireless...LMFAO! Wireless mics were everywhere in the 90s. You can't seriously be trying to belittle people, and not know what a wireless mic is...Hahahahahhahaha. Smh.
Lovedvl Joe. Great song writer way before his time he spoke truth
Still listening here in Ireland 🇮🇪. 2022. A classic.
God can use some people to deliver his message , JOE SOUTH was one !
One of the very few who really mattered...
Amazing song. We are all equals.
A song about tolerance. A lesson to us all.
What a chartbusting anthem from back in the day! RIP Joe😊

Elvis nails this song...this is pretty good too
I prefer Joe's version, but both are good.
By Chance Do You Have Joe South Performing " Games People Play " ?

Lmao the mic isn't even plugged in and these boomers love to complain about pop stars today lip syncing 🙄🙄🙄
Ever heard of a mobile mic? If he ain't singing live, then I'm a Dutchman..... English saying
He's definitely singing live. He even changed a couple of words and short phrases.
@@Wa1kerBros4Ever lmao why do old people always have the most excuses 🙄🙄🙄 if it were a wireless mic, where's the antenna at the end, then, smart guy?
It'd all live, milyago moron!!
South!! A bonafide genius!!
