"where the flavor is" is an old advertising slogan for Marlborough cigarettes, he's based on that caricature of western manliness. The slogan has a few variations but it's always about being where the flavor is.
The title is a reference to the line, "where the buffalo roam," from the song, "Home on the Range".

RJ is named after RJ Reynolds, the company that manufactures Marlboro cigarettes. RJ’s appearance is based on the “Marlboro Man” mascot, and his friend is based on Joe Camel, the mascot for Camel cigarettes, marketing aimed at children.
At the time that I post this, it is 4/20 Weekend. I'm sure a lot of people will be smoke-em peace pipe hehe.

The traditional story goes that the Dutch bought Manhattan island from the natives with beads. The natives didn’t have manufacturing like Europe, so beads were time consuming to make and valuable, but cheap to the Europeans. Also there is some question whether the natives really understood from the Dutch about owning property in a European sense.
