after reviewing the footage of my 1st flight... its absolutely good enough for professional work. I'm blown away by how good it looks. The only drawbacks is no 4k and no obstacle avoidance, but neither of those is absolutely mandatory to me. And the 1080 and 2.7k looks great.
The auto exposure doesn't bother me b/c you can lock the exposure. :) Will have the footage up of my flight on my channel in a day or two from here in baltimore (surprisingly still 5 miles away from the airport)
I really like the small form factor, when you live on a sailboat you learn to buy the most compact items. Instead we chose to go for the Pro due to its ability to handle wind better. At sea this is important. Thanks for the tips, this can be also applied to the Mavic Pro.

Because of being dumb haha , rth not set right lmao . Was shooting a castle built on a higher ground . I assumed my rth was high enough , mini lost signal with controller and it hit the very top of castle . Now my drone was hanging on the gutter I guess . Dumb shhhttt lesson

Why guess which filter, just check the exposure level...if it's overexposed by +5 or under exposed by -5 the up the ISO or change the filter
As always, great video. Keep up the content. 8:45 made me laugh pretty hard! As a guy trying to learn how to fly FPV drones this was relatable on so many levels.
But the main limitations I found with the Mavic Mini compared to more professional drones are the low bit rate (so no dynamic range for later post corrections) and not enough strong motors against high winds. I almost lost it twice because of winds and couldn't get higher altitude (so greater shots) because of this. I'm sincerely considering buying the Autel Evo 2 Pro when it comes out to have greater range (altitude and distance).
I really wish you have more subscribers and more of everything. Your content is amazing and I like watching you even I don’t have drone (yet), but yeah soon enough I will get my Mavic Mini thanks to you. 😊 would be really glad if I won that giveaway tho

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere in any of the Mavic Mini CZcams videos I've watched that you MUST APPLY FOR DJI CARE REFRESH WITHIN 48 HOURS AFTER ACTIVATING YOUR DRONE! If you don't (I didn't), you'll have to apply and get accepted for after activation purchase. This requires that you make a video following strict guidelines showing various parts and aspects of your Mavic Mini. They provide you with a link to instructions and a video. It's additional insurance at a cost of $39 (US) that: "Provides two replacement units for a small additional charge in one year and covers a wide variety of accidents, giving you greater peace of mind."

Using ND Filters without having control over ISO will lead to higher ISO and not necessarily lower shutter speeds - or am I wrong? This would work with the mavic mini only if it would be possible to control or fix ISO ?
I've read a post on the DJI Mavic Mini forum...a fellow was able to view subtitles on the video he shot, and it displayed the camera settings while trying out ND Filters...his results showed that the Mini's camera was lowering shutter speed first with ND filters...the implication being if you use the correct filter ND8/ND16/etc (based on time of day/amount of sunlight/cloudiness)...then the camera will adjust shutter speed without boosting ISO. His example showed ISO 100 went up to 120, but shutter speed came way down...so moving much closer to 180 degree rule. Still, would be best if we had full manual control of the camera...but with careful use of ND filters (or NDPL) you can achieve better shutter speed results without seeing ISO rise...

@@suncityvibes2016 the RTH prompt appears on the screen, asking for confirmation to return. If you're flying in questionable conditions it's always best have your RTH set first thing up so you can fall back if there happens to be poor conditions (weather/connection) inhibiting manual control.

@@suncityvibes2016 that is unfortunate.. i haven't had that problem personally, but i've read of others who experience the same issue, who seem to deduce that colder temps, closer to freezing, tend to cause the mini to freeze up and fall without warning.

Actually in my country, television companies broadcast in FHD... so, 4k is nice, but it won't be necessary for couple of years...
For fpv drone you must try acro mode.. that more powerfull than you used angle mode..
I use acro mode... the hud is glitching...

I was asking the exactly same question. Let's wait for a reply. I think it will boost iso first as soon as it sees low light situations. But let's see if there will be an answer.

@@TheSkyHighFilms Yes I did... Just the useless drone fpv at the end that I did not watch. Nobody have proof that ND filter will reduce the shutter speed before boosting ISO. So until it have no manual control for the video, there is no use for the ND filter. The exposure lock is a great feature anyway.

Thank you for this video. exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to use this one for my business since it is under weight and doesn't need licensing or tests to legally use. In my case wouldn't the filter cause the drone to not be eligible for drone flight since the weight is bumped up by the filter?
I doubt that someone will be weighing your drone... And if they are... just quickly remove the filter :D
The ones I use weigh .8 grams so still under 250 👍

Im sorry but I dont understand how are those flying above highways, in the city, were permitted. Should had some restriction applied. What kind of flight restriction shown on the dji fly apps? Reccomended to fly?
Not a highway. According to local regulations, the MM is so light enough that it can go anywhere that's not restricted airspace (military, airports), over highways or near high voltage power lines. You can google the hotel name and "Riga" to get the approximate location.

Hey what phone do you use with your control? My drone radar is never correct. There is a lot of stuff on forums about it. Yours looks correct showing the drones position.

When I use me filtrer the problema is what the mavic mini the vídeo is auto so with nd filter up ISO :/
Just don’t use filters that are too strong for that moment.

uhhh....I buy new Laptop with intel i5 and add 12GB RAM memorry and still canot process 1080P video from my mini in davinchy resolve 16.But i can edit pictures in Adobe Lightroom.So for video edit i am stuck at Powerdirector mobile but that program is not powerful enough like Davichi...so i will must sell all my laptops and buy a PC with minimum 64 GB RAM and GPU Turbo.......
Don’t use laptops. Laptops are only good for some light work.
Proper PC will do good.

Am in France and here every images you did in this video are pretty forbidden XDDD
He's in Riga, Latvia. A drone this tiny and light is allowed to go pretty much anywhere, apart from restricted zones near military objects and air/heliports, public events and highways. This is also not a highway, but a larger road leading onto a bridge.
@@ro4ers I am jealous 😂😂 Here In Denmark, we almost can't fly anywere!! Parks and beaches are no go... Cities are forbidden to fly in, and it only gets worse 😥

Good video man, but I will not recommend at all ND filters on the Mavic mini. First, you are adding a weird weight to the gimbal of the camera, second, they are completely useless due to the missing shutter speed and aperture controls. Cheers
Its auto shutter will sense less light and sloe the shutter speed down automatically. He said it all in the video.

My professional work is a bit different... the mini is perfect for flying in urban enviroments. Inspecting roofs and photovoltaic fields is easier from the ground than climbing up on the roof. The mavic mini can definitely be used for pro work!
