  • What's better than a multitool with scissors? Well, how about a pair of scissors with a few other tools built in! The Leatherman Raptor is a 6-tool coin-cutting emergency-ready cool tool.

    Nice to see somebody not on the medical field review these. Gives a different perspective. I'm an ER nurse and I swear by the Leatherman Raptor. This review was really refreshing.

      My daughter is a wilderness emt and the Raptors are the industry standard outside the super cheap shears.

    I did hospital security for a few years and love my raptors. I still work in a medical setting and no matter where I end up I always have it in my pocket.

    Is highly important that a surgeon knows what type of wound it is on the patient when first responders arrive and call in the emergency. both the length of the wound, but also especially the width of the wound and what the edges looks like. Of course first responders get used to see how long and wide and what shape a wound has, but is never wrong to be able to quickly measure the width of the wound so they can judge the complexity to get it stitched up or if needed to tape up…

    My raptors are absolutely full metal on the handles.... hence why there so expensive or part of why anyway...and another feature that i never hear anyone mention is on the holsters.... if your in a situation where maybe you might need them more than once at a time and don't want to set them down maybe the ground is muddy or wet or something they do go into the sheath either open or closed!!!!extremely well thought out multi tool....and the seat belt cutter can absolutely be used in the open position especially if needing to remove someones shirt or top

    FYI they also lock into the sheath in the fully opened position and very well I might add. 💪🏼

    I know a paramedic that edc's this at work. He clips it inside his right pocket. They are a lot better than the department provided scissors that cost 1 dollar! And when they are your every day carry, you don't have to fumble thru the first in bag when somebody is not breathing! They cut way better than the 1 dollar scissors and they don't dull!

      I'm not a paramedic, but my friends are. They swear by the Raptors. And I see them all over poking just above the pockets in the pants of EMTs.

    It's built tuff, to take the abuse and save lives. Not suggested to cut other than copper wire, gold, or silver with the ring cutter. I was testing mine and it was damaged.

    i used mine a couple of weeks ago on a chicken wire fence as it was blocking our only egress out with a patient. it cut through the wire like you did the dime.

    I will never understand why it is so necessary to cut a coin with scissors, whatever the scissors...

    When has anyone ever needed to cut up his coins? How much did you pay for this tool to cut up your coins?

  • @markpeterson6836

    Last Leatherman tool I got and granted it was a giveaway/promotion multi-tool the blade wasn't even sharp you could literally look at the blade and see that it had never been cut or ground to an actual blade edge. Pretty disgusting quality control if you ask me.

    • @lastbesttool
      @lastbesttool  Před 3 lety +2

      Send it back. Leatherman has always made it right for me. And my second pair of Raptor shears were bought with credit they gave me for a Wave that snapped a blade.
