- I've always dreamed of staying in Hossegor this long; surfing every day, riding around town soaking up the French culture and meeting great people. Traveling alone from now on is a little scary for me, but I'm trying to get used to it. More on this European adventure coming :)

I lived in Hossegor from 94 to 97. First year I lived in a VW van. It was a beautiful place. I got some amazing surf. Made some great friends. Fell in love. Fun times. Thank you Maurice Cole for some great boards.
I love how there’s just hard core ripping surf and then just light fluffy French music 😂WE LOVE CONTRAST ❤️
🏄🏼♂️ 🕺
Well, music that no one in France listen to... only US tourists :-)
@@coolas 😂
@@coolas We love to listen to old songs during meals of "bons vivants" like Charles Aznnavour, Georges Brassens etc... with good wines and very greasy French cuisine but otherwise we listen to everything. Personally I listen to a lot of Reggae, Pop, Folk, old Rock (Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac)
hey Kale, I appreciate the vlog style of your videos, vs. highly edited pure surfing clips. I think people like to see what life is like on the other side of the world. Biking to the beach, visiting a local french market, meeting w friends for beers post surf. Personally I love these types of videos and find them inspiring. Keep up the good work!
hey Kale great vid. I grew up in Avalon and spent 7 summers in Cap Breton. your on the right path mate, just make sure you spend the winter in Morocco...
Love these, keep em coming
Loved those lefts at the end. Backside for me as well, which is almost my favorite. Good thing because where I usually surf, the lefts are typically better. Opened my mind to another possible surf travel adventure.
Great video Kale! Thank you for sharing.
hi kale, love the vids. you seem to surf better every time i see you. I'm just back in oz from france (Biarritz) and northern spain. i didn't score many waves as it was more a family trip...the swell just came as i left but its was great all the same. Wow, there is so many people in the water surfing along that coast but the french have a great lifestyle. enjoy the wine and cheese and baguettes and all the french basque has to offer.
keep up the good work and hope you score some epic waves on your trip!
I’ve been a few times staying in the apartments next to the building with the wave on the side. Worth doing a trip in hossegor it’s class😍
oh,how well represented the Hossegor&Capbreton vibes! just made me miss that place!
Dude, you’re here! Incredible to see you!!! Welcome and enjoy and thank you! I like the view from your chest! I Learn more and more thanks to you!
0:48 grom1 : "id like to poop on..." grom2: "go man do what you want" XDD 1:02 "he does a dance for us"
Hey Kale we met a few months ago at Killen Falls near Byron Bay. It's awesome you're surfing in my country 😁 Enjoy your time there, hopefuly the water is not too cold for you ^^
Have a nice time in France !! Nice to see you coming visit us :)
Love see you shredding at my home break 🫶🏼
Amazing !!!
Sick idea with the drone! Love it!
Hahaha Kale, seeing this video really makes me laugh. You came to the "Atlantic close-outs" (even if its Hossegor). Its always good to see whats out there, so you can appreciate what you have back home ;)
We're at the Atlantic Coast in France each summer for about 5 weeks. The best place to go with a family of four in terms of surfing and spending time with the family. The locals are friendly if you respect them and speak st least a little bit of french :-D we come from Germany via car and caravan
I surfed all summer and I didn't see you ! I bought the js black baron in june based on your review, tks it's the best board I have ever ridden ! Seignosse is and will always be my fav place you can just go to the north on your fatbike and surf empty lefts. I hope you will overcome this difficult period and just thank you for being you. I love watching you ride the twinsman can't wait for other reviews !
Shhhhh! But yes, mais oui, mais, non.
7:35 on, what a beautiful session!
haha the using the drone to check the surf your smart!
Too funny watching that drone out the window to check the Surf 😆👌
Tu surf bien... j’aime beaucoup ton style dans l’océan!! From 🇫🇷. 😊
the drone surf check haha
Hossegor is an awensome place! You should come to the north of spain too!
Love everything about that part of France, try and go every summer but didnt make it this year :(
Same here man.. got a summer house there but haven’t been since Covid :/
Broccoli World travels in full swing 🎉🎉🎉
Oh man , was in hossegor and Biarritz over the summer as well. Would’ve been great to see and meet you
Super Kale 👍🏻 j'adore
I think my pulse went up just by viewing all these waves you caught in a row 😂
Whene were you there? We were in Hossegor at the beginning of August. Nice surf vacation! People in the water were very nice :)
videos like these are sick!
Damn...those waves look soooo fun!! Love the lifestyle this clip shares, would love to hit Hossegor one summer 🤙🤙🤙
There's no waves during summertime...
Haha I taking a drone next year to Hossegor 😂, although a quick bike ride is a good warm up even in summer
Wow, seems like France has waves year round. How were the local surfers, friendly?
Great.... in your video i see all the place where i live....
I remember going there once with my family. I used my dads old wooden longboard when I was 8. It was fun
Thank you really very much !
Damn, these are fun waves. I wish we had it like this in NY
Hope you can come back here soon ^^
cool footage man!
"J'aimerai bien aller chier gros" at 0:47, legend...
I’m there surfing right now 🎉
Hey mate, could you tell us about the surfboards you are riding…cheers
Nice vid 😉✨
Thank you for allowing the soothing sound of the waves to remain undisturbed by intrusive or unnecessary music at the end of the video :D
@kalebrock where you 1-2 weeks ago visiting the Chateau of Carcassone?
I saw a guy that was like you 😆
Until when will you stay in the coast of France? It would be an honor for me to meet you master!
Hi,
on what date was that clip filmed?
Cheers
Very nice for beach break waves. Are the waves normally that good in summer hossegor?
No it really depends on the swell incoming, could be cooking for a week and then flat the week after.
Great video! Even the last small day looked fun. How consistent are the waves there?
It was really fun :)
And consistent
Great vid! Where were you staying?
Too bad, we didn't share a session...Hope you enjoyed our beachbreak @kale ;) 🤙🏽
When have you been there? I was there recently for 3 weeks and also saw the five dog puppies running around at the beach. Although we didn't have the best swell and it looked very different
Recently :)
Recently :)
Yeah kale
4:46 was such a stylish wave, you looked locked in!
Merci!
was there last week
Amazying video Kale, which model of drone are you using to make this awesome aerial videos ? Congrats bro!
Mavic Pro :)
Is the surf actually ok in summer there? Thinking of doing a trip
Travelling alone?! Who filmed you from the land? No credits included! Nice place, hein, monsieur? 🤣🤙🏽 Small day, you deserve big Hossegorre though!
Travelling alone is by far the best way. Show up in +2's as an outisider and you deserve all the kooky maltreatment you get
What board are you riding?
what is the bike brand and what model is it.
thanks
I see you are still riding the album. If you had to choose between the twinsman, twinbender, or the lightbender, which one would you go with if you could only have one twinny?
I’m still trying to get a review done but not enough man power
@@KalesBroccoli would love to hear you break down the subtleties between them. Fair chunk of change so I want to make the right choice on model and sizing. Hope to see it in the future.
"Mais vas y fais ce que tu veux gros" ahahah awesome
Loooooool discussion in French in the background
0:47 "j'aimerais bien aller chier" ,"mais vas-y fait ce que tu veux gros"
"I'd love to go and take a shit", " go ahead bro, do as you please"
😂
Hey Kale, do you ride the inferno 72 in PU or Epoxy?
That’s the FT. In PU. Review coming soon
id love to visit france this summer but honestly these waves look kinda mushy and its pretty crowded :/ nice video and surfing though!
Bienvenue chez nous Kale ! ;D
And.... ye... you're not allowed to fly drones over houses in France, it's privacy violation ;) (but you can do it on the beach)
oh yeah, understanding the ''co-efficient'' tide chart is the key to the French beachies......
who is filming you on all this trips?
somebody can tell me where to hire an e bike like the one on the video in hossegor? please
Looks like a stupid fun wave.
Is it la sud or la nord!?
« Mais, vas-y fais c’que tu veux gros! » 😂
Today it's going to be a bigger day and next week it's on.
incrivel
niccceee !!!
Did I just see you making a sausage salad of some kind? :') that's a first for me.
what board is that?
Did you rent that bike?
Yeah!
This style of music is cliché for french people, it’s called bal musette and emerged in the 1880 and till 1960 . Apparently at this time it’s was fox-trot for the us . Ps: i have no clue there was wave during this (2022?) summer somewhere in france, it’s one of the crappiest year for surfing and still is atm for us.
August was a very good month in France
👍
Anyone else calling back to the Transworld Surf game?
Do you guys know that WE don t listen accordéon?
Boards too petite - oui
le commentateur au cadrage c'est pour me tuer
Menuda cara le echas, te pones morado a coger olas.
05:16 😉
I've surfed at the other end of the Bay of Biscay, at Malpica in Galicia.
No one listens to this music in France. However, everyone eats bread bought with income from the surfing industry while complaining about the increasing number of people trying their hand at surfing. France, that's it !
Were you calling off Frenchmen in French? 😂😂 we say hui hui hui. You were saying oui oui oui like Italians say si si si but mean no no no. 😂
Oui
@@KalesBroccoli my buddy from Kona is on your trail. He’s in France now. Sent him your clip here. Are you gonna hit Donostia too?
Did you know that we don't listen this kind of music anymore in france ?😉
You still eat baguette and cheese tho
@@Andrew-tl9gk So, What is the relation with the music ?
I do
But yet this music is still French 😊
Yes there is still one, at least! my old grand - ma, while eating creamy cheese on a piece of bread with garlic, pouring an another glass of wine to finish this toast. THE FRENCH TOUCH!
bievenue Brock. I am sure you've heard the oz twang in the lineup ! enjoy your stay :)
