Amber Heard Testifies in Defamation Trial - Johnny Depp v Amber Heard
Actor Johnny Depp is suing ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million for defamation in connection with Heard’s 2018 Washington Post op-ed, in which she spoke out about being the victim of domestic violence. Heard’s article did not specifically name Depp as her alleged abuser, but according to Depp’s lawsuit, it relied “on the central premise that Ms. Heard was a domestic abuse victim and that Mr. Depp perpetrated domestic violence against her.” Amber Heard is counter-suing Depp for $100 million.
The defamation trial began Monday in Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia, with jury selection completing on the same day. One of the saddest parts about this is she's going to make it even harder for actual women going through these sorts of things to get people to believe them.

That for me is the hardest thing of all this. And it shows her true character, that you would jeopardize women going through serious trauma. But at the same time, it's good to see a man fight for truth and to see this can really go both ways.
But she is going to make it easier for men who are in domestic violence. An under-resourced problem.
Man or woman, she gives us all a bad name. She single handedly has made a mockery of anyone that has gone through DV! People like her are the reason why my ex abuser never got what he deserved. So sad!

In addition, wouldn’t these level and mere number of beatings be heard/witnessed by the private security causing them to intervene, even IF their only job was to keep JD safe (which I’m sure it isn’t, ie they work to keep JD and everyone close to him out of harms way)? C’mon man!
She makes it sound like she was literally beaten half to death, WHERE ARE PICTURES OR MEDICAL RECORDS??? She took pictures of EVERYYYYYYTHINGGGG - EXCEPT her injuries???? ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!! I would be SHOCKED if the jury doesn't see through this absolute fuckery.
How on earth did she act in any movies with all these bruises etc, you can’t cover it with makeup as the makeup artists in set would have to have a clean face to put their movie makeup on. There would HAVE to be someone on the movies who would’ve been witness to such injuries if they existed surely

Things Amber messed up with while faking being a DV survivor with JD: someone who is abusive will NOT want you to have a support system. They will NOT want your friends or family to move in with you. They will want to keep up appearances from a distance, but will want them outside of their house most of the time because of how they act behind closed doors. Him inviting not only her friends but his friends - and from waaaay back in high school (lol how many people would do that???) - to live with him rent free and her having such a strong support system around her yet no one screaming out "I saw what he did!" is extremely, extremely sus. Also, Kate James better sue her for libel and defamation of character. Those are some serious accusations to just toss around like tissue paper in a courtroom, the kind that gets people's kids taken away 👀

I hadn't even thought about that but you are so right! That's a huge part of someone isolating and controlling another person. They want them to believe they are all that person has in the world, and everything they say is law. JD did basically the opposite of that. This is prbly the best point I've seen put out there to date. Great observation!

Bingo! You stated it exactly right. When I was in a DV situation, my husband wouldn't even let MY MOM come over to the house. He made me lose all of my friends, my siblings never came over anymore, I wasn't even allowed to talk to the NEIGHBORS, for goodness sake. He also complained and threw fits whenever I tried to work, or get a job, or anything. He did not want me to work I assume so that he could not just keep me so poor that I couldn't leave, but also so I wouldn't have a support system. Amber had NONE of that from what I can tell. She had friends, family, a career, if you could call it that. Johnny even helped her get the part in Aquaman. Also, abusers NEVER walk away from a fight. They HAVE TO WIN, at all costs. Seems more like that's what Amber did to him.
It is so creepy how often she stares at the jury. If I was on that jury I would be so immensely uncomfortable

Defendants are coached to give their answers to the jury because the case is presented to the jury. It’s a really common practice but seems unusual if you aren’t accustomed to watching a lot of trials. You will notice good expert witnesses will also address their answers to the jury. As a juror, it’s supposed to make you feel more connected to them. That they are talking to you not reciting to their lawyer. But it appears odd when viewed from the angle of the cameras. But it’s not unusual at all.
I’m not defending her, she’s a whack job, but she was clearly coached with some pretty routine tactics.

Something that's reassuring to me is that Mr Ben Chew looks confident all the time when when Amber is spewing lies on the stand. He didn't look fazed or shocked or anything like that. Having a confident attorney must do wonders for Johnny.

How painful and sad that at the time he was on his hard addiction treatment journey he had this villain Amber with him, yet this proves just how tough and brave Johnny is.
Next testimony from her is that he did actually kill her, but her death hasn’t been reported yet because she doesn’t want him to get in trouble! This is SUCH a disservice to Real DV victims. I hope she gets charged with perjury.

God I feel for johnny. What I had to deal with in court with my abuser took 3 years and was almost this ridiculous! He's holding it together well. I was sick to my stomach for 3yrs and lost a ton of weight from all the stress. At least there's a light at the end of the tunnel soon

So far Amber, has testified that nothing was ever her fault, and blamed everything on Johnny. At least Johnny was honest enough to admit to his own actions in their relationship and not place blame solely on Amber. I'm looking forward to seeing Johnny's team during their cross examination of Amber. It will be interesting to see if she can keep all of her lies straight.

She recorded him & took many photos of him… over and over BUT she has no evidence/photos of her major injuries? The way she describes these beatings… there must have been major bruising on her face or body! My father used to beat my mother and trust me I remember her injuries on her face and body!
That's sad... because I can remember the same thing with my mom. I remember one time we went to the grocery store after one of the times dad beat her. She looked HORRIBLE. So horrible that I remember the manager of the store pulling her aside and begging her to get out, and offering to do anything to help her leave. And he was a married man, so he wasn't making some kind of move on her. I remember him telling my mom that he had talked it over with his wife and they had a second house or apartment we could stay in. I prayed mom would get us out, but she didn't. 😟

The amount of violence she's describing... either her face/body is made of stone or she's lying. She'd have bruises, swelling, cuts, and definitely would need medical attention. 4:05:48 and 4:06:34, tears in both. I'm pro Johnny, but there moments where there are tears on her cheeks and there is no denying of that. I feel she is lying, but there are tears if you look closely.

Everyone’s focused on how she’s looking at the jury, but Johnny Depp is directly in front of her. Of course she wouldn’t want to look directly at him and has to look somewhere. I can’t take where she’s looking as evidence of anything.
I served on a Federal jury and I have never seen a group of individuals who couldn’t follow instructions and just wanted to hurry up and vote without proper discussion. After witnessing this, if God forbid I would ever need to be in front of jury I would ABSOLUTELY request a bench trial rather than a jury trial. Praying I don’t get called again as it was nothing short of a s#!% show 🙄🙄🙄🙄

It’s very convenient that she recalls everything he supposedly did, but when it comes to her recalling if she threw a vodka bottle and smashing his finger or her not doing drugs she doesn’t recall anything.
But she can “recall” every little detail of carpet, fridge, breath on window, what she is going to cook for dinner. COME ON LADY!!
If all this happened that night in Australia. I don’t believe his team of security etc would not have taken her to hospital or got her out of there. They wouldn’t have just left the house and not make sure she was ok. And why didn’t the nurse who gave her sleeping pills report this. She would have seen marks etc.

@@ShortStuffMegs21 I heard that audio, if I were to believe everything Amber said on the stand about that day I would believe that Johnny was out of control, high, drunk, aggressive and that she was scared and walking on eggshells. In fact just listening if I didn’t know anything I would think Johnny could have killed her and that everyone must have seen her with tons of injuries. But having listened to the audio it is absolutely crazy how she leaves anything about herself out and it’s all about Johnny. Yet in the audio everyone the guards the doctors, assistants were trying to get her to go back to LA. She basically admitted to starting the whole thing, and was crying she sounded like she was having a mental breakdown (exactly like how she made Johnny sound) and that she “doesn’t want to lose him”
It’s also interesting that he was such a raging alcoholic, yet she has no idea what he was drinking. Also, talking about his use of cocaine, as though she’s never touch drugs. I guess she forgot she admitted to her nurse that she once had a cocaine addiction.

To all of you surviving DV victims out there, I'm so sorry you have to hear this woman act like she has been a victim herself and make a mockery of DV and minimize every victims situation that they went through. You all deserve so much more recognition than this "thing" is giving you for sure. She is NOT a voice for victims of DV and that has been made perfectly clear. Question: She claims in tests that she suffers from PTSD, avoids certain memories and people, shuts down, suffers from memory loss and panic attacks.... and yet we don't see any of that here, instead we have a person who vividly and at length talks about every minor detail, using expressive and flowery language. How is this consistent with her avoiding memories and having panic attacks?
She constantly says she doesn’t recall or I don’t remember as her defense for that. But then later recalls

I bumped into the wooden post of my bed and hit my upper thigh. It was very late at night and my husband was asleep so I didn't want to disturb him by turning on the lights. Anyway, I developed a big bruise that lasted 9 months maybe more. First 2 months it looked really bad but you could still see it months later. Should have bought some amica cream!

Sometimes I notice bruises on my arms and legs that I don't even remember how I got (probably bumping into things etc). And people definitely notice and ask me about anything from bruises, to the scratch marks from my cat, to even redness from where I've been scratching myself or something. Unfortunately I don't even know what amica cream is, much like that poor painter guy.

During her testimony, at one point she really reaches the high point of her acting, around 4:57:16, i noticed that Johnny is frowning and once even looked at her, like he is sad for her. I think it really affected him badly, what she accused him of.

For the amount of times and the severity of these beating she is claiming, it’s odd that she wasn’t able to ever catch him on video or provide photographic evidence of the bruising lol. She did manage to give a photo of a blushed check and bruised arm though. And 100s of voice recordings and videos. For someone that is apparently beaten this often you’d think she’d actually manage to get evidence.
In one of the crime channels, I saw testimony from a woman whose partner killed a child. She tried so hard to stay calm and to answer questions factually, and tears literally flooded me. When I see Amber's testimony, I feel only embarrassed.

A lot of people are trying to make points about the hospital records but, doctors do not go to court to testify as witnesses for MOST cases unless they are called upon specifically by police because the HIGH liability of their job. Court is the last things doctors want to participate in so, the lack of medical evidence makes sense to me. If they represent something slightly off and the courts distinguish their testimony in a false manner, that doctor is looking at severe consequences. Potentially getting their license revoked, and a lawsuit for them personally. Very seldom do they require it. Especially in Australia where these events took place, right?

The trial is about a very specific thing, not is she a bad person and bring down his career, but did the article. The burden of proof is pretty high. I’m not sure he will win the case, but he will clear his name.
It’s been said the only reason he’s taking her to court like this is because of the damage this has caused to his children before any other thing. She has the audacity to bring his kids by name into this case that is very publicly being viewed. Their peers will see this, their peers will hassle them over this.

2 things: 1. DV doesn’t happen in the initial dating phase (if it did it would quickly show the abusers true colors and the partner would leave), it happens down the line after the attachment, commitment are fully secured. That’s when it’s hard to leave! It’s hard to imagine tough breaker of horses as she describes herself would not have walked away. She was 22. 2. A traumatized person’s body language is collapsed in on itself, hesitant to get out the story. That never changes in the retelling. I know I’ve listened to them in my work for many. years

If anyone is wondering why AH has very little evidence submitted, it’s b/c she refused to submit her phone records before the trial. She also tried getting this case dismissed 4x before the trial even began. Incredibly Average and That Umbrella Guy have been following this case for years and have gone through lots of the evidence from both parties. You’ll see that AH’s story always changes, and there’s always a shortage of evidence on her part.

@@natashajeha8078 it’s civil so technically she does not have to hand anything over unless the judge subpoenas it, not independent legal teams. Esp not the plaintiff (depp). I do not think Amber’s defence is good, but the misinfo abt legal online resulting from this case are damning. Defence and plaintiff have to develop their own arguments & we still have to acknowledge the legal system and the protect the ethics of the court even if AH does not.

i thought it was interesting that she mentioned yesterday that she had taken theater classes where she learned how to do stage makeup. i knew exactly why she mentioned that, to show that she had the knowledge to expertly cover up bruises, but what i immediately thought was hmmm maybe she learned how do basic special effects makeup which might have included how to make convincing cuts and bruises....

I feel so bad for JD having to hear someone saying that he has done these things, you can see on his face that at times he has felt incredulous and laughed at the absurdity. However he looks genuinely horrified at her claims of him assaulting her with a bottle. Can you imagine having to sit there and listen to this, I feel sick for him.

Empathy and understanding is key to being a good psychologist, but she overstepped the mark by making it personal, there needs to be some form of detachment, and critical thinking when dealing with patients, a psychologist can’t get that close, it’s against the ethics, Dr Hughes failed to be professional .
Totally. Emotions stay in the memory "bank" differently from other memories. For example, a person with dementia may not know who you are but they sense how you made them feel and know if you are safe/nice. She can talk fondly and expressively of the good emotions because they are real. She can't explain how the horrible things made her feel because those emotions are not in her deep memory and are not connected to what she is describing.
There is a behavioralist that detects deception that calls that, ‘fluff’. All that fluff is entirely irrelevant to the testimony and gets used by liars to make their stories more believable. She has so many indicators of deception that I couldn’t keep track of them all.
I am genuinely scared that the jury aren’t going to see her for what she is and that they will believe her. I didn’t think it was possible, but I’m seeing people on social media think she is telling the truth and being genuine and that is very worrying.

especially when the lawyers cut her off from talking to object and she gives them a dirty look and says "ANYWAYS" before turning back to stare at the jury. you can see her shift from fake crying to annoyed back to fake crying

Actually there's a video where she's being interviewed for a movie, and she cuts the interview to complain about a person that was opening and closing the door while working, cause that was "very distracting", showing a very angry AH... she hates being distracted or interrupted, as evidence shows-
Guaranteed her attorney doesn't bring up the Milani cover-up during her testimony, although she said in opening statements that she would. They probably got the memo that the Milani Cosmetics came out on their social media pages, calling Amber out for lying about how she used it to cover up bruises.
