- While swapping parts off the 1995, I realized now would be a good time, while the coolant was out, to refresh the cooling system a little bit. This video covers replacing o-rings on the coolant bypass nipple, thermostat (not shown), rear heater delete, and pesky heater hose.

ocd, i’m the same way, just want it done RIGHT !! lol, still can’t figure out what that tool was when you were using 18mm socket to get that round heating part out, and working on more pain in the ass work sucks when it’s hot out!! just makes everything harder, great job getting it done ✅

A mix of Wits' End, Partsouq, and eBay.
Where’d you get that multicam headliner?
Installed by a previous owner. Fabric adhered over the factor headliner.

I can't imagine getting that whole dash out. I had one nearly out of a 03 4Runner to fix a leaky evaporator but stopped short and left it to the "pros". I'll go all the way next time.
I did one last week. Comes apart pretty easy. A real pain putting the dash back together

How did you get at that bolt?
I got good after putting in on and off three times. I had fiberglass from the firewall pad in my arm for days. Do not recommend.
It was almost all by feel.
@@thelandcruiserproject what wrench did you use? I couldn't get a ratchet on it and the flexible box wrench hit the stupid harness right there.
If I am remembering right it is a 12mm head. Socket and ratchet doesn’t fit, like you said. If I am remembering right, I used the boxed end of my 12mm wrench. Nothing fancy but they have slightly angled heads. I think the way I got to it was from the driver side, just above the starter and the wiring connectors to the transmission. You might also need to move that wiring a bit to get some more room. It’s awfully tight and that’s why I look the way I do in the video after I got it done. I don’t think that I got more than a little turn at a time and had to reset. Get back there with your fingers as soon as you can to speed it up once it’s loose enough. I don’t recall using a stubby or even my ratcheting box ends. You might also try and get it loose from up above. Where are you at in the world? If your close (NorCal) I’d love to help.
@@thelandcruiserproject I could get my ratcheting 12 on it but didn't have room to move it since swinging it away from the motor would pop it off the head when it hit the pipe and the damn wire harness was in the way. I couldn't get the wire harness clamp thing open to move it either. It's going through inspection in a couple days so I figured better to get it done then deal with the hose that actually looks pretty good. I was in there replacing the vacuum switch up under the intake. That sucked as well but I got it. It's my friends truck and I truly dislike it on a personal level. It's a lexus version too. I would personally like to punch the designer who put that rubber hose there for absolutely no reason right in the throat. Being that the hard line is secured by brackets as it is there is no excuse for that line to not be flanged and bolted to the block or a threaded collar with ball and seat type connection. Cheap ass spring clip is ridiculous too.
