I am an American Christian. As to your ending statement, "The west may go to hell.": If the West continues on it's current course, it will. I see daily video evidence that sexual perversion is elevated to a level in the West that calls out for the judgement of a holy God as with Sodom & Gomorrah. But let not those in other cultures think that they shall fare any better when they allow a man in an official position to continually rape & sodomized a 10 year old boy without any negative consequences but when an American soldier physically confronts him for it, that soldier is punished for imposing HIS moral standard on that official. The judgement of God IS coming upon a wicked world, not only the west. Only those who individually turn to His Savior and away from their sin will be spared eternal punishment.
The African presidents are standing up for what is right in the sight of the Most High and are being characterized as "primitive' and "backward". So are all who dare to take the same position.

Homosexuality is a crime in many countries not just the middle East and Africa. Countries like Japan and Singapore also don't accept this. What you notice looking at these African leaders is how much more competent, how much more statemanlike, they are than Western leaders. There hasn't been a single truly world class Western leader in a long time. The quality of some MPs and representatives is very low. Western countries have mismanaged their societies, they have not listened to their people, and so consequently candidates of lower quality are being elected for ideological reasons. The divisions in Western societies mean that effective government is becoming increasingly difficult.
The West tries to project a negative image of African leaders that is why it is the responsibility of every human to research, know and consume vetted information rather than the distorted mis-information that has been rolling off the Western press for decades.
